I started a medically supervised low carb program in May and its the easiest way to lose weight I've ever done. I enjoy my meals, have tons more energy and am losing every week. My plan has me doing 1000 calories, less than 50 net carbs a day, and at least 100 grams of protein. That leaves about 400 calories for fat. I'm…

Absolutely not. If you don't give the body the nutrition it needs - and you won't eating fast food and junk - you won't lose as much. You also need to exercise. If it was just calories in, calories out, 3500 calories equals a pound we'd all be skinny.

Since it says 1 cup of dry rice = 3 cups of cooked rice, If you cooked 1/4 cup of dry rice it would equal 3/4 cup of cooked. The dry rice absorbs water so you get more after it is cooked.

If you want to lose lean body mass, just do cardio. If you want to lose fat and keep you lean body mass, you have to do weights. I've gone from 170.8 on May 7th to 142 today and my lean body mass has increased 3+ pounds and I lift heavy. It would be helpful if you opened your food diary so we might help you with your…

If you don't do resistance training and eat plenty of protein, you will lose muscle (lean body mass) along with the fat.. I realize you have an injury so don't worry about it now. And those body fat scales are a waste of money. Water weight is included in the weight of lean body mass and so are bones.

You certainly don't have the worst body. It can be hard to deal with but more people than you think have stretch marks under their clothes. I weighed even more than you and my upper arms and thighs have plenty of stretch marks. I wouldn't dream of going out of the house without elbow length sleeves, but then one day I had…

It is not a good routine. First of all, you are eating way too few calories. Second, you are doing the same exercise every day and could end up hurting yourself because you aren't allowing at least one day for muscle repair. You can workout every day, just alternate exercises and parts of your body. I do cardio 4 days a…

If there were foods we could eat to raise metabolism, hypothyroidism would be on my medical record. Exercise can help some, but there is no magic pill or food. Green tea does not make an appreciable difference in metabolism.

Those who are successful the longest, plan their meals. When the day is planned you don't have to spend the day thinking about what you'll eat next. Stick to the plan and don't go off. When I don't have the day planned is when the foods that don't support my weight loss creep in. I plan my meals for the upcoming week on…

We all find the time to do the things we want to.. Schedule exercise just like any other appointment. Thinkgs that you do like walk to and from work aren't really exercise anymore because your body is used to it and becomes very efficient at doing it and using the fewest calories for that.

The #1 determining factor for whether or not you will have saggy skin is genetics. I'd rather have sagging skin than rolls of fat, though.

I'm also doing a higher protein, lower carb, 1000 calorie diet under the supervision of Dr. Thomas Clark at the Center for Weight Loss Success in Newport News. They do both medically supervised weight loss and bariatric surgery. It's the best investment I have ever made in myself. I'd love to be your friend. You can leave…

If you done weight watchers 3 times and have gained the weight back it hasn't worked for you or you would have learned the lifestyle that you have to live to maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle. Also weight watchers has never said you can have 5 servings of fruit a day so you must not know the program. What it really…

You should never even think about going on a diet for that is just a set up for failure. You should be asking if MFP will help you make the necessary lifestyle changes in food and exercise to achieve a realistic weight and establish a lifelong exercise program. Diets have a beginning, then you deny your self, then it ends…

Of course you can report a problem. Click on Help then click on Email Us. That's how I reported the problem just now.

You are not the fat police. Your sister knows she has a problem and you don't need to make her feel bad bringing it up. In fact, you may make her gain even more weight because she'll show you she'll eat what she wants and you can't control it. Leave her alone unless she asks for your help.

I didn't see anything that I haven't seen here and your info is not the best. Meat has far more protein than black beans which have a lot of carbs. Organic is preferable to Kroger frozen vegetables. Low fat chocolate milk is a laugh for muscle repair. You only recommend weight loss dvds. There is much better exercise that…

And what are your qualifications to advise me about weight loss?
-
They certainly aren't wasted if you don't eat them - you lose more.
-
You definitely are obsessed with the scale and a cheap one at that. Weigh once a week, that's what counts, not minute by minute fluctuations.
-
Gosh, I buy organic chicken from a local chicken farmer. Do you think those chickens are from China? Do you cook your chicken? Unless you eat it raw, you have little to worry about.

The order of satiety for food is first protein, second fats, and at the bottom is carbs. I'm a low carber and never hungry.

My last vacation was 3 weeks and I lost 4 pounds. I don't eat any differently on vacation than home.

Every one gets a different serving size on soup recipes even using the same recipe depending on how much they cooked it at what temperature. You have to measure it and then divide by the number of servings.

Where did you get the idea you could only have 30 grams of sugar a day? That's ridiculous. If you are going by MFP, they don't do it correctly. And a real whole apple is better for you than applesauce because the applesauce has part of the digestive process already done when you eat it and you don't burn as many calories…

Whenever I see these posts by people who can't eat their allotted calories, I wonder how they every got to be overweight. Obviously, they aren't counting their calories correctly or weighing and measuring every bite or they are pulling our leg.

The RDA for sodium was lowered to 1500 mcg a year or two ago. You are eating more than you need!
-
Don't feed your sweet tooth - it leads to carb cravings. You don't need a treat more than once a week. Atkins bars stall many people.
-
You can but its not a very good protein source.

Atkins recommends 1500-1800 calories for women so your calories and protein are both high. Remember, Atkins is moderate protein, low carb and high fat. Try having more protein at lunch and less for a night time snack.
