KFC, Taco Bell, McDonalds, Subway...Little Debbie Snack Cakes....You may be under your calorie totals, but WHAT you are eating is a lot of bad stuff. The weight won't come off if you keep eating like that, IMO. Also, 5 days isn't long enough to really be looking yet.

I'm also at 6 lbs down and looking and looking for any visible sign yet. I think I see a bit more definition around your midsection. Good work!

I hadn't heard that, but we just started using a "fruit infusion" pitcher that my sis in law gave us for Xmas. My husband and I thought it was kind of useless at first, but it has a section that slides in the pitcher - you can fill it w/ cut up fresh fruit, cucumber, mint - whatever- and fill with water. I've been filling…

I don't worry so much about the sugar from fruit because you are also getting fiber from the fruit (whereas with juice, you are just getting the sugar). But I also remember what I hard time I had on weight watchers in the 90's - I could NOT lose weight. My leader finally looked at my food log, and while I was staying…

I don't. I generally eat most of my exercise calories but there are some days where I exercise late in the day, and eat a healthy meal & I have had 400, 700, even once nearly 1000 extra calories. And it's after 8pm! If I feel like I want a snack I might have a piece of fruit or some popcorn or a zone bar, but I don't eat…

Yes - I find I am highly motivated by food; I dislike exercise, so the tradeoff of getting to eat more if I exercise seems to work for me. I've been on MFP 4 weeks today; I eat my exercise calories - maybe not all of them, but I do always eat more than what I am given via MFP without exercising. Some days when I exercise…

I had my husband take my "before" pictures this weekend even though I've been on the site 3 weeks and have lost 6 lbs. I knew I was an "apple" shape but didn't realize how large of an apple I was...

butter chicken is my favorite to get as well....

I have a desk job as well. I have taken to just taking 10 minutes & walking the length of the building once or twice at a quick pace. A desk exercise no one can see - while sitting, with your feet on the floor, raise your heels, keeping your toes on the floor. Engage your thighs, calves, and core stomach (core muscles).…

Thank you! I have seen it used and I have tried to figure it out & just couldn't.

I work from home pretty often as well. One thing I do is hop on my exercise bike or do my workout video during my lunch break. Even just getting outside & taking a 10 minute walk around the block breaks up the day, energizes you, and gives you some exercise credit early in the day.

jump rope w/o the rope.

I give up. WHAT does NSV stand for?

I think we are all much more critical of ourselves than people who are looking at us. As someone who hasn't worn a size 10 since middle school, I can't really imagine anyone who is a size 10 having "fat legs" LOL. Have you considered one of those wrap skirts/scarves to wear while you walk around the pool/beach so you only…

We had some leftover grilled steak, so I sliced it up thin (cold) and put it on a big green salad w/ just a few gorgonzola cheese crumbles. It was very filling.

I had to turn away from milk after developing some issues w/ lactose intolerance (not 100% - I can have most cheese, half and half, ice cream; but sour cream/ milk/ too much of something in one day will get me). Soy milk tastes awful, IMO, and Silk Soy Milk has a TON of sugar. Rice milk is OK - vanilla flavored - if you…

Wow - you look beautiful. Thanks for this as your starting weight & mine are about the same, and I have 24 lbs to go to look as good as you!
-
change your setting to 1 lb/week and you will have more calories allotted to you. I just started 3 weeks ago, setting for 1 pound/week. I've lost 6 lbs in 3 weeks.

Good luck on the interview! Your question is a tough one. We hear all the time about discrimination in the work force for so many things. I would think that a large weight loss like 70 lbs would indicate that when you set a goal, you meet it, you have determination, etc. On the other hand, many people will look at you and…

Well, 7" total in 2 months is a positive change. Like I mentioned, I just started & I'm trying to keep my goals really low/manageable so I don't become discouraged. I figure I need to look at this from directions other than just the number on the scale. For me: weight lost inches lost improved cardio improved blood sugar…

I might be a little older than some of you, but I remember when yogurt first became popular in the 70's - and it was tangy/sour. And frozen yogurt had that nice tangy edge to it as well. Then, like all things, they started to "americanize" it to make it more appealing to our palates & poured tons of sugar into it. And now…

I'm pretty new here myself so I don't know all the tricks to really give you much advise, but I noticed you're from Waterford & wanted to say Hi! I used to live in Waterford - now I'm over by Keego Harbor, but we're neighbors! What sort of exercise do you do? Are you noticing anything else - like your clothes fitting…

Some of that vacation weight is really just temporary. Give it a few days of being back to your normal life & some of it will drop off, and you will not have gained as much as you thought. Sometimes life throws you curves - some good (Paris!) some bad (your Dad). We have to cope as best as we can & can't expect to be…

Mine says 143-158. My goal is 170. Or is it 180? I don't remember. I just know that either of those numbers I haven't seen in 20 years, and I'll be happy there. Also, these calculators have one problem for me - when I enter my height of 5'6", there is no way to accomodate the fact that I have scoliosis & two 40 degree…

I don't have that experience, but I also kind don't tell everyone everything. I don't have this on my FB. I don't tell everyone how I'm doing or where I'm struggling. I guess it's not everyone else's business. I share some of this with my sisters and best friends and that's it - people who I know support me. If you put too…

I cycle as well & I'm thrilled that the calories seem to go only according to speed (10-12 mph/leisurely). When I do the bike trail, that works fine. But this weekend we rode in the neighborhoods - and they are hilly. It is murder going up some of those hills and, yes, you do get a nice glide on the downhill, but it can be…

That is one thing that I sort of mentally do. So, let's say I'm a bit under calories on Thursday & Friday, but then I go over because of dinner out on Saturday. I figure that the average for the WEEK is in line, even if I might have been over or under on certain days. For example, on Sundays I generally get a LOT more…

You are adorable! You look great. I don't even see how there could be another 121 to go.

I was helping my husband last week at work (TV work) and the crew food he was planning to get? Grinders. I asked him to get thin-crust pizza instead (and he also picked up a salad for me). I did some online searches for calorie counts for some popular pizza chains, and the thin crust is SOOOO much better than the deep dish…
