  • If we limit ourselves to 1 glass every day or so, I'm sure the cravings will be more manageable. I know it sounds crazy, but we don't have much left and we all have our little quirks; one of mine is an almost violence reaction against waste. I just can't bring myself to get rid of something that we can still use.
  • Oops, you're right; I should have double checked. I only used 1 tablespoon, but I was usually cutting my nut butter servings in half from 2 to 1, so I just assumed that I had done the same with the Biscoff. So, figure 1 tablespoon as your serving size.
  • I think this is just a genetic thing: For most of the population, stevia is great. For a small percentage, however, it affects the taste buds in such a way as to leave a bitter aftertaste. So, if you want to swtich to stevia, you'd probably be better off getting a small packet to try it out before investing in the large…

  • We tried something similar a while back, "Biscoff Spread." If I recall correctly, the serving size was 2 tablespoons; I would assume that this is pretty much the same (because that also seems to be the standard for nut/seed butters and other similar spreads).
  • We use it on occasion, and have packets of it in the cupboard (similar to restaurant sugar packets). We like it, and prefer to use it for baking in place of sugar.

  • Could be worse. Someone once said to my wife, "Well, you have nice skin, anyway..."
  • I like to do a couple of cups of spinach, a carrot, an apple, and a some frozen berries ... sometimes I add some water if it's a bit thick. You also might want to check this out: http://www.nomeatathlete.com/the-perfect-smoothie-formula/ Rather than a one-time recipe, it's a general formula that breaks the ingredients into…
  • There are plenty of vegans and vegetarians on here. Check in the "Groups" section and join "Happy Herbivores," "Team Vegan," "MFP Vegetarians" (the ones I belong to), or any of the (many) other veggie groups. Welcome to vegetarianism, and good luck!
  • My wife and I have a chocolate cockapoo who just turned 6, but acts like he's still a puppy. He's playful, incredibly bright, loving, and (on the downside) VERY vocal when he wants something... But we love him!
  • First of all, try cutting back, rather than going cold turkey. Try some of the healthier sodas out there (out of curiosity, I tried Zevia--a zero-calorie soda sweetened with stevia--cola and it was pretty good; I haven't tried their Dr. Pepper analog yet, though). You also might try making your own soda with seltzer and…
  • Glad you're enjoying it after day 8, Jlev. I just finished day 70 and I'm STILL enjoying the heck out of it! As I approach the end, one thing that occurs to me is that the nifty construction of the program means that I can mix segments to continue past the 90 days. Like, I could do the lower body workout from month 1…
  • This is true and great for vegetarians, but if you are a strict vegan, know that many of these veggie burgers do have some dairy or eggs in them. Subway is testing 3 totally vegan burgers in Washington DC, so let's keep our fingers crossed that they go over well and wind up going nationwide!
  • http://www.happycow.net/ They also have a Droid app; I would assume there's one for I-phone, as well.
  • My wife has the same problem with her friends at work, who keep complementing her on her weight loss and telling her, "I wish I could lose weight" as they stuff their daily potato chips and cookies into their mouths. So I'll tell you what I tell her. Just explain to them, "Look, you know as well as I do that there's one…
  • Good luck, tesseractyl! I hope you have as much fun with it as I do!
  • Well, this week I started month 3, and I'm here to tell you that these workouts are SERIOUS! Plyo, push-ups with claps in the middle, MMA workouts where you throw a couple of punches and then drop sprawled to the floor before you spring back up to throw the kicks... I can't remember the last time I had this fun exhausting…
  • Try these: http://www.youtube.com/user/BeFitin90 http://www.youtube.com/user/FitnessBlender There are also exercise apps for the Droid, and with a little bit of research, you can easily put together something yourself (there are lots of tips on NerdFitness.com). I wasted money on a gym membership for over a year, and have…
  • Actually, this reminded me of this TV gadget to make your own soda out of juice, tea, coffee, whatever: www.buysodamagic.com/ I thought this might be fun to get one of these days (not that it's real high on my "must buy" list, but maybe one day if I get some extra cash...) I also love making juices/smoothies in my…
  • You need some kind of resistance for the strength training (bands should work, but they used dumbbells on the videos, and I'm more comfortable with them). I just finished day 60, and I'm still really enjoying the program and feel happy with the results. I'm actually going to repeat days 57-60 so that I'll start the final…
  • I drank A LOT of soda growing up, but my tastes have changed and these days I find it too sweet for my tastes. And the sweetness keeps it from really satisfying my thirst. But I do enjoy the taste once in a while, especially when I'm having it with a strongly flavored food. I recently tried Zevia, a stevia-flavored,…
  • So, I hit the half-way mark today... 45 days! To be totally honest, I should have reached this point a week ago; I wound up losing a week due to some intestinal problems that had me laid up, but I just jumped right back in. And I'm still really enjoying the program. Bring on the second half!
  • My wife and I are both following the "Pooch to 5K" program (a variation of "Couch to 5K that lets you run with your dog), and we love it. Honestly a year ago, it you told me that I would actually ENJOY running, I'd have you committed. Of course, we've been doing it for @ 5 months, so we haven't tried running the really hot…
  • Next time somebody feels the need to comment, just ask them why all omnivores have to be so freaking preachy about what they eat...
  • Down 72 lbs in just under a year. My wife and I have been vegetarian for years, so we don't do meat/fish/poultry, and we limit our dairy, so we didn't really cut anything NEW out of our diets, but we had that going. We limit our sweets to (at most) 1 a day. Our biggest change was portion sizes; what we were eating was (for…
  • The wife & I are vegetarian going on vegan; feel free to add me. You also might want to search the groups; there are several there for us veggie types!
  • I'm just in the process of GETTING abs, but I've been pretty happy with the results so far. In addition to whatever workouts I do, I do a 10-15 minute ab workout 3 times a week (for me, Mon-Wed-Fri works best, but whatever). If you don't have ab workouts at home, there are TONS on YouTube. Something that really clicked for…
  • I'm with you on this... I still feel that the nice people vastly outweigh (no pun intended) the jerks, but the jerks tend to be more vociferous...
  • Yep, I hate her with the burning passion of a thousand suns.
  • Happy Anniversary! And I love your line: "My body is no longer a graveyard."
  • My wife heard about it from a girl @ her office, came home and joined. I joined the next day. A few months later, all the other girls at the office who signed up at the same time bailed. A year later, my wife & I are still on and have lost 150 lbs between us!
