You need to clarify with him exactly what he means by you have to pay him to live with him. Maybe he isn't wording it properly or isn't being very clear.

If you are living together, it would make sense for both of you to share the expenses such as rent, utilities, etc...

Oh my goodness...I am the exact same way. I feel like I am always starting over....again. And i know and have all the tools but it is so easy to convince yourself to start tomorrow and then it is well I will just start Monday. Its a vicious cycle.

Don't hesitate to add me...It would be nice to have more friends to the list to help motivate. I just started back on about a week ago.

For me it's gym, I head straight there after work. I've tried working out at home but found myself finding an excuse not to by doing other things around the house. Plus the gym offers more variety.
