In your original post you said you eat UNDER your goal. Typically, you should not eat UNDER 1200 calories a day. Try coming in slightly over 1200 calories. Also, what others mean by you're eating too little is that you should set your weight loss goal lower (and in turn will be required to eat more). MFP recommends a one…

How much under your cals are you. My baseline goal is also 1200 but I actually target being within 100 Cal's OVER just so you don't regularly land under that ominous 1200 calorie mark. When you do get some exercise calories in, do you eat them back? If not, you should! I do...and I am regularly losing weight and inches.…

Great job! You can tell you're much happier!! :)

Great job at grasping this. I obviously have a calorie deficit to lose weight, but I really don't feel like I'm eating "less". I am eating 1700+ calories per day (depending on exercise) and I never really feel like I'm on a diet. I am making better choices so I can actually eat MORE to get less calories than I was before!…

That being said, if you have had bad eating habits recently...then hunger is not a good way to determine whether you're eating enough. Your body has adjusted to what you have done in the past. A couple easy ways to get more calories... couple oz of cheese couple tablespoons of peanut butter a glass of milk an apple (or any…

I've heard that "not being hungry" is actually a sign of your metabolism slowing down. When you're eating the right amount of calories (INCLUDING THOSE EXERCISE CALORIES) AND you're hungry then you metabolism is doing great!! Eat your exercise calories...you WILL lose weight.

I'm glad you asked that. I too thought there was really not enough information provided to really offer advice. That's why I posted the link, so OP could read it and decide what applied.

I figured that was what you meant. I just wanted to make sure it was clear. :)

I too drink my gallon of water and don't see much water weight gain... Maybe drinking MORE water is key!!

And by the way...is two pounds really going to make that big of a difference before your vacation? Follow the plan this site lays out for you and you may naturally lose AT LEAST a pound in 29 days!

Clean healthy diet and exercise is the best way to lose weight. Diet pills are not a solution. And you can cause issues years down the road. I took them once, but am having much better success just following the plan this site lays out for me. It's obviously just your choice, but I would recommend a big fat NO!!!

I weigh every single week. Although, I really haven't had a regular TOM in forever. Getting off BC screwed me up for 6 months and then after that I've been either pregnant or breastfeeding for 2 years and 7 months!! (WOW) But I think we all know this TOM increases our weight...but we also all know that it is more than…

Although it is true that you need to eat more, the old wives tale of "eating for two" IS NOT CORRECT! You do not want to eat for TWO. What I have researched you only need to eat 300 calories more...and that is only in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. 300 calories is NOTHING! An ounce of cheese, a tablespoon of peanut butter and…

I think that it is just fine to continue this progress until you get pregnant. Afterward, I would discuss it with your doctor. Please don't accept advice from people on here that's it's OK for you to LOSE weight while your pregnant. I know you want to continue losing weight, but that developing baby is SOOOO much more…

You look fantastic!! Way to go! :)

Yes, you need to eat more. If your body thinks it's starving, then it's going to hold on to EVERY THING YOU PUT IN YOUR MOUTH!! This is survival mode! If your baseline calorie goal is 1200 (as mine is), then at the end of the day you should have your bottom number be slightly in the red. I always target anywhere from -1 to…

I think only you can make yourself want to keep pushing through. Read your profile everyday to remind yourself why you're doing this. Pull out pics of you at your heaviest and post them around your house to remind yourself of two things. One, where you don't ever want to be again. Two, how hard you've worked to get where…

You CAN eat them. 2370 calories is not an outrageous amount. Make your own decisions and if you don't want to eat them, then don't. But don't blame it on not being able to eat them. Most of us got overweight by overeating to begin with. So if this site lays out a plan where we can lose weight while still EATING, then why…

If you follow this plan to a T you WILL lose weight. That is given that you are counting things correctly. If you are guestimating what you are eating and guestimating what you are burning then there is a chance you will not lose...but if you are accuratly counting everything, you will lose weight. Just try it out for a…

Maybe you should up your calories to 1400 or 1500 AND eat your exercise calories. ??? I know a lot of people that started eating more and then jump started their loss again. If you're feeling like crap then it's not right for you. Especially if you were feeling good before while you were eating your exercise calories.
-
If you were at 1200 and NOT eating your exercise calories, then he was right...you probably weren't eating enough. If you set your goal to 1200 and exercise 500 - so you eat 1700 - then yes, you would be eating enough. My daily calorie goal is 1200 and I eat every last exercise calorie I burn...and that includes cleaning…

Many people have stated that MFP way undercaluculates daily protein goals. I wouldn't worry about your protein limit! I'm over almost everyday! I love me some protein! :)
-
I would first worry about getting more calories. Then you can fine tune your diet to adjust your sugar allowance. Also, if you're eating alot of fruits/milk/etc that has a lot of sugar in it, I wouldn't worry abou that. It's natural sugar and you're eating healthy foods!! :) Please eat more thant 750-900 on a regular…

I wouldn't consider eating more than 700 calories to be unnecessary. Your body needs fuel to be healthy. Isn't being healthy the point of all this?
-
Is this a daily thing? Or just a problem you've had today? If it's just today...then don't worry about it and move on to tomorrow. If it's daiily...try to add small snacks throughout the day. Add an apple here and there. Or a few tbsps of peanut butter and a glass of milk. Eat a couple oz of cheese. It's important to not…

Thank you for responding to this. I see alot of people make this same statement. This would be true for someone that did not adjust their diet. But for us on MFP the diet has been adjusted already. I feel like people fail to mention the calorie deficit they are already on when talking to nutritionists/dieticians/phyical…
-
We lose weight by having a deficit in our calorie intake vs. calories burned. MFP ALREADY calculates that deficit for you. When you exercise, you create an even BIGGER deficit...so you can eat more. If you don't eat them (depending on your baseline calories) you could do more harm than good. Most of us got into this…

That's not a small loss! You're already over half way to your goal in only 6 weeks. That's great!!! You can definitely notice the difference. Great job! Keep it up and you will be there in no time! :)

I don't think so. You need to refuel your body after a workout. Stay within your calories and I am sure you will do fine. I don't think the timing that you eat is as big of a deal as people make it.
