  • Amazing job!! And honestly, makes me feel good that you did it with mostly walking... that's what I've been doing lately, but I've been feeling guilty for not doing more.
  • I've heard the same as above, but I never really focused on it. I use Stevia, which is a natural sweetener (plant based). AF's actually give me headaches, so I don't use them for that, but Stevia doesn't... butttt, I never craved sweets from either AFs or stevia, so I'm not sure if it'll help you with that?? Either way, no…
  • Hi there, I agree with CollieFit on this. I think you still need to see a doctor about your body issues. It's good that you were able to use exercise to help control it, but it doesn't sound like you actually got to the root of the problem - it was like putting a bandaid on a cut that needed stitches. Controlling calories…
  • I think it's this. Sometimes a food is 10.1 or 8.7 or something like that. So if it's 10.1 the calculators will round down and if it's .7 it'll round up.. but then in the totals it'll add all the entire total and then post that. I have actually noticed this before and came to this conclusion (I was adding a lot of my own…
  • Amazing loss
  • They're starting to be available everywhere now but I first got it at Bulk Barn (Canadian store, but maybe there's a bulk food wholesaler around you somewhere?). The prices are still the best there, chia seeds especially can be expensive.
  • Its funny to me that this practitioner would prescribe protein shakes/bars to lower blood sugar levels... those things are either full of sugar or artificial sweeteners (which come with their own problems).... so how is that helping?? Losing weight does help control diabetes, but really only when there's serious excess…
  • I know I won't be committed to this right now, but it's an amazing idea! Great job, guys!
  • If you don't add the gum would it be more of a shake than fluff? I've no idea where to get that from and not really feeling like getting it, considering I wouldn't know what else to do with it either, lol. Oh, and the torani syrup... is it fine without that too? Again, no idea what that is...
  • Are you feeling bored with it all? Maybe you need to find some new foods or a different workout strategy. Try mixing it up and seeing if that helps you get your groove back.
  • If you're weight training, your muscles are growing. They'll expand a bit before they start to shrink. That's why your clothes are feeling snug. Keep at it, you'll do amazingly if you still with it  :
  • I love yolks - they're the yummy part. Also, the fats in there are healthy and there's even evidence that they help fight "bad" cholesterol (I have no research on hand to back this up- google it, I guess). The only reason to avoid them is to drastically cut back on calories.
  • Hey everyone! Born and raised in Toronto but currently in Dubai! Feel free to add me
  • The last time I weighed myself was Xmas eve, just because I went to a party and the person had a scale in their bathroom... otherwise, I don't have one so have no idea how I'm doing. I don't know if I'm losing weight or not, but at the same time I don't get negative and down from weight fluctuations. My calories are…
  • yum! Bean sprouts
  • Those guns! Awesome!!
  • Along with the great suggestions above, pre portion your snacks so you're not just eating out of the container. You're right that nuts are good but not in crazy quantities, so stop making that an option. Buy small sandwich bags and divvy them out into 100 cal packs (or whatever amt suits you). Then you can have your snack…
  • I'm in Dubai, so it's midday here! I'm just about to go to the grocery store
  • I love peanut butter. I buy a new jar before I'm done the old one to make sure I always have some. A neat little PB trick (or any nut butters, I guess) is to dilute it with a bit of milk. Like 2 or 3 tbsp of milk to 1 of pb, then heat it up in the microwave and mix. Doesn't dilute the taste, but gives you more pb for…
  • Walking was a great start to exercise for me. I lost about 30 lbs with watching my diet and walking. I started at 30 mins, then up to an hour and then I started working on my speed... and then I moved on to running and doing other exercises as well. Actually, I fell off the bandwagon for quite a while, and I've started…
  • Maybe it's the difference between looking up and down, but you look like a totally different person! Great job, especially with all of the changes (and breaking your foot... yikes!) Good luck getting to your goal!!
  • That's my cat in my profile pic, though he passed away last year. He was 12. I'm currently fostering a lil stray kitty who was found with a broken leg... I'm supposed to give her up to have her cast removed and returned to where she was found, but she's such a little sweetheart, I can't imagine her on the streets... I'm…
  • Bump because I don't want this group to be deleted :)
  • Sorry OP, I'm no help, but bump to save... my ribs end pretty close to my hips as well, and I would be so sad if I had to stop everything I'm doing (which is basically everything your doc told you to stop).
  • I used to need wide shoes too (foot size went down with weight loss... one of those things you don't expect, lol) Adidas has these cloth-top shoes which have done me quite well, both before and after. I think their called cool runners or something like that? the actual name's worn off the shoe but they have techfit and…
  • Not drinking enough before, opposed to having it after? That's interesting ETA: If this is the case, then I'm probably going to switch brands after I finish what I have. The more I think of it, I have to admit... much as I love a good glass of water, I'm pretty much at my threshold already. I have no idea how I'd fit…
