I work with someone in his late 20s who could give me the names of the characters in Yo Gabba Gabba. He has no children and lives with no children. Now THAT is wrong!

I've been there in the past, however, this time around I noticed nearly every pound I've lost and it has been very encouraging. I can guarantee that your body has undergone a TON of changes - you just weren't paying attention. If you are like me, then when you are at your heaviest, you tend to not look at yourself - not…

While in college - a calculator. and not the cool graphing kind that I actually needed for my classes. Just a standard, sun powered calculator with your standard functions...the kind they almost give away for free for opening up a checking account or something....

apples are in season now :) They have fiber to fill you up, so always a good choice! I also look for individual sized microwavable frozen veggies - be careful though and make sure the calorie content of these stick within your budget - usually around 120 calories, but they are definitely filling and nice to have when you…

I remember hitting that milestone! Happy Dance for you!!! Keep up your good work!

Great job - and even greater time!!! Way to go, complete stranger that I am very happy for and proud of! :) Under 35 minutes sure is something to be proud of!

I'm interested in any answers....but my problem is with leg strength...My right knee causes me problems, but when I do some strength training with my legs to help with my knee pain, I notice that my LEFT leg is much weaker than my right....

You look amazing, and I love that hair cut/color on you!! It is very flattering to your face! Congratulations! I have 5 more pounds before I get out of the 'overweight' BMI range :) I can't wait to join you!

I couldn't run a mile when I did my first race a couple weeks ago. Just pace yourself so you can finish strong - run intervals 4-5 minutes run, then a minute walk....that way you don't feel like you want to collapse half way through! Good luck!

I'm thinking hamster ball with a portable heater? middle-school kid sized hamster ball, of course :) OH! maybe enough room for a friend too?

Once you lose 25-30 pounds, you will only need to look in the mirror to find the reason to not eat that candy! Until then, keep in mind that you have a long term goal you do not wish to sabotage with candy! Oh...and have your child/children hide the stuff you REALLY like ;) Another thought - find your favorite candy -…

I use the Pampered Chef rice steamer to steam my veggies - I use this thing almost every day! It does an amazing job with very little water! I'm telling you, this thing is awesome! I highly recommend!

You are worth new clothes. If you can afford them, get them. You have worked very hard to be where you are. What I did: I went to a several stores (ended up at Marshalls) looking for clothes that looked good on me and I bought a handful of items that were cheap, but could hold me over until I hit my goal weight as I know…

I agree with others - don't use food to reward yourself! :) How about getting yourself a book you've wanted to read - or an audio book you can listen to while exercising? A new cd or set of music mp3s? How about some good smelling bath and body stuff (soaps and lotions)? I highly recommend rewards that you can enjoy over a…

I'd like to hear input as well... bump!

You had me at 50 crunches :) You rock! Thanks for the exercise motivation!

Here's one of those articles debunking the myths: http://www.livestrong.com/blog/blog/5-surprising-health-myths/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=111004

Lots of articles say that the whole eating 5-6 times a day is a health myth and that all that really matters is that you at least eat what you should during the day, and it doesn't matter when or how many times you sit down to eat it OR what time of day you eat. You will see about a billion different answers to your…

I did intervals for my first 5k....I was capable of running for 8 minutes straight, but I didn't do that. I cut the time in half and did intervals where I ran 4 minutes and walked one....it kept me moving strong throughout the full race and I didn't get too tired near the end, but was still pushing myself! I did all this…

Oh man! I know how stressful and frustrating that must be! Maybe you aren't drinking enough water on the days you are working out? I hope you figure it out or someone else has better advice!

Yeah, because it makes perfect sense that because she endorses a bad product, you should use her good ones for free! I mean really, if you work hard for your money and have a skill that others are willing to pay for, you really should just give it away. How greedy is that? We should ALL be working for the good of everyone…

Hi! I use measuring tools online to figure out the distance I went. Then, I use the time it takes to complete the run and figure out how fast I went (I usually go about 4.5 miles per hour overall). I then use MFP to log it as moving 4.5 mph for the length of time for the run/walk and MFP tells me how many I burn! I use…

I'm considering the NordicTrack 1750 -it has a built in wireless Polar Heart rate monitor and iFit, which looks entirely too awesome! I've seen it priced at about $1500

I've always been told asphalt is the worst surface to run on, followed by cement.... I am running/walking a 5k in a couple of weeks and I am just starting week 5 tomorrow. I mapped out a 3.1 route near my house. If I walk fast the whole time, it takes me only an extra minute or two compared to when I do my c25k runs. I…

I hate the idea. I am on this journey by choice, not because my government needs to tell me what is good for me or not. Of course, I also don't think there should be a sin tax on things like cigarettes and alcohol either. If I want to shove 60 twinkies down my throat, then that is my choice. I don't think the government…

That's not small to me! That's a great, big, huge NSV! Congrats to you and your journey to be healthy!

Posting this as a topic is sure to bring some MFP folks ranting! Anyways, as long as you are eating healthy and the doc is giving you his blessing, I say good luck to you! :)

Nope. Don't tell on her. She is your friend and you have to continue working with her. Since you aren't severing these ties, you don't want to make the situation worse. You need to explain to her how upset you are at what she did. Explain to her what you do in order to help her out when she makes mistakes. Ask her to have…
