  • Don't give up! You can do anything you set your mind too! And most importantly forgive all the things that sneak in from time to time. We are human it's part of the journey!! Good luck on your program!!
  • Today's small victory not licking the beaters after making some back to school brownies this morning! Baked them and they covered them for later this afternoon! :-)
  • My gym has a very open area where machines are close to the free weight section. After working with a personal trainer for a length of time I feel quite comfortable walking over and taking up space with the free weights. I feel as if I push myself harder by using the free weights, which in turn has done a better job of…
  • I really get your perspective. We are the only ones to blame for not getting out of bed to work out or for putting another fork full in our mouths. I too am a lover of pizza, thankfully the spouse isn't or I would end up eating it more :-) I completely get the idea of being better for our children, showing them better…
  • For me it was moving closer to my mother who is house bound due to not taking care of herself, not watching her diet and being inactive. I thought I want to be able to have fun with my grandchildren one day and not end up in a wheelchair at 70. It was a good wake up call. It has not been easy because my eating habits have…
  • The accomplishment...for many reasons I shouldn't even be sitting here typing this note. The fact that I can lift myself out of bed and attempt to run is satisfaction. Oh and doing things I was told I couldn't like 5K's!
  • Job got bad, continued to work out but just kept eating more and more. Didn't stick to gluten free/ processed sugar free so it just piled back on. Thankfully not back to where I was when I started in 2009 but still its harder to drop the older I get. I just keep getting back on track and pushing forward best I can. :-)
  • I can relate as so many of us can. Up and down on a roller coaster of the weight battle. I will say that I stopped wanting to get on a scale and committed to the way my clothing felt. After so many years of being 200+ I set a goal to keep my weight under 180. I too am in better physical condition than twenty years ago when…
  • Oh goodness! Have you checked to see if you need new shoes? Perhaps they aren't proper walking shoes? I sure hope you don't end up with an issue that stops you from walking. If this does curtail you for a bit find a pool. I have a plantar issue in my right foot and have found the elipitical and a pool are the best to rest…
  • I love your post. I really had never thought about it but I am thirsty not hungry immediately after the work out. About an hour or so later I get hungry and that is about mid morning snack time so I try for fruit and a cheese stick. I work out after breakfast usually which probably helps. Make sure you are getting enough…
  • This was too funny! :) I love green tea and chocolate so it makes it even harder for me!!
