Business Expo was really good today, but I am exhausted! Standing and walking around for 8 hours has to count for something! We made a lot of strong contacts, which should really help grow the pilot program I am working on. Proud that I made mostly good choices (the pasta salad looked really good and it was, but I only had…

Hey everybody!! Weekend was great-lots of food, drinks and laughs. The concert was fantastic-I even got a guitar pick thrown down my shirt! We were that close to the stage! It was a lucky shot, but I like to pretend Christian Bush was aiming. (Don't tell hubby!!) AND with all of that going on, I still lost 3 lbs! As for…

TGIF is right. Off for a weekend of sister bonding and a Sugarland concert. Lots of walking (we are planning to go to the aquarium nearby) and dancing at the concert. Daughter hasn't been around much lately, but I will talk to her Sunday and get back to you. Enjoy your weekend everyone!

I will ask my daughter (she is a hairdresser). But my hairdresser warned me that that might happen. So far it hasn't been a real issue for me, but then again, I cover the gray but don't use the dryer or straightener on a regular basis. Usually I just let it air dry. (Curly hair can be a blessing!)

I really did try to get up early to go for a walk-but it's dark outside! Tried walking with the TV, but didn't feel comfortable. Training is over tomorrow and on Monday I will start with what will be my "normal" routine. I just need to suck it up and stop at the gym on the way home. (It will be dark then soon too!)

It happened to me too! Glad I am not the only one. I was really starting to get worried, thinking maybe my gallbladder was acting up. It got better though and man-o-man did my appetite come back! Glad you got a run in (I'm sure it was driving you crazy!) but be careful! Pneumonia takes a lot out of you and you need to…

I just wanted to share that I am doing better on the water-although not perfect. Yesterday I got in 7 glasses and today I am at 8. Trying to hold myself accountable by posting here as well as in my diary. I am still having a hard time fitting in the exercise with the new job. By the end of the day I am exhausted (in a good…

I need short term goals or the amount of weight I need to lose just would not compute! My goals were in 25 lb increments, but for now I think those are too big and I need to focus on smaller goals (maybe 10 lbs). And I build in rewards for reaching them. It may be a new bottle of nail polish or a new book or something…

You will do it my friend. I've been about the same since the end of August too-that cruise really messed me up! (But sooo worth it!) This week is refocus! Step one will be to make sure I cut back again on my soda consumption and increase water up to the 8 cups a day. That is all I plan to focus on this week. Baby steps!

Congratulations on a fantastic week! You are right, no one posts much any more (me included!) and I think that needs to change for me. This really helped hold me accountable. This past week has been really tough, including starting a new job and the death of a very close friend of my boys in a motorcycle accident. I love…

I have the same issue-although I am doing better at it. For me, a lot of it comes down to confidence. As the weight has gone down, I am feeling better about myself and it is helping me believe in myself more.

So impressive! You have done a lot of hard work, physically and mentally. Congratulations!!

Fantastic!!

Great question! I am making that change myself in two weeks (after being home with my 5 kids for 30 years!) and was wondering how I was going to do it all. My commute isn't quite as far (60-90 min depending on traffic) but I will be driving all over the place visiting clients and offices. These tips will help me too! Good…

That's a great NSV! I love when my kids/family notice the changes and make positive comments. In fact, I love when my kids notice that I'm there!

Great idea!

As you know, steriods will do that. My son has Ulcerative Colits and was on steriods for months last year. Some tricks the nutrionist told us were to limit salt (think high blood pressure diet), eat protien, drink lots of water. Hmmm...sounds a lot like MFP! The difference for him was going very low sodium. He did not get…

Just google it. Brings up some great sites. Youtube has some really good video too and can be done at home without equipment. Good luck!

Sounds like you are doing the right things. Make sure to drink your water too! good luck on your journey.

well, it's a new week and I lost 5 pounds!! I did show a gain last week of 4 (the cruise was worth it!) and it is all gone along with another pound! It was hard this week though, getting into the groove. I hope everyone else had a wonderful week too!

For me, those goals you have (drink water, log intake, move daily) are the ones that help the most. I don't like to set date/weight goals-partly because I may not make it! What if you are "only" down 50 lbs. by your deadline? Would you feel like you did not succeed? I know I would-so I try to do other things like when I…

That's wonderful! Congratulations!

Congratulations! Doesn't it feel wonderful to fit someplace you couldn't before?

You are supposed to walk against traffic, so I would think the same would be true for running. It gives you a chance to get out of the way if a driver is an idiot. (Like this one was!) You were right. AND as a pedestrian, you have the right of way anyway. Don't let them discourage you!

That is fantastic! And the associates at my Lane Bryant did the happy dance with me when those size 22's zipped right up! They had almost as much fun as I did! Congratulations on all of your hard work!

Happens regularly! Feel great and then I see pictures and that is not how I feel! Eventually the outside will match what the inside is feeling-stronger and thinner every day!

Here is my blog about our cruise. It was so much fun! We are already talking about when and where we will go again-this time without the kids. There are some pictures too. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/maureendonahue

Do you WANT to be a doctor? Most doctors I know have families, so that is not a reason. The debt you would have to take on is considerable, but there are programs that would forgive the debt (or at least part of it) if you work in an underserved community for a few years. It is your life, and I believe you should go for…

Not a great week, but I was on a cruise! And it was fantastic! Now time to get back to work. Next week will be a lot better.

I think you look great and the dress is cute. And I love the shoes too! And Happy Birthday too!
