Shoe Issue HELP HEEL BLISTERS

I have a question for all you runner/walkers. First in a shoe I needed wide and it has to house my orthotic so I purchased guys size 8 Saucony Rides since here in Canada no one stock womens wide shoes!! Anyhow I find that I get heel blisters in any running shoe not just these ones. My question is does you foot at the heel move a little when you walk? I find mine moves in these a bit not slipping out and smaller shoes I read that it should not slip but is moving a bit okay. Also I feel like maybe I am tying my shoes so tight that the heel is jammed back there possibly causing this issue. I have solved it a bit with Heel Locking the laces, WrightSocks, Body Glide and Moleskin.

I've known a lot of runners both boys and girls to buy shoes too small. There should be a good thumb width between your longest toe and the front end of the toe box. I have had shoes that I never could get broken in ( used to) I threw them away.
I always broke in new shoes slowly until they felt right. I have used adhesive tape over sensitive areas for a few days.
    Good Luck

To me it just sounds like you've got shoes that don't fit you properly. Modern running shoes really shouldn't need wearing in as modern materials are normally already sufficiently flexible. I would suggest finding a specialist store take your orthotics with you and try some shoes on. Has the orthotic been specially fitted for you because normally they would fit it to you and your shoes?

I used to need wide shoes too (foot size went down with weight loss... one of those things you don't expect, lol)

Adidas has these cloth-top shoes which have done me quite well, both before and after. I think their called cool runners or something like that? the actual name's worn off the shoe but they have techfit and adiwear on them, so hopefully that helps you find them. The fabric stretches where I need while still maintaining the snuggest fit, which they've maintained through my loss. It's probably past time I replaced them, but they're still pretty awesome. I definitely noticed a reduction in the amt of blisters I got between these shoes and the last ones.

(ps. also from Canada- they're available there!)

Oh, and to answer your question- yes, the blisters are happening because of your foot moving. That's the difference between these and my last runners- in the last ones, I thought they were the proper fit because I had that thumb width of room from the toe to the top of the shoe and that little bit of movement was the only thing happening- though my foot never came out... yet I used to get blisters both on my heels and also at the balls of my feet/pads of my toes. They stopped forming almost immediately after getting those Adidas shoes.

Maybe take your orthotic with you when you go shoe shopping and see how something fits both on that foot and the other... it's a pricey option but you may need to consider getting 2 pairs of shoes- one the proper size for one foot and the other a size up/down for the other.... though I do know there are stores around which make custom made shoes- obv that'd be expensive too but would be worth considering.
