And have gone for 3 yrs straight now. Can I ask what your calorie burn is?? I also go to a gym after Jazzercise and take classes like ballet bar, yoga,…

I have never had sucess giving something up and losing weight. I know some people have but not me. I have given up diet coke no loss. I gave up dairy - no loss. I gave up white bread - no loss. I do go to starbucks every morning but my drink is either 130 or 170 calories a day. No reason to give it up, first off I wont…

Weight Watchers started making fruits and veggies not count in calories is because if you only have 100 calories left to eat, people would eat a cookie instead of an apple. Making the choice not to use their calories on the healthy fruits and veggies. If you find yourself not eating fruits and veggies because you would…

Thanks! I also work out on average 2 hours a day. Eat between 1200 - 1400 calories a day. This is just maintaining me. So far it's been a year of the 2 hour workouts, but not sure if this is a lifetime lifestyle. Would love to see the weight come off and not maintain. Some days I feel the 2 hour workouts wear me out.

Would like to hear details to your sucess. how many calories do you eat a day? how many calories do you burn working out?

Maybe stay on track 6 days a week and have a cheat day one day. That may keep you on track longer. When you do well for weeks you maybe feeling deprived or worn out. Having a cheat day may make your healthy goal go longer. I try to eat good 80% of the time. 20% would be the extra treats I also work out 6 days a week with…

You can add me. Weight loss is more of a struggle in our 40's but not impossible. Everyone needs to find what works for them. This is a great site to share journeys and find what works for us.

I would say kick up your exercise. You arent going to burn much on a 30 min walk. That would be more heart healthy then calorie burn. It's a step in the right direction.

Hopefully you have friends & family who will invite you over for dinner  that can save $$

Love Honey and Peanut butter together in a toasted sandwich. Or a honey drizzle on a toaster waffle. Always can add to a smoothie for sweetness.

Dont think about it one way or the other. A shirt would help from getting a sun burn. I see lots of young men wearing the SPF shirts.

For years I always had a diet coke with lunch it gave me a kick for the rest of the afternoon. After hearing all the bad things about it - I decided to detox from it and see if I could do it. After several months I tried a diet coke again and I had a major crash (so Tired) about 2 hours later. I feel worse drinking it now.…

I always hear "are you eating enough?" - I have been to a nutritionist and she thought it was crazy to eat back all the calories you burned. If you have a lite workout add about 100 calories & if you have a heavy workout then add 200 calories. That being said I struggle with eating the low calories everyday when working…

My daughter suffers from depression but doesn't have the motivation to work out. Any suggestions to get her moving? Overweight too. Glad to hear it is working for you and your friend. I know after I work out in the mornings I am a happier better person.

I have 2 Beagles and they are not going to work out with anyone :) They either run so fast they choke on their collars and gag or they will lay down in the middle of the trail and take a nap. We have been known to carry one home because he was too tired to walk. This is been trying off and on for 10 yrs. Taking both and…

Do you have a heart rate moniter that tells you what you burn in your workouts? I found out that calories the site extimates for us isn't always the correct number. Mine are sometimes half the calories. And Good Question is - Is it working for you?

One suggestion was instead of doing a lot of cardio that could do more harm then good, to go for the strength training. Longer lean muscle burns more fat. Also talks about petite women having more water retention and have higher stress levels. Talks about the plateu most petites go through. I found it very informational. I…

My nutrionist suggested not eating back the workout calories. If I burn low calories 100-300 just add a 100 calorie snack. If it's over 300 calorie burn add a 200 calorie snack. I know everyone has different calories and burn, but it has helped me to know what to eat back. Good luck & have a great monday

If this was a spin class I would say you burned more then around 200 calories! Your heartrate moniter would have a better reading, but you may want to go in between not to over eat.
-
I use the FT60 Polar HRM. I dont think good and cheap go together. You may not get an accurate reading. Look for one that has you put in a lot of data to get your results.
-
What about 5:30 am? Is that better?
-
No I would not count it! If I did a all day cleaning and was out of breath and broke sweat - I would put in some time for calorie burning but not the whole time. I would hate to eat a bunch of food thinking I burned it cleaning.

Thanks for all the advice!!
