Sorry, OP, I'm no help, I have this issue too... bump for the info!

I don't think you're a douche for wanting to work out on a holiday. I think you're a douche for trying to bias us with your personal preference for not working out on holidays by titling your post with such a leading question. But anyway, it's Thanksgiving and Christmas is just around the corner, so here you go…

Not trying to start an argument, cuz I know how these things roll on MFP, but I don't think judging people, even with empathy, makes someone a good person... (Not saying your a bad person either, OP, just that this isn't something that would lead me to believe you're "good")

Even if you have a personal relationship with them- no, you can't. Especially by trying to stop people from doing the things they're doing - I know you would probably never actually act on stopping someone from entering a buffet or taking popcorn from people but most would definitely be offended at you trying to "restrict…

I've been meaning to start working on weights too but 've been procrastinating on it for about half a year now. Maybe longer. So this is mostly a bump for the info you get :) But the advice I've been given is to just set the weights to the most you can move (safely and with form) and to just start. Then try to increase…

Congrats! You've done so well! And have to say, I love your clothes... nice style too :)

Love this question :) I love not being winded when I've only exerted minimal effort. I love putting clothes on and seeing smooth lines instead of frumpy buldges :) I love getting better, physically. Running longer, faster, and lifting heavier than I thought I could. It's all pretty awesome :)

This... I tend to watch my calories over the entire week, not just by day. And there are some days where I don't meet 1200 but others where I"m closer to 1500... so it all eventually works out :) As long as I keep those 1500's in check, lol.

You're not doing worse! 85lbs is an AMAZING amount to lose! They just didn't know about it when they were telling you to change your habits - you know what you're doing and that it's helping so keep at it! It seems you just never let yourself find out where you really were the first time around :( But now you do- you know…

Bump for ideas.... Sorry I'm no help but good luck, OP!

Bump to read later :)

This, and This. Try to remember - when your second group of friends whines to you abt their own habits, they're not asking you to be their psychologist or to help them in any way. They're just talking- something a lot of people do. Try not to get offended if they don't follow your advice or do the things that you say to…

Bump to save this! OP, I suggest Vitamin D, if you can't get any direct sunlight, that is. A vacation would be awesome!!

Guessing I'm too late here, but getting a baja chili salad from wendys' is filling and fairly low cal. Just don't use the tortilla strips or dressing (or half dressing max). Not sure what the cals are right now... I usually get the half with a baked potato or something. Yummmm....

awesome job!

bump for the info!

I started pushing the 200lb mark. At 5'3, it was INCREDIBLY noticable. I also felt like garbage- I would get home from work and want to sleep right away and those "naps" would last for a couple hours while only giving enough energy to make it through the evening. I was always hungry. Nothing ever fit... I started avoiding…

I too, am in love with your shoes. As for your question- I don't *not* tell people, but I don't tell them either... does that make sense? If people ask me how I'm losing weight, I tell them- because I don't want them thinking I'm doing some fad and it's working so they should do it too. But I don't go out of my way to tell…

Not that I think you're going to check this board anymore, but at the end of her post she also said: She did address that her negativity was an issue and she understood the flaws in her behaviour... her self hating rant was projected towards the fact that she behaved this way, not on the fact that she is unhappy with her…

Sorry, I'm not much help but bump for info! But I will say, if that Pilates class helps you with your scoliosis pain, then keep doing it. Living pain free is a great thing :)

This. It's like "Sexy B*tch", the song by Akon.. the intention may be in the right place but as a compliment, it's just a FAIL.

Great post :) Just for today - I will not give in when I reach home all achy and sore. I will do my workout!

Explore your options and eat what you think tastes better :) Quinoa has an ok taste but seems to pick up the flavours of things you make it with very well... black rice is another option as well, and it actually tastes really good as it is (at least that's what I think... it's pricey though) I've never heard of golden…

You've already gotten the suggestion I would give: Plan your meals and prepack so you can take them with you (or keep food at work, if that's an option). Working out before work is also great - it really does help you feel better through the day and you don't need to worry about pushing yourself to do something when you're…

bump to save :)

Not that I eat a lot of pork... but bump for ideas :)

Elliptical (without the arm bars, if that's too much), bike or spinning (though spinning might be a bit much if you're not used to exercising yet... it's pretty intense...) orrrr you could just do a bunch of different types of squats/lunges and leg moves. This will work your legs, glutes and abs (depending on the moves,…

Bump to save :) Awesome thread :)
