Well, I've been in a rough patch and have been eating 2000+ calories the last couple of days, but didn't intend to eat that much. This is the part where in the past, I would have given up on my resolve to take care of myself. I just don't know why it's so easy for a person to enter a zone and the food has all the…

Over 50 years old, 1710 calories is my goal, moderately active. I exercise about 6 days a week, sometimes only a half hour. Exercise goal is 225 minutes weekly. I almost always do more than that, including two days of circuit training at my "Y". I usually don't eat up to my caloric goal. But I am trying to slowly get up to…

Maybe, in addition to the sacrificial "giving up" , we might give of ourselves more generously. Be more attentive, in the moment in our conversations, maybe be less preoccupied! I am going to try to make small steps towards less self-absorption" and more in tune with others and their needs. To really make it sacrificial,…

Joined a Y years ago..... had the exercise thing down for years, with a few lapses, here and there. But I always have appreciated the relaxation and stress reduction of working out. I enjoy outdoor walks when the weather is nice, and have a treadmill in my basement for when it is less than nice. Exercise, by itself, did…

You are with a member of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Faster than me at the keyboard! : )

You are enjoying a dunk in the pool.

When was the last time you had a blood workup? Is there a thyroid issue, possibly? And yes, are you fueling all that activity appropriately? Don't give up! You can work through this!

I still haven't taken down my tree, so enjoyed my Christmas lights very early with my morning coffee. My cat cuddled on my chest and almost smiled with a deep purr, tonight. I felt that my students actually had some fun with a lab activity in class this a.m.

When and if you can live with smaller portions, maybe have the Dove dark or fun size three musketeers bars in your home. Tell yourself that 1-2 is all you will allow yourself on any given day. Then take a long time to enjoy it. I also enjoy the chocolate drizzled fiber bars. Best of luck!

If you want, add me. I joined MFP last June, and am now in maintenance. In the past, I found maintaining a loss quite the challenge! Hoping that a community like this will keep my head in the right place. All the best to you in your efforts!

The accountability in my food diary and having my "friends" look at it is a fundamental reason for my success so far. Sometimes the foods aren't placed in the right categories, but I try to include everything. (okay, don't always remember to add that mustard, etc.) I just don't know why you would waste your time here, if…

I think it should be okay, unless your body is sensitive to carbohydrates. True, my diabetic sister says eating a bit of protein with her carb intensive foods helps stabilize her blood sugar. The milk should help with that, I would guess.

Looks very ambitious, but you should have a good outcome. Might not want to avoid treats, altogether. In my experience, depriving myself of chocolate leads to a binge. Not everyone is like that, I know. Are you includIng a small amount of healthy oil, from olive, canola or nuts? the best of luck to you in your efforts.

Didn't upload before pictures, at least not my heaviest, but yes!!!! We can still find success!

I usually have a smaller snack before a workout. Maybe a banana, a few almonds, or yogurt. Then I work out and have my meal afterwards. However, sometimes my at-home treadmill workouts are late in the evening, 2-3 hours after dinner. Don't know what's "healthier", but I like the results, so that's good enough.

Glad that your chosen plan is working for you. I wish you continued success. "For me"- when I deprive myself of too many carbohydrates, I get very moody and end up triggering a binge due to the deprivation. Everyone is different. :flowerforyou:

To me, carbohydrates are great fuel for keeping me feeling energetic. I just scrolled through my diet summary. Usually, I'm between 150-200 per day, I do try to make them complex, but won't say I've been so good all the time. It didn't hurt my weight loss effort. It probably depends on the person, but I don't think low…

You will be successful, as long as you keep your head in the right place. I think you have the right motivation to get this done, and the maturity to stay with it!

Full-blooded Czech. My Dad went to school and had to learn most of the English, since Grandpa and Grandma mostly spoke Czech in the home.

Watch that hand!

thanks for the reminder. I have felt less like my old "fun self" for awhile, and that doesn't do any good for anyone!!! Plus, I need to live more "in the moment"!!

I really enjoyed this.....not only have you made marvelous progress, but the FUN element of your photo shoot really comes through!!! Wonderful results!!! You just keep it going!

You go girl! Fabulous accomplishment!

String cheese, soy nuts, cereal bars, baby carrots. Would that help?

Just stay true to yourself! YOU have taken the high road......

Eat your treats mindfully, make sure you aren't depriving yourself of moderate portions of your favorite things! Take the time to really enjoy them! Drink your daily 8 glasses of water, and focus on the seasonal delights that aren't food related, as much as possible. Workouts need to continue. Remember, you can work in…

Never lose hope for your continued recovery!! You have some challenges, and you will rise above them. Peace and healing to you, dearie.

Think that some good aerobic dance might do the trick? If you don't have a DVD, just dance around continuously for a half hour!!! It will brighten your mood!
