You can change your tastes. The more you eat something, the more likely it'll be that you will eat it. I used to hate mushrooms: the texture, taste, everything. But I know they're super healthy for you so I began eating them. At first just raw on salads, now I use them extensively in cooked dishes. Just keep eating…

You're paying for the inflated cost of food at the restaurant. The server's job is to SERVE you. That's how they earn their tip. Ask away!

I read about bananas and how they were originally marketed to Americans as an exotic fruit that then became a staple. The story kind of weirded me out, especially after they were genetically altered to be twice their natural size because Americans "needed" bigger and bigger convenience fruit. They're never ripe when…

What do you do with the other half? Throw it away?

I watch Netflix while I'm working out. Makes it more justifiable =)

When I started 30DS (Level 1) I was burning about 300 calories. I am 5'8", 187 lbs. Now (on day 7 of the program) I am burning 275 calories at the same weight, averaging 165 bpm heart rate. I have a polar heart rate monitor. I think your 520 calorie estimate is far too high.

A weekend trip!

I get bad migraines if I get too hungry. Sometimes I don't know I'm hungry until it's too late and I'm stuck with the pervasive headache. Could you be dehydrated? Or having hormonal changes?

I agree with the original poster. Cleaning is just adding extra activity to your day, like going from "sedentary" to "moderately active." I would not even attempt to calculate cleaning calories. I've got better things to do! Plus, I am so not an enthusiastic house cleaner so I think it would take me about 2 days to hit 500…

It's not going to lose its effectiveness if you don't do it every day. In fact, it might be better to give the muscles time to heal before continuing on. Exercise is exercise; you'll see the benefits no matter when you choose to do it.

Vegetable: Fresh home-grown garden peas! It's a shame you can only get these for a few weeks out of the year in the garden! Fruits: Fresh home-grown cherry tomatoes, heated from the sun and picked fresh from the vine. Omg, yum! Ripe, plump, organic red cherries are a close second!

As long as you don't have diabetes or blood sugar control problems, they are fine. They are more nutritious with the skin on. Just remember that most of those nasty Russets in the conventional grocery stores are about 2.5 servings a potato, so you're not really intended to eat the whole thing. I love to get smaller,…

Bob's Red Mill Old-Fashioned Gluten Free Rolled Oats ARE gluten free. I recommend them! The gluten in oats is there because they are contaminated while being processed. Clean oats in themselves don't contain the gluten protein.

Yes, this is my favorite processed gluten free bread. It's not so dense, cakey, and yeasty as most GF breads. It's expensive and the slices are very small, but it is at least the consistency of "real" bread.

Woohoo, good for you! The more frequently you push yourself to exercise, the easier it gets. It can become a natural part of your life if you keep at it!

I don't eat wheat because I can't. At first, I felt limited in my food choices, but now--after a few months--I no longer feel that way. I can cook some great stuff, and it's easy to find wraps, bread, etc at the health food store that don't contain wheat. They often contain things like rice or ivory teff. I even think…

White flour is more likely to result in an increased insulin response after a blood sugar spike. For weight loss, the higher fiber, less processed whole grain flour is better because you're not getting such big blood sugar spikes.

It's on Netflix Watch Instantly if you have access to that.

I put half a sirloin tip roast in a crockpot. I use grass fed and organic only. Then I add seasonal root vegetables of my choice (carrots and sunchokes are really good!), by placing them on the sides of the crockpot, around the roast. Cook on low during the afternoon, and it's ready for dinner. Meat should come apart…

Good for you! It sounds like you know what you want. It sounds like you have a lot on your plate, but there is a lot of support here. I wish you the best of luck in getting through this chapter in your life :)

I don't eat the same thing every day, unless there's something in the house that I really need to use up. 1/2 cup of blueberries for a few breakfasts in a row for example, because they'll spoil otherwise. I would think it would be very difficult to maintain proper nutrition without enjoying a varied diet. For me, weight…

It sounds like you have a lot going on in your life right now, emotionally. With all the stress you're under, do you think you'd be able to lose weight as effectively even if you were able to stick to your weight loss regimen faithfully? Maybe--and this is just a thought--maybe now is not the best time for you to be taking…

When you have a cold, you need fluids and rest. If you're sweating when working out, you could be losing too many fluids. Depending on how bad your cold is, you could overexert your body, which means you need even more rest. When I'm sick I feel weak, and there's no way I could do strength training.

It's really ironic to me that we're all talking about our husbands as if they're picky toddlers who won't try anything.

I kept a handwritten journal when I first began losing weight. It worked for me, but I lost weight more slowly. I lost maybe 12 lbs over a summer, with daily exercise. I didn't know about this site then, though. Now that you've used this site and have an idea how of many calories are in serving sizes, you will probably be…

My husband and I eat the same healthy foods. I save a little extra calories for dinner so I can make something that's 400-500 calories if I want to. Then he'll just eat a larger portion. For instance, tonight we had salads but he put on extra feta cheese, olives, and extra salad dressing to make it more calorie dense. Then…

Depends on what you look like. I like the second picture from the top; I tend to like guys with slightly longish wavy/slightly curly hair.

A giant salad: tuna, feta cheese, avocado, mushrooms, turnips, baby salad greens, arugula, candy onions. Can't wait :)

For a sweet craving, I like to indulge in dried fruit like raisins or apricots. Sometimes even some dark chocolate-covered ginger. For a salt craving, I like roasted peanuts. Sometimes I mix the peanuts with the dried fruit and I nab two cravings in one shot :)
