  • Enjoy what you have and consider your weight loss as a bonus... tc :) Really like that take on the efforts!!! Feeling healthier and more energetic, improving the quality of my life.... regaining control in this area....all very worthwhile all on their own! Thanks for that perspective!!
  • Being really ready to work at it makes all the difference. We all know what to do....... but if we haven't flipped that switch in our heads, we can't get out of the gate....... You mustn't look too far ahead..... take it one meal at a time, one day at a time. And DON'T LOOK BACK!!! Have a joyful journey.
  • Maybe you are, don't know you, so don't know for sure --- But as a woman in my 50's, I can guarantee that when you're my age, you will look back at the beauty you had in your twenties, and wonder why you weren't happier with yourself. I wish I had made peace with my body earlier in life. Keep your sense of humor, a woman's…
  • Sorry that you're going through such a rough time. Remember, you are worth taking care of!!!....even when you feel so crappy, making yourself exercise can release those endorphins that lift your blues.
  • I can't trust myself with Nutella in the house---but that would be good with peanut butter, too! Thanks!
  • YOU are WORTH IT!!! Make a few things work with accessories, go to a consignment shop for some nice gently used clothes and get on with living your improved, energetic life. Don't look back!:flowerforyou:
  • Last time I lost 30 pounds, I followed the previous weight watchers plan, using a friend's materials. I didn't pay for them. Logged food with paper (gasp!) and kept a paper graph of my progress. (old school!) It was a healthy way to eat, and supposed to emphasize a good balance of nutrients. The process of group support…
  • I appreciate the fact that people like to trust the "tools of technology", but there's always a margin of error on any of them. Many successful people love their heart rate monitors and data pertaining to calories expended on the machines; however, if you're getting it done, feeling like you've sweated and pushed yourself,…
  • Stephen King -Under the Dome--- very interesting on many levels.
  • Congratulations on looking forward and taking steps to make yourself healthier. I have only been doing this a week, but my body is responding with new energy! Much success to you, one day at a time.

  • We sometimes "overthink" things, or get in our own way, because of the "what-ifs" in the future. Then it is somewhat overwhelming, and can lead to self-sabotage. Try not to obsess about the future, take one day, sometimes one hour, at a time. That's the most we can reasonably manage. And I'm trying to "enjoy the…
  • It can be tough. The husband mixed up our homemade pancake batter this a.m. Should I eat something else altogether, or go with it? After I ran it through the recipe calculator, found that 1 pancake was app. 103 calories. Topped it with a fried egg, lite syrup, had my wonderful coffee and I'm good to go. Actually, I've…
  • yes, except I need not be sitting at the computer so much!!!:embarassed:

  • Okay, a 2 year old is not a new baby, but still............ they are quite demanding of one's time and energy!
  • You go, girl! Admire your determination to focus on this with a new baby. I struggled with the sleep deprivation and tried to keep myself going with too many carbs( but that was a long time ago) and the kids are worth it!
  • Something with fiber (fruit) and a little protein (1/2 Tblsp peanut butter) or a lowfat cheese stick will tide you over until your next meal.
  • You have carbohydrate stored in the muscles and liver (glycogen) that is broken into sugar to fuel your a.m. workout, if you haven't eaten anything that can raise your blood sugar.
  • This might give you something to check out. http://health.discovery.com/centers/cholesterol/activity/activity.html
  • It was painful to read the comment. (from your husband?) Think how much better your body functions without the extra weight. Because, really, vanity may be what drives us to begin the weight loss, but this lifestyle will bring us into optimum body function for the long term. The people that see us every day get used to our…
  • It is so easy to feel discouragement. We are so "results" oriented. Your health is improving. Stay the course. Sometimes that weight seems to want to hang on a bit longer, and our efforts don't seem to be making a change. Then a weight loss will show up, if we are consistent. If you talk to anyone in the medical field,…
  • Can you enjoy a planned healthy snack (with protein and fiber?) and then get your hands busy with something? Hang on !!!
