I don't like them cooked anyway - grew up eating them raw as a snack while Mum was getting dinner ready.

Haven't been through a loss that big but was going to suggest maybe maintaining for a month to let people get their headspaces adjusted to your new size then getting back into it. However, with your December deadline I can understand that may not be viable and, as long as you're doing resistance training, the numbers…

I find two corn thins with 40g of reduced fat cottage cheese with chives quite satisfying and only about 90 calories.

I've seen it on tv in Oz but that's about it.

Well, for some of us it's 5.45 in the afternoon.

Do some resistance training - even if it's just with your own bodyweight. Eat more and eat more lean protein.

Two fish swim into a wall. One fish says to the other fish, 'dam!'.

Bugger the donut or candybar - I can finish a working feeling great but, by the time I've showered and dressed again, feel flabby.

A couple of corn thins with about 40g of low-fat cottage cheese, flavoured with chives - I find it helps with carb cravings and it's less than 100 calories. I've also been known to use plain cottage cheese with a teaspoon of brown sugar and a small handful of sultanas - not so low in calories but serves as dessert.

Very little difference, although I would suggest they have to have the moving arms to be a Cross-trainer.

I've found my hands do when I'm walking outdoors - just assume it's because they are swinging at my sides and gravity is making it hard for blood/fluid to get back up. I don't notice it on a treadmill or other cardio equipment in the gym.

I'm a great procrastinator when it comes to things that I should be doing - good on you for procrastinating with something positive!

Apparently, if you never get a chance to wind down and have a constant underlying level of stress, cortisol levels remain constantly raised and this can encourage your body to store abdominal fat.

I've got the will power problem - no matter what might be in the drawer, I'll develop an appetite/hunger to eat it!

I find shakes feel don't feel like I'm eating (although I realise this isn't a meal replacement product) so mix them with natural yoghurt and, if necessary, extra cocoa. Add some strawberries or banana (when affordable!) and it's like a morning tea treat. Can be helpful when you're trying to eat a higher protein/lower carb…

Just see if you can confirm the usual price from another source. Also, have you used that product before? That's a lot of protein shake if you don't like it.

May be the particular variety as well - I know I was using an Atkins Shake that contained fake sugar at it caused particular odour problems.

B Complex - they help with converting food/fat into energy.

WOW! Surely it's your choice/decision if and/or when you will give your clothes to anyone! Although she apparently doesn't think she should try and lose weight?

This might be one you're thinking of - I've tried a couple but haven't really tweaked it enough to get it really good: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/258089-low-carb-microwave-muffin?hl=low+carb+microwave+muffin#posts-3409021

In a cheddar style, I recommend 'You'll Love Coles Reduced Fat Tasty' - the large block is currently $8/kg and it isn't plasticy as reduced fat cheese can be.

I believe some vitamins (eg. B, C) are good to take in the morning as they help energise/wake you up. Calcium can be better taken at night as it may contribute to sleep quality. Importantly, don't take calcium at the same time as iron as it blocks iron absorption.

From the liver cleansing diet - mash up with spring onions and a squirt of lemon juice (to stop browning) then spread on wholegrain toast with cracked pepper. I also sometimes add sliced tomato on top.

Keep counting calories, choose Low-GI when you are planning Carbs in particular. Low-GI is all about how food affects your blood sugar levels and triggers insulin, originally designed to help with diabetes it helps avoid sugar rushes followed by crashes where you crave more sugar.

It's my understanding that cardio machines will give you more accurate feedback on calories burned if you put your weight in - otherwise they will use their default setting. Heavier people burn more calories as they have more mass to move.

Maybe once conversation is well underway at your next meeting, you could try gently asking her if she realises how much she talks in those ways? Especially if you value her as a person, this might help her grow/learn something about herselt.

1). Success is the best revenge - don't let the ex-boyfriend's decision to break up with you be the outcome that wins and makes you lose out. 2). If anyone comments on your weight gain at the party just acknowledge that you have gained, there've been things going on and that you've got to get back on top of it - and mean…

The training effect on a muscle from the last time you 'stressed' it in a workout starts to fade after 3 days if you don't 'stress' it again but I wouldn't imagine that the rate of loss of lean muscle tissue is very fast. The problem with losing muscle weight is more that your base/resting metabolic rate will slow over…

I agree - those who think spelling doesn't matter as long as people can understand clearly have no comprehension of how uncomfortable it can be to read terrible spelling.

I'm a little like that with my sister - when we lived together and shared groceries she couldn't see any reason to avoid having choc biscuits in the house because it wasn't a problem for her but then would criticise what I ate or wore, claiming she was being 'supportive' to help me get my weight down.
