  • MFP works so that it does not take into account your exercise. So...it says eat ~1600 calories. Then you log 400 calories burned due to exercise....boom - 1600 + 400 = 2000 calories you are to eat that day. With the amount of exercise you do, I don't think this will be a huge deal for you.
  • I am 5'8" as well and when I lost weight before the baby, I got the same responses from my family and friends. I also had a goal of 150 pounds (I got pregnant at 160). You are doing fine and just keep at it! You will NOT look sick or too skinny. You will look amazing. Your friends and family do not see you naked so they…
  • Since vacation season is hitting, I'd like to suggest some places up near the Lake Erie Islands! In a town called Port Clinton, you can get some of the best local perch and walleye at the Jolly Roger - absolutely excellent! A little further down between Port Clinton and Marblehead (Catawba Island area) , check out Mon A…
  • **zoom in on an aging, wrinkled old man with inexplicably beautiful women surrounding him*** "I don't always drink coffee, but when I do, I count it" "Stay thirsty, my friends!"
  • Amazing. Really. Thanks for sharing this!
  • I spoke with my doctor and he said it was okay to eat about 1800 (maintenance for me) until I get about halfway through my second trimester and then add a couple hundred calories. I've really only been eating maintenance calories and I've still gained 6 pounds so far, all of which I've gained in the past 4 weeks (I'm 18…
  • I am 5 feet 7 inches and I started at 200 pounds. I did exactly what MFP told me to do and lost 40 pounds before I got pregnant. I set my goals in the beginning to lose 1-1 1/2 pounds and lowered that as I got closer to my goal weight. I always ate back my exercise calories, but also religiously stayed within my calorie…

  • voting for talking to the doctor!!! My doc has me eating just my maintenance calories up until I am 20 weeks - and I am normal size (now)! I am nearly 15 weeks and I've gained nothing so far and my doctor is very happy with that. Every woman is different, so have a serious discussion with your doctor and see what they say…

  • Not as much fun as a class, but it is fun :)
  • This was the same for me as well. I actually logged onto this site with a completely negative outlook. However, as I looked around, I got highly motivated and just *knew* that this time, I could make it work. The transformation took about a week to a month of logging. A week to get motivated and another month to realize…
  • Counting calories is what did it, but it is not what kept me motivated to continue, because I've done that before... It was the learning process from reading through the forums, the motivation I received when seeing a complete stranger hit a milestone, and the knowledge that what I was doing would work eventually, without…
  • This is shear wealth envy, nothing more. It is a shame that anyone who has worked hard and has the money/assets to prove it is looked down upon as being a cheater in our society. That is a shame.
  • I was wondering if those brownies tasted any good! I think I'll pick up a box next time I am in the store - Thanks!
  • Love this!
  • Are you eating back exercise calories? I'd eat back at least half of them... I haven't been there yet, but I'm told that losing the last bit of weight is much harder than losing a big bulk of it as your body is happy with a little extra fat on it and therefore fights you tooth and nail to hold onto it! Just keep it up -…
  • Not sure I understand why Runkeeper would *need* Internet to keep track of GPS? I mean, I understand that I would not be seeing any map data WHILE I was running, but GPS data being captured would not need an internet connection, right? That's why I ask if Runkeeper is able to work without an internet connection, because I…
  • Anyone know if Runkeeper will work on an Iphone that no longer has service? I have wifi at home, but it basically works as an ITouch, but with GPS.... In other words, does runkeeper require an internet connection to run while being used or can I use it to monitor my run and then come home and 'log' it?
  • Congrats to all you newly announced graduates! I'll have to add a column for those who have done the program twice! • I think your body does adjust a bit to the change in calories. I find myself hungry between meals now, but it is not a STARVING type hunger. I also have learned that finding low calorie snacks that can help me make it to my next meal (like a handful of carrots) do help. Keep track of the type of food you are eating - that…
  • There's a group for that :) http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/30-couch-to-5k-running-program-c25k Congrats on getting to week 2 - Keep on moving, you are more capable than you may know - or at least that was the case for me! I didn't think I could run for more than a minute ever! My last run was 28 minutes :)
  • I had all kinds of knee problems though out my C25k runs - made me take all summer to get to where I am now, in the last week! It is so frustrating to have to sit and wait for a knee to feel better! Finally, I went to see a doctor, who gave me a slew of exercises and stretches to do on a daily basis. I've been going strong…

  • This is so interesting to me! I have been doing all my running outside, but I get a treadmill on Sunday and it's quite interesting to see how everyone differs using the treadmill to accomplish c25k! You all are doing great! Maybe since I am almost done with c25k, I do it again on the treadmill with a decent incline :)
  • Thank you Thank you, and Thank you for your responses! I will have to check these out! By the way, it was a beautiful day to start my last week - TWO more runs to go!
  • I've heard this referred to as 'chub rub' ;) I am beginning to believe that while this has lessened in me by leaps and bounds, I may not be bowlegged enough to ever not have chub rub. It would be nice to be wrong about this though ;)
