Jealousy is a funny thing... some people can get over it and others can't. But whether they do or don't, that's not on you- that's on them. It says much more about who they are than it does about you. Don't let their insecurities make you feel any less. You're doing this for you- not so that people on the peripheries of…

Using half a tbsp of oil works just as well as using a full spoon. There really isn't any way to find a lower calorie oil- they're all around the same. Just be sure to stick with healthier oils- olive oil is good as is virgin coconut oil (though this leaves a coconutty flavour, so isn't for everyone). You could also try…

Are overhead presses the same as military presses?

Fiber soaks up a lot of water- I know you said you drink more now but maybe you need even more due to your increased fiber?

Are you losing weight to lose weight or are you trying to live a healthier lifestyle? Try changing your focus. Don't just look at shedding lbs, look at how to improve your health and figure out ways to help you stick with it.

LOL but if you marry Prince Harry's doppelganger, he might not be British... what if he's American? Or Colombian (with dark hair). Come to think of it, he'd look better with dark hair. You should go for that one. ETA: Originally meant to say thank you to everyone for explaining... but then I got sidetracked...…

Pb&J for the win Edited again for a follow up: What's the difference between jelly and jam?

I love coconut oil. Virgin (unrefined) coconut oil is what you want for the healthy fats. It's usually more expensive tho- using the refined stuff for hair and body is still awesome. Basically the type of fat that's in coconut oil is turned to energy right away instead of being stored in your cells as fat usually is. I…

I try to remember this but think I'm going to need to tattoo it somewhere.

I'm all for "zigzagging" calories (averaging out over the week) but think that your "planned binging" is a bad idea. The best way to maintain a healthy lifestyle is to fix your relationship with food. This plan doesn't do that.

While I agree with everyone else on not working out if you have a fever but going for it if it's a cold (unless sinus's are super blocked, I would wait til that phase is over) I also very STRONGLY agree with your inclination towards not going to the gym while you're sick and coughing/spreading mucus over everything. I…

The Dark Crystal Oh and The Fall was visually stunning... much of my honeymoon was to go visit places in India where that was filmed. It's beautiful.

Working out alone. It definitely does break my focus having someone come along with me. Gym time was about me- but now I have a tag-alonger... and while I want to encourage her to be healthier... it's actually driving me crazy.

My weight lifting is really weak... I'm using 8lb dumbbells :( Hoping to be able to up it to 12 by the end of the week. Otherwise I have an old universal gym which I could use. Gimme a few days I'll figure out what all the parts of it are.

I think you could probably increase your intensity during your hard intervals... you should basically be almost dying by the end of 1 hard interval and then just up to where you can breathe again at the end of your easy... and repeat :)

Hmm I think the circuits I do are basically like this... but will do more research into it and see :) Thanks!

No, I haven't...

bump to save info... I'm hoping to start SUPing soon!

Agree with everything mentioned above. Also want to add that if you're generally a cardio person, HIIT training can help your performance. I love running but have been doing a lot of hiit runs, tabata and circuit workouts lately opposed to general steady state type runs and then during my steady run, managed to more than…

No, I don't... While I definitely have more energy if I eat before working out, I have to wait at least 45 mins to digest before hitting the gym.... and then I run into the same issue you have, where I start losing motivation to go and start talking myself out of it. What I have done a couple times is to take something…

I was strongly considering getting a Polar FT4, it's the model below the FT7 and has fewer bells and whistles... I think FT7 has online tracking on their own site... but since it didn't connect with MFP I wasn't really interested. So that's really interesting to know about the Vivofit! I'll definitely check in to that :)

Awwww that lil baby!!! and love the white ones' eyes!! Sorry for the one you've lost :(

Based on your description I would say lightly active, for sure. Chasing after toddlers and getting in housework doesn't sound very sedentary to me! Make sure you log any exercise you do as well... so that walking and anything else beyond that would go as separate daily entries. I wouldn't even bother with trying that week…
