I wear my PolarFT4 to swim, too. As said above, works fine if you don't push the buttons under water, and make sure you take the "computer" off the strap afterwards to dry out. Occassionally, it will lose the signal underwater, but if you're wearing the strap snuggly, it should be just fine.
