Hi dalys - personally I got really fed up of eggs and bacon very quickly (and normally I LOVE eggs and bacon). There are loads of blogs on the net with recipes on them that are worth a try. A lot depends on how many carbs you want to take in. I'm shooting for between 30-50 carbs a day and trying to get most of them from…

Thanks Minties82 for pointing that out - I didn't realise it was under nutrition! I'm at roughly 15% carbs, 25 % protein and 60% fat. The carb % is quite high but my calorie allowance is quite small so it comes in at about 30-40 grams.

Great first post and fantastic that you are ready to do this. I'd agree with others who say break your goal down into small chunks - I use every 7 lbs as a goal but you'll find something that works for you. The other thing I always have to remind myself of when faced with a big weight loss is that although you've got 150…

First off - I am IN AWE of you signing up to a half, and of your training distances. I'm currently obese (female, 180 lbs, 5'3) and a super slow runner but I've just signed up to my first half because I need some kind of goal. I've been reading the Penguin Diaries by John Bingham who writes so brilliantly about running…

I'm trying to keep things simple cos I have a habit of over-complicating things then giving up and doing nothing! So... I'm walking 10,000 steps a day (using fitbit to count which is why my calorie allowance in my diary sometimes looks enormous - fitbit syncs the excess 'exercise' cals to my MFP). Plus I'm swimming three…

Hi all - I'm loving reading all your stories. I live in Scotland and I'm self employed, working from home. I lost a lot of weight ten years ago but it has crept back on (plus some). Part of my problem is that I am self employed and work from home so on a bad day I might only ever move from my desk to the fridge and not a…

Could it be an allergy thing - like hayfever? I know it's January but you might be somewhere spring-like!

Hi Sandy - feel free to add me. We're the same kind of age with about the same to lose! :)

Hi all - I'm new to this and completely friendless so anyone feel free to add me. I'm in the UK too. :)

Hi - I'd love to join in. My first goal is to lose sixteen pounds by St Patrick's Day. Week 1 [1/13-1/20] 176 lbs Week 2 [1/20-1/27] Week 3 [1/27-2/3] Week 4 [2/3-2/10] Week 5 [2/10-2/17] Week 6 [2/17-2/24] Week 7 [2/24-3/3] Week 8 [3/3-3/10] Week 9 [3/10-3/17]: GOAL: 160 lbs To help me on my way I've signed up to a…
