  • I've slowed down the cooking b/c I am in the middle of huge home improvement projects! Same type of problem you have, I'm sure! :-) I also plan salad-based dinners a few times a week. That way I can make a big, basic green salad on Sunday or Monday, use it as a side dish or lunch a few times a week and add to it to make a…
  • Some days, I just don't want to cook but I agree that it is much healthier to make your own meals at home. So, I make extra portions of some things and pop them in the freezer for the "Let's eat out" days. It is much more economical and healthier.
  • Good luck! If you just make yourself log your info everyday, it is sure to help. The site is fairly easy to use and will help you see your weak areas. You WILL be successful!
  • Good luck, Laura! I started 2 days ago. I am doing indoor walking & videos, mostly. I live in Alaska and it will snow anytime (yuck) so I figured I might as well start an indoor routine now. I am so envious of you going to Ireland!!! Wow. What a fun trip! Let me know if I can be of any help.
  • Good luck to you! Let me know what I can do to help! I just started on Tuesday. My goal is 135, too, but I have a lot further to go than you! :-) I haven't been that low in 11 years. My husband used to be in the military and was naturally thin and lanky anyway, so I was always envious of how easy it was for him. The years…
  • Hi, Jennifer! I started 2 days ago and I am feeling really motivated as well. Good luck to you!
  • I have a little more to lose but hoping to do it at the same pace as you. I have given myself 9 months from yesterday, which happens to be my husband's birthday. :-) I am 37 and really wanting to get the extra weight off before I turn 40. It just keeps getting harder every year. Let me know any way I can help you…
  • Portland is my favorite (larger) city. If we didn't have kids I would love to live there. But I like a slower pace of life while raising our children. My husband and I think about moving into the city one day. We both like the energy of a city. We love music and cafes and concerts and bookstores and trying new things. It…
  • It is Haystack Rock. My family goes there every chance we get. Well, we tend to go to Seaside more often than we used to, but Cannon Beach is still my favorite. When I was a kid, we went there every other weekend. I am not too fond of the Medford area. Too brown. I like the green a little further north. Have to say that…
  • Congrats!!! I hope I am as successful. How long did it take?
  • I love Turbo Jam and I totally agree with you about the music. I love dance and techno music. Anything from the 80's to current. The strong beats really help me keep moving and keep my mind on the music. Plus, I can sing along... as long as no one is around. :-)
  • Good luck to you! I have a lot to lose as well.
  • Yup. Where are you?

  • It is very handy! But some things are a little tricky. I did a "bootcamp" workout today but had to guesstimate how much time I spent on calisthenics, weights and aerobics in order to add it to my exercise. (or maybe I just missed a much easier way!!!) :-) Yesterday I had to take the dog for an extra 30 minute walk to get…

  • Good luck to you! I just started yesterday. The fire department... that is really cool. I hope you succeed at that.

  • I love Oregon! That is where I would most like to live now, having lived there when I was a kid. (Salem, Goshen, Eugene/Springfield) I have family in Albany, Rogue River and Wilsonville. And, my absolute favorite place in the world is Cannon Beach! So, the envy goes both ways. :-)
  • Hi, Jim. Good luck to you! I am new today as well. The site does seem very user friendly.
  • You are so nice to welcome everyone new! I see your name all over. I just thought I would say how impressed I am by your friendliness. :-)
  • How about a wine spritzer? It would cut the calories.
  • I live in interior Alaska. Brrr. It will snow anytime now.
  • This is my first day at this site. I am hoping to lose 70 lbs this winter. I live in a very cold climate, so I will be depending on videos, an elliptical trainer and Total Gym for exercise. I do go sledding with the kids when it is warm enough. I have a tendency to work out too enthusiastically too soon, so I end up ill or…
