  • You all need to stop posting these pics. With Trump striding toward victory you will only encourage mor Americans to flood out shores! LOL!
  • Popcorn is my kryptonite. It's the one carb I let myself enjoy. My wife and I are big movie fans and when we go to the theatre we always have popcorn. I no longer have the diet pop and stick with club soda but I won't give up the popcorn. I have not found it to cause me any issues when I have it just once every few weeks.
  • We did Disney in Feb of this year. It was my first trip while eating keto. My strategy was basically to eat a huge breakfast at our hotel room (had a kitchen) then not eat while at disney other than a small packet of almonds which I just bring along. Then I eat a good dinner (steak). We did eat at the rainforest Cafe which…
  • Adjust your scale so that when u wake up tomorrow it reads 199. Celebrate a little and then just stay on track with your woe and before you know it you really will be in onederland. Or adjust it up by another five pounds so you dont appear to be so close. Bottom line, take the pressure off yourself so that the goal line is…
  • I like Shrimp as a high protein no carb choice.
  • SSorry for the late reply. I've never experienced any ill side effects and from my understanding it has been around for a very long time. I've been taking it for about 7 years without any issues. When I first went on it my Doctor gave me a different med that was meant to help me adapt to taking the allopurinol. I think it…
  • I have gout. Doctor prescribed Allopurinol which I take daily. It has been around for several decades and is easy to adapt to. Haven't had a flare since taking it and I can eat whatever I want. My diet now is mainly protein and fat. I tried to resist taking the meds but finally got fed up with the pain which had become…
  • I haven't been able to read all the replies so maybe someone already mentioned this. I have found that with this WOE I don't need to eat all the time. I would try to eat a huge breakfast with three eggs some bacon maybe a sausage then just don't eat until evening. If you get very hungry eat a handful of almonds to take the…
  • Oh, and thank you for you off handed comment about marinas and kayaks. This is an activity that I want take up but I living in a condo I have no where to store a kayak. I never even thought of the Marina option.
  • I echo your sentiments. I've been an "observer" of life in many respects for years and years. I too want to be an active participant. You can do it! I've lost 80 lbs in the past seven months and I am already beginning to reap the rewards. Last week I flew to Toronto for the day (only a 50 minute flight) on a small commuter…
  • Dark chocolate
  • I did a few
  • I see no problem with cheese. Good fat and protein. Avoid carbs. I have tried to adopt this WOE as a permanent change. For me that means I do it all the time. Not just during the week. So if I want to have a treat on a Wednesday I do. I just try to make it a low carb treat (I would consider the Brie a treat). My wife and I…
  • Ive had similar issues in "the little room" and 750mg to 1000mg mag citrate definitely does the trick. Experiment with the mag and find the amount that works for you.
  • @sunny_bunny_ gave me great advice on Magnesium citrate for constipation. I now take about 1000mg every other day or so. Definitely helps keep me more regular which is very important for me.
  • Most of my fat comes from: butter, bacon grease, HWC, animal fat and nuts. I pretty much never eat any oils. I don't have a need for them in any great quantity.
  • I haven't eaten bread in so long I just don't even think about it anymore.
  • I eat zero snakes but have three eggs virtually everyday. The only days I don't eat eggs are on those when I am IF.
  • @panda_poptarts congrats! I couldn't do 40 of anything. @fvaisey that is fantastic! You might have actually saved someone's life. Sounds dramatic I know, but it's possible.

  • Through changing my WOE to a LCHF I have learned that everything I thought I knew was horse crap. We are all different and most of what we have been led to believe as Gospel truth just isn't. We don't all need exactly eight glasses of water for example. An apple a day does not in fact keep the doctor away. Boneless…
  • Wow! These are some very powerful and moving posts. It illustrates for me how real and hard this struggle is for each of us. We are most definitely not alone! We are in this thing together and I'm happy to lend what little support that I can. I am reading your thoughts and pain and I'm there with you. I feel what you feel…
  • @becwana I will see your few beers and raise you eight shots of vodka washed down with six or seven chicken wings and more nuts than I care to think about. I feel terrible. The last two weeks have been pretty heavy in booze for me. It is a professional hazard for me. Tomorrow is a new day and I'm looking forward to a good…
  • @canadjineh you have a lot on your emotional plate. Many would crumble under this level of pressure. At least cheese isn't full of carbs. Stay the course and keep strong for yourself and your family. You will be better able to meet all of these challenges if you are physically strong.
  • That has to be hard. I've always lived in the same place and cannot imagine moving to a new city. Do you have family with you for support? Take care and stay strong. There may be many things you can't control right now but at least you can control what you eat.
  • @Sandee_Bee I think I have to stop buying them too. I find myself justifying it because I need more sodium in my diet and I try to buy the salties nuts I can find. LOL! I'm actually pretty sure that I am some sort of addict who can't control what he eats. It's the only logical explanation for a lifetime bad eating…
  • @kathrout1973 I know exactly what you mean. I too have been overweight (I remember vividly the day my Dr. casually referred to me being "morbidly obese" ) my whole adult life. I've gained and lost 100s of pounds and have also wondered if I am unconsciously sabotaging myself. @Panda_Poptarts I can relate as well to…
  • You can do this. You've done it before so you know it's true. Good luck!
  • In the beginning I mainly just focused on keeping my carbs below 20g net. Over time I started to learn more about how to increase fat in my diet. I pretty much never worry about protein macros. I echo what others have said, eat chicken dark meet with skin. Make scrambled eggs with HWC mixed in. Cook the eggs in bacon…
