I have Chris's book. I think I'm going to reread it and give carb cycling a try again. I have 35lbs to lose and I always plateau after I drop the first 10. Maybe this will help me to not plateau.

OK, thanks!

I am not even sure what my body fat % is but I would assume it is fairly high..maybe like 25-30%...IDK. What if I ate 1500-1600 calories per day and then worked out, without eating any calories back? Would that work as long as I don't net below 1200?
-
Thanks! I will do my best!

OK, so just so I am crystal clear, eat 1758 calories (clean eating of course!), and whatever I burn through exercise, DO NOT eat back? :-) So essentially, if I ate 1758 calories and burned 400 through exercise, that would net 1358 for that day...and I would probably lose about a pound per week? I can live with that!

Wow, that is awesome, great work! I can't dedicate 2 hours to the gym per day...but over the course of a week, I can log some significant time working out. I don't have a gym membership, so I rely on walking and Fitness Blender videos.

You are right, I guess I figured if I set the bar high, it would give me more incentive to actually push towards the goal. Honestly, if I can see 160-something, that would be fine by me. And I could work on the rest later.

So with this calculator it is telling me 1758 calories per day. Is this what I should "net" everyday?

Thank you for your input! We are both July babies!! MFP currently has me at about 1360 calories per day, but all this TDEE and BMR and calculations from all these different threads are confusing me. I just want someone to tell me what I need to do, eat and burn per day and I will do it, LOL

What if I cut 500 from diet and burn 500 through exercise? Would that be ok?
-
Thanks Ladies! I have just been on a roller coaster with this up and down weight, I am so tired of losing and gaining it back. So how many calories should I eat per day and how many should I burn? I am willing to work out 5 days a week, at about 30 -45 minutes per day.

I understand your journey, from college to now (10 years total) I have gained over 40 lbs...some might think 40lbs over 10 years isn't bad, but I am only 5'4 and I weigh 178 pounds. Yes, I had a baby, but he is 18 months old now..and quite frankly I was overweight before I had him. My husband is only 20 pounds heavier than…

We have similar goals...I am at 173 and would like to get down to 155-158...I haven't seen the 160s in years and I had a baby last year so really getting to the 160s and under would be AWESOME!!!

MFP has me set at 1360 with me to lose 1lb/week. I always get confused as to whether or not I should eat back my exercise calories. I wear a HRM and for example today during my workout it said I burned 390 calories...so on top of eating 1360 that MFP allots, should I eat an additional 390 calories burned from the workout…

Go to YouTube and type in Fitness Blender. They have a lot of free workout videos. I love them!

Short term goal is to weigh 160lbs. Long term goal is to commit to a healthy lifestyle, maintain goal weight and exercise regularly even when not trying to lose.

I originally said 160 (I was 190). Now that I'm close to 160, I could probably go as low as 150, but I don't want to look too skinny. I have a lot of curves so for me it's not so much about the number but how I look and feel.

I purchased the 4 week plan for busy people. I use my own eating plan but in the first two weeks I've lost 5lbs. I have two more weeks to go and am hoping to lose another 5lbs but that may be unrealistic. I love their workouts and would recommend to anyone.

Strawberries, or any kind of fruit do it for me!

Beyoncé Crazy in Love, Partition, Rhianna Rude Boy, Usher Yeah, anything that keeps me moving!

I lost almost 20lbs by using their videos and eating healthy over the course of 4 months. I slacked a little bit on the exercising and eating healthy over this time period, but if I had fully committed myself, I know I could lose more. I just started back strong so I am hoping to lose these last 10-15 lbs. I have their…

I have a polar HRM and I love it! I wear it during all my workouts and I have lost weight. No tool is 100% accurate but I find that by using the HRM versus the gym machines seems to be way more accurate. Everyone will have their own opinion but I think mine was a good investment.

Great job! We're the same height and my goal weight is 160! You inspire me! :)

I'm 5'4" and my goal weight is 160. That's probably still in the overweight category but I'm very curvy and when I was in the 130-140 range, my head looked really big, lol. 150 would be the absolute lowest but I'd be happy with 160.

Try to plan ahead! I am having Christmas dinner at my mom's house and I know there is going to be quite a spread. So I volunteered to make my broccoli/chicken casserole. It will be probably be the healthiest thing on the menu so I figure if I eat more of that and less of the ham, mac & cheese, cookies, pies and whatever…

Day one...here in North Carolina! I will try to stay at my 1200 calorie goal (which I think I will since I have planned my meals accordingly) and I will get in an hour of cardio once I get off work! Just trying to stay motivated! :)
