  • I love this recap. You told your story beautifully, and what a challenging and rough run that was! Congratulations!
  • Welcome! My little lady just turned 7 months last week and aside from starting some veggies/fruit at 6 months, she's all EBF! There is a diary entry where you can log negative 500 calories into your diary. I have been eating all of those calories in addition to whatever MFP estimates what I eat to avoid dropping my supply.…
  • Just popping in to say GOOD JOB, MOMMA. One year is a huge deal, and you should be so proud of yourself. :)

  • I don't have any tips for you, but I want to say that you're awesome for making it a year. :)
  • Yes ma'am! My lefty seems to be my champ breast as well. It's my understanding that it's not unusual for one breast to produce more than the other, even when you try to nurse/pump equally.
  • So true! I seem to be back on track (making enough plus a little extra), so I feel a little bit better about the situation. But man, I've been super ravenous lately! It's tough to always make good decisions when you feel starving all the time.
  • High five on another week ladies! (Sorry, I know you all appreciate this here!)
  • I'm in the same boat! After sleeping well for a few weeks, I think my five month old is going through a growth spurt and often waking in the night again. I have been SO tired, and have minimal motivation. Thank you for all of the tips, girls. Keep 'em coming. :)
  • I added you too, @kristin41080! The support is CRITICAL. I'm having a rough pump week, ladies. I used to feel like I produced PLENTY, and these past two weeks, it seems like I make just enough to get by. Stressful!
  • I just added you! I'm a first-time mom of a 22 week girl. I work full-time (went back around 11 weeks) and am pumping three times per day. Trying to strike that magical balance between getting enough calories to make the milk and not pack on the pounds. My real challenge has been getting back to my running routine. I am…
  • I don't have personal advice about the biting since my baby doesn't have teeth yet (luckily), but I have heard that pressing the face up against the breast until baby releases is a good way. They can't get a good latch and it forces them to release Good luck!

  • Back here again, ladies! Today, I celebrate five months of EBF along with another week of successfully pumping. Hooray to all of us!
  • I'm going to send you a request! My little girl is 20 weeks and I'm hanging onto my last ten pounds pretty tightly. I'm trying not to worry about it though. It's more important that I continue BF than lose those 10 lbs right now.
  • You gals are SO amazing! I'm almost 5 months in and still going strong...seeing you complete one year plus more motivates me to keep at it!
  • You are so amazing to donate! What a wonderful gift you are giving to other mothers. :) Pumping is awful, but at the same time, I feel connected to my baby when I do it. I have a feeling when it comes time to wean from the pump, I will be partly sad.
  • I'm jealous of you for not pumping, but you're AWESOME for doing it for so long. Gives me hope and motivates me to keep at it. My little girl is about 4.5 months, and I've been pumping for almost two months now. Blahhhh. But through all the annoying bits, she's worth every single trip down the stairs to the lactation room.…
  • Yep, that's exactly what I was talking about. I had those same worries, but we seem to be managing fine. I am sending you good milky thoughts for today!
  • Oh, I don't blame you for wanting the sleep! That's a pretty decent sleep schedule! My suggestion to you is to try to wake up about an hour before he does, so maybe 5 a.m. I have a feeling you'll get a pretty good pump then. Even if he wants to eat right after you're done pumping, your breasts will still have plenty for…
  • First of all, take a deep breath, Momma! Pumping is SO stressful, and I am with you, I worry about each and every ounce. First things first, make sure you are eating enough during the day and drinking enough water. I like to make sure I have tons of snacks (healthy ones) at work so I can nosh all day long. But you've gotta…
  • This is all super-interesting to me. While we're not there to solids yet (A is only about 4.5 months), I am a planner and like to know how best to prepare for this new adventure. :)
  • I made a delicious one that was slow-cooked and savory. It had chicken broth, white wine, tomatoes, shallots, tomato paste, parm cheese, and basil. I topped it with a fried egg. It was almost like a risotto.
  • The mom guilt is the WORST. But you know what, it's OK to take care of yourself too. That's what I keep telling myself. Babies need happy, stress-free (or light) and healthy moms! Yeah, I was going to get up and attempt to run this morning, but I only got about three hours of sleep and I didn't have the energy to go. PLUS…
  • Thanks, all, for your suggestions. It's been a rough couple of days. I fear we are plunging headfirst into the four month sleep regression, so sleep has been so difficult. I'm pretty sure I just need to quit whining and making excuses and just do it a couple of times a week after she goes to bed. She goes to bed between 7…
  • Brag on, mama! I'd be doing the same. Enjoy that good feeling, you've earned it! I got seven hours a couple of times last week and was feeling pretty good about my life. And thanks for the words about sleep deprivation. I really needed to hear them today. :) (Rough night last night.)
  • What kinds of foods did you use for the baby-led weaning? This is the approach I'd like to take. My daughter is just over four months and doesn't seem to have any interest, but I was thinking after five and a half months, giving it a go (per our ped's recommendation).
  • Yep, exactly us too. I think we might be ready for another baby sooner rather than later, so I didn't want to venture into the IUD waters. I have friends that have loved them, but I'm with you, they scare me!
  • My hormones have been so out of whack, I didn't want to risk making them worse with hormonal birth control...we've opted for the super fun condom option. Husband isn't pleased, but I think he'd be less pleased if I tweaked with my hormones further. ;)
  • Thank you for all of the encouraging words, gals! She has been eating well before bedtime and has been waking at least once (sometimes twice) in the past couple of nights and getting a good nursing session in. She just doesn't nurse in the morning right before I drop her off and will wait to nurse til she's winding down…
  • The pediatrician described this as potentially a nursing strike? It has gotten worse, as my poor baby had her four month shots on Friday. She's been beyond fussy and will openly reject the breast when I turn her on her side as I usually do. She will eat really well when she gets up in the middle of the night, and…
  • Thank you so much for your responses, ladies. I feel somewhat better knowing that this isn't completely weird. Hopefully the pediatrician confirms this!
