GMG: Our online meeting at work didn't go off because there were problems with the software/connection...again!! This always seems to happen. Seems the thing is not well-planned and there are always technical problems, so we have to reschedule. It's a waste of everyone's time. But I don't even care, because my son…

Crick in the neck definitely would not put a damper on my workout. Getting those muscles warmed up might help! :)

I was diagnosed with a thyroid condition, Graves' Disease. When I went in to see the specialist for the first time, I told him I realized something was wrong when I lost 25 pounds without changing a thing. His response - "That was probably a good thing for you." I was livid!! :explode: Then I went home and thought about it…

I don't think this is a service that the FDA performs. They determine when labeling is required and the labeling format, but as a manufacturer or food service company you have to send your product to an independent lab that is certified to provide FDA nutritional information. It is very expensive. The company I work for is…

Cheer up! Not everything will be less by weight. I've found that some cereals and chips you actually get more product by weight. And it's especially true with things like cream cheese and hummus. :)

What...we're living in the 1800s? Men can't control themselves because a woman is showing her legs from the knee down?! Gimme a break! I worked in car dealerships for 8+ years and never had a man make an inappropriate comment to me.

I probably would have said something along the lines "I had no idea you were a cross-dresser! Geez, you work with someone all this time..."

How do you strain the yogurt?

Don't lift and have no interest in crossfit, but I had to watch to see the 3-legged dog! :)

The exercise you plan on doing is NOT factored into your calorie allowance by MFP. They only factor in your stats and the activity level you choose. That's why when you enter cardio exercise MFP adds those cals back to your total. The system was designed that you should eat those cals in addition to your regular allowance.…

I would live in S Utah - close to Zion, Bryce, and Grand Canyon. I don't think I would ever get tired of those views! Also close enough to Vegas for a weekend. :D

Jumping jacks make me feel like my uterus is going to fall out! They have to be the most uncomfortable exercise ever. :noway:

The most important part of that article... #1 1: Calories Trump Metabolism for Weight Loss Most dieters are used to keeping track of what and how much they're eating -- this is good, but with a few tweaks it could be better. What you eat won't likely directly impact the speed of your metabolism -- it's the total number of…

Drinking ice water will NOT boost your metabolism. Green tea also will not work.

That's awesome! :)

Wines that are more dry will have lower calorie counts. Sweeter wines are higher. I like sweet white wines, but I have found that Fetzer Gewurztraminer has a nice sweetness for only 100 cals per 5oz. That's less than the Moscatos.

I usually try to be hitting the sidewalk at 4:30 when I run in the AM. I have to be at work at 7:30. One day a week, I leave early to take a yoga class before I head home, and on those days I am on the elliptical at 4AM. If my hubby and I hike during the summer, we are usually up by 5AM latest. It's just too hot after that!

It's hard to find in the grocery store, but if you can get the Smucker's brand. I think it's the best, and closest consistency to regular pancake syrup.

I'm right here with Joolie. I usually burn 400-500 cals a day, which puts me around 2100-2200. I have reached my goal of 150 pounds. I'm 5'5" and currently size 6. So I am playing around with the numbers to see where I need to be to maintain. I wouldn't mind getting into the 140s, but not too far. My exercise physiologist…

^^Yeah, this! I have a bad habit of just saying the first thing that pops into my head when someone is insensitive. I would probably say "fine...I'm out!" And I might regret it later, but I would stick to it for the principle of the thing. What is wrong with your sister?!? I had a cousin I was very close to growing up.…

^^ This...and I'll add most early-American literature. I took an American Lit class freshman year of college and pretty much hated every second.

Some ppl are just looking for an excuse to sue somebody! I used to work with a woman who told me that ANY time she had EVER been in a car accident she hired an attorney and sued the other driver. I asked if she did that when the accident was her fault...yep!! :noway: That being said, we use the spray butter stuff at our…

I'm not entirely sure what my resting HR is...probably somewhere in the 80s. My average doing cardio workouts is usually 150-170. My max is about 180 on my runs and close to 190 doing intervals on the elliptical.

I'm not really sure where the problem is. I'm reading that you ate breakfast, then burned off all those calories but still have 1500 you need to eat today. You still have lunch, dinner and snacks to comsume those 1500 calories, right? So 500 calorie lunch, 500 calorie dinner and a couple 200 calorie snacks makes up your…

Mine too! Vanilla Chai is the bomb!! I also hate greek yogurt...not the taste but the texture. Bought some Yaso frozen greek yogurt bars (thinking frozen wouldn't be so bad), and they are like eating chalk. We ended up feeding them to the dogs.

We had to replace our washer and dryer over the summer, and we went with the really nice Electrolux front-load. It's the one with the steam that Kelly Rippa advertises. Now EVERYthing comes out smelling amazing! We use the cheapest Sun liquid detergent, and it only takes about a quarter cup. It's remarkable how much…

I weigh everything I possibly can (even dressings/condiments and cookies) to keep my portion sizes in check. Except for coffee and wine, I try not to drink my calories. It's water during the day and maybe some crystal light or iced tea with dinner. To cut down on calories, I use unsweeneted almond milk instead of skim milk…

I can't really see any details, so I'm not sure how much you weigh now or how long ago you started. Depending on what you were eating before and how long you've been doing this, it could be that your body just hasn't adjusted yet. It takes a few weeks for the appetite to get under control if you drastically changed the…

I'm 44 years old, 5'5" and have lost a total of right around 50 pounds. I eat less and move more, trying to make better choices and incorporate lots of fruits and veggies into my diet. But I don't eat clean, and I still enjoy most of the same foods I have always eaten, including alcohol and dessert. I have never eaten less…

We have a chihuahua who loves to jump on your chest and lick you in the face as soon as you start doing crunches. It's not a little distracting! LOL
