  • going to the drinking fountain to fill up my bottle now!
  • It's so important to have another goal! Maybe it's to run a certain distance, or reach a certain body fat %, or something...but DON'T STOP! I reached my goal weight last summer, but then between getting married and school and work I fell off the wagon and now have between 8-10 lbs to lose again :( So keep eating smart,…
  • awesome! i love running outside...so much more than on a "dreadmill." hope you enjoyed it!
  • Oh and if you are using walking shoes, maybe you need new ones? Or maybe they are not the right kind. I don't know a lot about walking shoes but I know for running there are different kinds depending on the way you run...so maybe there is something like that for walking? Maybe go to a store where they know their stuff and…
  • I would recommend getting some shoes that are designed for walking...that way your feet will be cushioned :) Otherwise you could try some inserts...
  • thanks for the suggestions :) i wish i could bike to classes...unfortunately campus is about 80 miles from my work...so i have to fit in workouts early in the morning or at night.
  • always return after a good scratching?
  • pecans! dried fruit! raisins! oh fantastic ideas. thanks guys!! :)
  • I struggle with 1200 calories too - it's hard! I think the key is to eat a lot of fruits and veggies, especially broccoli, lettuce, that kind of thing (which I am not good at). But fiber will definitely fill you up - try adding some to your meals. If you really can't get the fiber naturally, you can try adding a little…
  • Ahahahahaha I'm with you on that one! It's so frustrating! Maybe after work I'll go try a couple on and jump up and down in the fitting room...or take a jog around the store ;)
  • Oh and I got mine for $115 from Amazon or eBay...don't remember which. Retail is 200 I believe?
  • I don't know a lot about HRMs but on the advice of a friend I just got the Garmin Forerunner 305 (with chest strap) and I REALLY like it! I didn't research the Polars at all so I can't compare them...but the Garmin lets you create and customize workouts, it has alerts for time, distance, and if you go outside a speed/heart…
  • Thanks for the input :) It has definitely been a stressful day. And I did exercise!! So maybe I will kick back with a cold one...and I can still take a walk later! ;) Ahhh Yuengling....wish we had it here!

  • My worst one is probably beer/wine. But I'm also a member of the clean plate club. And it's HARD to eat healthy! I mean it's so difficult to plan so far in advance...or if I am busy/tired I will end up going to Extreme Pita at school instead of making myself somethnig :(
  • I just got a Garmin Forerunner 305 and used it for the first time - IT IS AWESOME! I can't wait to see what cool stuff I can track!
  • I had McDonald's for lunch at 10:30 this morning. Soooo...don't feel too bad? :)
  • ahahaha...i would settle for one pull up at this point :D
  • Thanks for all the suggestions and encouragement! I did not realize p90x was part of a series...I hear SO MUCH about it but nothing about the other ones. I actually got this from a friend. I might stick with the cardiox for a minute and strength training before I try the plyo again....
  • Shame on them for commenting on it!! Don't worry about weighing...the scale is the devil and a liar besides. Sometimes you just have to push yourself through...and know that once you're done, you will feel so good about having exercised despite all the obstacles! If you're still blah, try to start small...take a brisk…
  • I don't have any experience with the mini pill - sorry :( But if you've hit a plateau - whether it's caused by the pill or not - maybe you could try mixing up your workout routine. I'm not sure what you do for exercise, but if you run, try swimming...if you do an exercise video, try something different. If you lift…
  • Absolutely! I have one mix that I listen to just about 100% of the time. It's nice because it's easy and I can sort of ballpark my time at this point without having to look at my ipod...but I would like to expand. Currently the mix I listen to is Armin Van Buuren's state of trance episode 200 :) it's pretty sweet and lasts…
  • Welcome and congrats on taking your first step! MFP has been a great resource for me through many tribulations :) What's on your playlist? I am looking to expand mine :)
  • Guilty! Don't mean to lurk - my excuse is that I'm going to read "just one more" before I continue working on the paper from Hell, and...well okay that's a pretty bad excuse. Anyway...congrats on fitting into your wedding dress again :drinker:
  • ring snuggies! :)
  • I think setting up a goal/reward system is the best way to go, if you can manage it. It sometimes works for me, when I don't get impulsive and just reward myself anyway!! :D I like the idea of buying new jeans (or new ANYTHING really), but you could also try signing up for a race or other competitive event that you…
  • Thanks! One of these days I will get one :)
  • @azdak: That makes sense...thanks :) Now I don't feel like *quite* as much of a weakling! But boy are my legs sore today! @kaitlin: I know what you mean about "skinny fat" - that is why I decided to do strength training! I wanted to see some muscle under all that flab!
  • Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents as well. I was getting up at 5 to run 3 miles (normally get up at 5:45 verrrrrry reluctantly) but today I got up at 4:45 to do 4 miles. It depends on the kind of workout you want, too. If you just want to pop in a DVD and do 20 minutes - every bit helps! I too find that working out in…

  • It's all relative - do what your body tells you! For some people an "easy mile" will be 10 minutes - for me it's 12. Just take it slow and listen to what your body tells you. I haven't done C25K but I've heard great things about it. I also subscribe to Runner's World and the mag - and their website - definitely has some…
