17 miles this week.... For a total of 33 miles so far this month!

If you haven't looked into yet, I'd suggest checking out the "Couch to 5K" program (or C25K). I used it on the treadmill and outside. It's a 9 week program, 3x a week that starts you out with a run/walk program.... and ends with you being able to run for 30 minutes straight. I was NEVER a runner.... I think I always went…

16 miles for 2/1 thru 2/5

I only went back a week, but I agree with the previous poster.... Cut out the candy and cookies. I'd also track your sodium and sugar... processed food contain a lot of both. Also...drink more water!

1/30=5 miles; Total for January = 61

My stomach grumbles and makes weird noises all the time... and VERY loudly!!! My husband thinks it has it's own language! I think it's all because of the diet changes, and eating so many more veggies!!!

13 miles this week... 56 so far for January!!!

Without seeing your diary, it's hard to tell..... - Drink at least 8 glasses of water - Track your SODIUM and SUGAR (maybe you're eating too many foods with a lot of salt?) - if you don't already have one, buy a Heart Rate Monitor to accurately track your calories burned - Measure and weigh your food to ensure you're…

I have a few..... 1. Get down to a Size 8 2. Run a 10K 3. Wear a 2 piece bathing suit that doesn't require the bottoms to have a "skirt" to cover my fat. I don't need a bikini, but... at least a fun tankini would be nice!!!

Bump... Read for later

I'm sure you'll hear a lot of opinions on this one!!! For me.... typically I'm over sugar most days also. If I'm over because I've eaten "healthy" (i.e. sugar from fruits and veggies, primarily), then I don't worry about it. Heck... one (1) JAZZ apple has a bunch of sugar!!! Unless you're eating a lot of junk or processed…

Thanks everyone... I appreciate all the feedback!!! I may have to try and run very early and out of the sun. And... like y'all said.... make sure I'm well hydrated!

What are arm coolers?

I'm afraid I'll have too much loose skin. I have some now, but I am not doing a lot of strength training yet. I'm hoping that once I do, I'll tone up more and not be so saggy. I also think my face is starting to look older...

Count me in again... 50 miles!

C25K is great for beginning runners!!! I did it twice... once on the treadmill and once outside (but I started outside in week 5). I ran my first 5K the week after I completed the program outside... and I ran it in under 35 minutes! I was NEVER a runner before... Probably because I just used to go out there and give it my…

I'm curious as well. I'm down 70lbs, and I have jiggly thighs, squishy stomach and bat wings!!!!! I run every other day, and I've just started to do some weight training. Didn't know if my problem areas are excess/loose skin, or still more fat. Sigh!

Check out ACTIVE.COM and RUNNERSWORLD.COM.... they always have great articles, tips, etc. for running and training... no matter what distance.

There are a ton of different apps out there.... too many to choose from, but... I have a few loaded: Runkeeper: I use this when I run outside. It has a GPS and tracks my mileage, speed, pace, etc. when I run. Plus it can be used for other activities like walking, cycling, etc. And... it has a companion web site as well…

Thanks for the feedback everyone. As I do have a relationship with a cardiologist already and trust her very much, I was really looking for feedback from others with a low heart rate to see if anyone has had any problems due to it being so low. It's good to know others out there who are exercising a lot, running and have…

First... Great job losing 52lbs... That is awesome!!!! I can relate to your experience. I only lost 1 pant size after losing 35lbs. It was discouraging. And it was very slow for me to drop sizes. I started at 232, and have lost 70lbs. I started as a tight size 18 (a few size 20 things), and I am now comfortably wearing a…

I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday! A year from now... you will wish you had started today!

Couch-to-5K. (C25K)! You can read about it here on some of the forums, or google it for more info. I believe coolrunning.com has the program plan. Basically it's a 9 week program, running/walking 3 times per week. It starts you out slowly and builds you up to 30 minutes of running! Check it out!

I was definitely a non-runner, but I knew I needed to step up my cardio to lose weight . From the boards here is where I heard about C25K. I successfully completed the program, and ran my first 5K a week after finishing (Dec 3rd). I finished in less than 35 minutes. I also ran my 2nd 5K last Saturday and did even better.…

I have a Polar FT4. Love it... it does what I need it to do, and... I've had no problems with it at all.
