  • I love banana based pancakes, but using almond flour instead: http://www.geniuskitchen.com/recipe/banana-pancakes-eggless-14130
  • I love wonton anything..... I have put apples with cinnamon for an apple pie, made baked crab ragoons, and even made a "lasagna". It's a great alternative for bread and makes it fun. Next attempt to make one with scrambled eggs and turkey sausage so I have a breakfast on the go. (plus it doesn't hurt to look fancy too)
  • Exactly what Cidalia says... January 2012 I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes (totally skipped the pre-diabetic phase). I have dedicated myself to watching all that I ate, learned altertatives, and exercised a lot. I have lost about 50lbs and to this day my Dr says she can't believe how fast all my blood work has…
  • A ton healthier than a quick McDonald's run plus it's just as fast.
  • I know what I'm not making when I get home tonight!!!!!!
  • I saw this post the other day and ran out to get all the supplies.... and oh my goodness. It tastes better than Campbell's and so much healthier. I did use the GG broccoli with zesty cheese, which added some zing. I did the same as the original poster, I made it into 3 2cup servings (which I found a bunch of awesome…
  • Hmm, after reading this I know what I'm asking Santa for this year. I have a Diet Coke addiction. At my highest peak, I was drinking almost 3 liters a day. The McDonalds girls knew me as the large diet no ice (of course don't water my drink down). Since I've strated living healthier, I restrict myself to 20oz at most of…
  • Absolutely wanting to try this one!!!!!!!!!!
  • I work in a hospital setting and most of the time all I can do is snack. The best snack I found is the 100 calorie pack (or pack your own) nuts. I absolutely love the cinnamon roasted almonds (since I'm a diabetic I can't eat the sugar ones). Nuts are fullfilling and definitely easy to transport. Another item is freeze…
  • Bump-a-rooni.... I got to try this!! It's Pumpkin season so prices should be going down shortly and I stock up on pumpkin puree.
  • Mostly it's easy to do, just change a bit on what you do. Like baked instead of fried and reduced fat/calories instead of regular. I tried a bunch of recipes from Hungry Girl to help out. Check out: http://www.hungry-girl.com/biteout/show/2204 http://www.hungry-girl.com/newsletters/raw/1433 Chili is the easiest way to go.…
  • This is how we figured the amounts I came up with.... Mushroom Spinach Crustless Quiche Serves 4 Large Portions Ingredients: Cal Fat Sod Carb Sugar Protein Spinach 1/2cup 3 0 12 1 0 0 Sliced Mushrooms 1/2cup 10 0 8 1 0 1 Laughing Cow Swiss 2 wedges 70 3 420 2 2 4 Extra Virgin Olive Oil 1Tbs 120 14 0 0 0 0 Large Eggs 4 eggs…
  • I have tried this again (using different contents which were veggies and about the same nutrition), But I placed them in cupcake pan so I had individual ones. I had to cook for about 5mins more (since it wasn't spread out). Plus also if you use it as a sandwich insider. Just place between a low cal english muffin and bam,…
  • I was diagnosed with Type 2 the beginning of this year. After exercising and eating correctly (also losing almost 50lbs), all my numbers are back to normal and have been slowly being taken off the medicine. The hardest thing I had to give up was the sweets, but instead of giving up I changed up. Use dark chocolate instead…
  • Pinterest is my additiction. Just looking at the pictures is so sinfully good. I have discovered a lot of fun stuff. It also is so cool with finding exercises and a big boost on modivational pictures. Just "pin" it to your page adn you could get back to it when you need it. Each picture links back to the site that had it.…

  • I absolutely love the cauliflower pizza crust. Making it all the time and into medium size (100 calorie) sizes so I can enjoy all the time. I do have to try the faux alfredo sauce. It sounds amazing!!!!!
  • Hey Stacey, I'm not Aleyjewel, but thanks for checking my calculations. There's so many different "items" to select on using the mfp system that people have entered. I'm still shocked it was that low.
  • Totally bumping this one. I've been craving them, but the "baked" version wasn't as good. I might even try a dip for the first time too. Thanks!!
  • Yep I'm a Yankee, but I grew up with a southern Pa, so I know me some okra..... and I only know it being fried. Ohh does that bring up some recipes. I did find online that you could bake fry them which would be a lot healthier. I know my hubby tried to buy me a can of mixed veggies including okra, but it still scares me a…
  • I grill everything on it.... meats, veggies, and fruits!!! It drains the fat off of anything so it's good to use. I'm about to trade mine in shortly (had for about 10 years now and scrapped it too much after useage).
  • That's weird, I am about to try the spinach chips this week. I imagine the same as the kale chips I make. Just make sure you either use your salad spinner or press all the moisture out before baking. The other hint is that I use the pizza pan (with the holes) which dries it out also. I read on the boards here to use…
  • Thanks guys sooo much for the help, as usual! I think I'll be sauting it up and putting it with everything!!! I'm so excited over spinach (easily amused today). And yes curling in the summer. Pittsburgh has their bonspiel in July since we are an arena league. I'm actually going to Charlotte, NC next month for the "Grits…
  • Definitely bumping this one for later.... I haven't had my gummy worms since I became diabetic.
  • Hmm, when I think of Canada, I think of Maple, Bacon, and poutine.... I'm wondering if there's a healthy version of poutine....
  • I'm finally breaking down and going to try it next week. I'm just curious what you guys put on it. I'm seeing everyone putting regular sauce. I try not to use a lot of tomatoes (or sauce b/c of the sugar content). I just wanted to do an aglio n olio or just a little italian dressing cooked into it..... Thanks guys. I pray…
  • Adrye that sounds delicious... I'm now visuallizing making a couple tuna sandwiches with cukes as the bread. A little fancy and healthy.... yummy!!
  • Thanks guys.... I think my mind was only on bad stuff to mix with it. I think I'll be eating some cukes on a nice warm day (maybe not on the balcony- since I don't have one. LOL).
  • Thanks for the link. I'll have to try it. I can't get enough water in my diet. I'm always dehydrated and I've been using MIO (I have every kind), but been looking for something different.
  • @Catjag That sounds amazing... totally going to try that. I normally just add it to my shake. Absolutely loving it too!!
  • I work a weird all day shift 9-9, so I know what your going through. Usually I just have a couple stocks of celery with additives (if savory mood- ranch, but if sweet either low fat strawberry cream cheese, low cal pb, or yogurt mix). This way your getting more water which feels you up and it burns calories if you plan on…
