2012 has been a BIG year for me, health and fitness-wise! 1) Dropped from 144 lbs to maintaining between 120-125lbs 2) Went from not being able to run for 2 minutes to being able to run 5K in about 42 minutes 3) Dropped my body fat from about 33% down to 24% (estimations, of course, but still good) And I have sooo much…

I don't plan to drink tonight either. Maybe a small glass of champagne before bed, as I have to work in the morning! I started 2012 in healthy mode and ended it in healthy mode (and 20+ lbs lighter!) . I plan to do the SAME thing this year.

You look amazing, and radiant! You put in a lot of hard work and have earned every bit of this success! Congrats!

Hey Matt! Feel free to add me. I've been here over a year and have met many of my goals. MFP is wonderful! Have your wife add me as well if you are both on here! :)

20 flights of stairs sure doesn't sound sedentary to me! If I were you, I'd list lightly active...

What a tragic childhood you had! I cannot imagine what you went through, not knowing where your next meal was coming from. It sounds like it's time to work on developing a healthy relationship with food. I'm so glad things have worked out thus far. I'm here for support! Feel free to add me if you want friends to support…

You're right...a lot of them will refuse food. For those, I don't feel quite as bad passing them by and saying that I don't have money on me. But every once in a while, you find one who is really appreciative of anything you can give them. I live in a decent suburban area without many beggars, but one day I was shopping…

Congrats! That is an AWESOME NSV! Keep up the GREAT work! My NSV today was putting on my Old Navy Size 6 Jeans and them being so loose that I could pull them down without unbuttoning! Woo hoo!!!

I'm really sorry to hear about your sister. I work on an oncology floor as a nurse, and I've actually held the hands of patients as they passed away (for instance, when family wasn't able to make it in time). It's a very sobering experience, and it truly does get you thinking about your priorities in life. I think at times…

Fascinating! I bumped up my cals to 1500 because another website estimated my lightly active TDEE to be around 1850. I still want to lose a few more lbs and start to gain some muscle, so 1500 seemed good to me. I've been slowly losing at that level. This website, however, seems to think I can eat around 2300-2400 to…

Beautifully stated! This post needs to be pinned to the top of the board as a reminder of what's important! Thanks for posting! :flowerforyou:

*DROOLS* I want!!!!!! Those are freaking sexy as hell. And cost a whole paycheck. :(

That's amazing! As a nurse, I can appreciate the medical benefits of weight loss. I commend you! More patients need to follow your lead!

I saw this on Yahoo, and it was AMAZING. That girl is such an inspiration!

Hmmm... on a scratch off I won $100 last Christmas! In the slots, I once won $450! It was AMAZING!

I was never very good at running. Even in elementary school, I couldn't run a mile. My endurance was pathetic. When I started getting in shape last December, I noticed how many people used running as a great calorie burner. I knew I couldn't jump into being a runner, but at least I wanted to try. I did a lot of treadmill…

1. pops or kix? POPS! 2. apple jacks or apple cinnamon cheerios? Cheerios! 3. cinnamon toast crunch or golden grahams? Cinnamon Toast Crunch, hands down! 4. honey nut cheerios or honey bunches of oats? Cheerios, once again! 5. cocoa puffs or cocoa pebbles? Pebbles. They just taste better! 6. fruity pebbles or froot loops?…

I practiced the "art of unavailability." When they'd call, I'd let it go to voicemail. When they texted, I would delay answering them for a few hours. I was "busy". They start to get the picture. If he asks what's up, you could always just say that you're feeling more of a friend vibe with him, and that you have enjoyed…

I like my boobs and my butt. They've hung around through this journey, thank goodness. Starting to really love having curves!
-
Wow! Really? I could never get my running shoes on without untying the laces. I'm gonna ask my running store about this!

My calves are also too big for most boots. I've never measured them. I don't need to. They've been big for as long as I can remember. I get depressed when I see adorable boots on sale...cause 9 out of 10 times I can't zip'em up!

My ex-husband had a few very close female friends that I was not privy to hearing their conversations. He ended up cheating with one of them. I'm fine with my fiance having female friends. But if they are, indeed, just friends...well, there should be no reason to hide the conversations. He had a TON of female friends…
