generally I've found with bread, the lower the calories the lower the nutritional value. I would much rather have a good multigrain bread at 120 calories a slice than white bread at 60 calories a slice. The white bread offers nothing nutritionally other than fast carbs

Hi I'm Welsh but live in S London / Surrey Border too I used to use a different site but this is a million times better. Good Luck with your goals

When I was losing weight it was every Monday morning at the gym Now that I only maintain I weigh myself once a month (ish). The only exception is if I know I have had a bad week (as opposed to a bad day)

Like all things there should be balance but I am one for Team More, to me it's not just about weight it's about HEALTH.

It sounds like DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) if so you should be ok to train. Stretching and making sure you eat enough post exercise is a good way to avoid suffering. If however it's mor od a "pull" then as Olag states make sure you rest

I would speak to one of the instructors at the gym and ask them to put together a routine and show you how to perform each exercise. I would also keep it fairly simple and use compound moves (use lots of muscles at once) like Dead Lift , Squats, Military Press & Bench Press. You can then add some isolations (single muscle…

I find it interesting that on the whole it seems to be women who have responded rather than men. Use the celebreties as inspiration but remember they all have PTs and dietician's etc. Be happy with who YOU are, tall, short, curly hair, straight hair, big boobs, small boobs. The sexiest thing about a woman is confidence. BE…

As you appear to be fairly experienced and fit, I would say you are fine as long as A) You train with different intensity and use some of your workouts as "Recovery" B) You ensure that you have at least one rest day C) You use this to kickstart your weight loss and don't plan to keep at it for longer than say a month. You…

I take Glucosamine & Chondroitin. I have arthritis in my right ankle ankle and I take this to help. There is a lot of debate as to how effective it is but I take it anyway and it seems to work.

You can do Bodyweight exercises. Pistols, Press Ups (narro & Wide), Squats, Lunges, Step Up, Wall Squats, Pull Ups (mixed Grip) etc.
-
Deadlifts, Squats and Lunges all work the lower body and core . Obviously if you are experiencing pain you need to be careful and maybe get them checked out. Kettlebells are my favourite, you tend to do lots of swings which work legs, hips and core and hopefully be easier on your knees Good Luck

A lot of people claiming to be vegetarians but eat fish? Is that not a contradiction in terms? I don't care what people dop or don't eat it is an individuals choice. Unfortunatrly there are way too many preachy people on both sides of the argument. I like animals, I find the idea of animal cruelty abhorrent, but that…

Is there a Sweatshop or specialist running shop near you? If so get your gait checked out, a good running shop will video your stride and suggest the right type of shoe. Also vary your routes, ruin off road if you can, trail running has less impact on your body and the varied terrain makes you work harder. Good luck

As you've bought yourself a smoothie machine I'd go with natural unflavoured protein, this will be cheaper and lower in calories. Whey for pre/post exercise, Casein for evening drinks or when slow release is required. In the UK we have MyProtein which is cheap and can be bought by the sack. I'd look for something similar

Naan's are the devil's work, soooo nice but sooooo unhelathy. You'll average about 900 calories in one plain naan. A lot of dishes have Ghee (butter) in them, as someone else suggest go for tandoori type dishes and if you do have a dish with a sauce don't just pour it onto your plate but eat it sparingly

I've never done it but I have an issue with the way it works (or how I understand it works). It's about points and doesn't appear to address the issue of peoples relationship with food. Everyone I know who has been seems to balloon as soon as they stop, in other words yo-yo diet. That also looks to be the case with some of…

If you want an honest opinion - get the hell out of there. The guy sounds like a grade a pillock! He is probably having more influence on your emotions and even your weight than you realise. Leave him to drown in his own lake of despair

Hi, For any Personal Training Program worth its salt you are going to need to go on one that is recocgnised by REPS (Register of Exercise professionals. YMCA is probably the best know but also probably one of the most expensive. The best one for someone who works is probably "blended" a combination of home study and…

Good luck, I joined this week after using a different, inferior site, kids are very motivational and every time it gets hard remember you want to around to see them grow up. It worked for me.

Try this www.runnersworld.co.uk/beginners/your-first-10k-five-easy-steps/6843-3.html#historysub I would also recommend getting a HRM with GPS if you can and maybe subscribe to Runkeeper /Map my Run. Just like MFP it's very motivtional to see your runs with both distance and speed increase. Personally I prefer running off…

Diet Pills won't help you and your relationship with food. Bad habits make you put on weight, good habits do not! The changes you plan to make need to become habits, pills are not the answer.
