If you like the occasional cookie, find some tasty low-cal versions of the cookie (tasty and low-cal do sometimes go together) and have one every few days. Keeps your taste buds happy and helps to curb the cravings. I have a special k pastry crisps for my sugary tasting snack. 2 crisps for 100 cals.

I picked a weight that I felt good and didn't look annorexic. I'm 5'7" and I look amazing at 180lbs. I once dropped down to 159lbs during a messy divorce and I looked so sickly people kept asking if I was okay. 180lb gives me a 39in hip, 29in waist, and 36in bust. Even though it's not a 'healthy' weight for my height, I…

Healthy Choice Chicken and Rice Microwaveable soup bowls. 190 Calories and an ample amount of protien and sodium for my fitness level. Sodium is something that I do not worry about because of (disgusting) the amount I sweat when I exercise.

I'm in a Military, so I guess it's a little different. When I wake up in the morning food is pretty far from my mind. After PT and before work I grab some fruit or protien shake (Special K or SlimFast) and drink/eat in the car on the way to the office.

People who do not think before they ask you a question OR people that think they know something even though they do not and they know that they do not.

I've found that this is very true, not only for helping me stay the course, but I found that if I have plateaued, the not-so-good meal actually helps kick start me. Do not weight yourself directly after the 'bad' meal, but wait two - three days of regular diet and excerise and I find that I broke the plateau and started…

I run a 10k about once a weekend (or ever other) and it takes me about 1 hour and 10 -/+ minutes. On average though I run daily from 30 - 50 minutes depending on the route. Sunday I did a 10k, Monday I went on a 10 mile bike ride, Tuseday I ran a 10k and today I ran only 2.5 miles - So it varies :/

I'm Active Army. Joined MFP when my knee was injured and I had gained alot of weight due to little-no excerise, eating poorly, and medication.

I tell them that I and everybody else is always on a diet, I just added healthier food into my diet. It always irritates me when someone asks if I'm on a diet only because what the word 'diet' means.

I was 16, four years prior to joining the military, and working as a donation attendant at a local Goodwill. One of the children in the backseat looks at me, then looks at their mother and said - "Mommy, she's pregant, just like you!" The lady looks at me and goes, "Yes she is honey. When are you due?" ... Turns out I…

I have never heard that before, but I'm not disputing that, god only knows I'm not a nutritionist of health expert. I'll have to look into that :D As a side note, I don't eat anything before a run because, being in the military, there is not alot of time to really wait before a run. Also, I am not a fan of seeing what I…

While this really is an awesome NSV, you make me jealous because - due to LASIK - I cannot run for another 3 weeks :/ Jealous, but keep up the awesome work !!

Definatly going to do this! I'll calculate in the miles I've run on races this month and the elliptical miles I keep track of. 31 Miles

Intervals are an AMAZING way to reduce run time, simply because you can experiment with your stride. I would recommend starting with a 30/60 - 30 seconds running and 60 seconds speed walking to keep up the cardio but allows you to catch your breath. Then after a few weeks of doing this or if you feel comfortable sooner,…

amccrazgrl Is this for beginners or no? I'm curious because when I saw the weight I was a little shocked. I use the sled led press about twice a week and warm up with 250, and finish with 420lbs. Anything below 250 and I feel like I'm pushing air or just stretching :/

I only have one pair of Reebok ZigTech's that I purchased for running, but they are so heavy I switch to wearing them when I only want to work on strength training or muscle failure. I prefer the Nike Free's for running as they are extremely flexible and very light weight. For the type you are referring to; ReebokFlex…

I completely agree with Brian on this. Veggies are notoriously high in fiber (broccoli or cauliflower, both high in fiber), so I think this would be much cheap and healthier then detox.

I like listening to the following songs when I do a stationary Cardio Workout; Dark Horses - Switchfoot Zydrate Anatomy - Repo! The Genetic Opera Soundtrack Disturbia - Rihanna Numb - Linkin Park

My secret to saying no to my favorite foods is; If I eat this slice of cheesecake, how many Skinny Cow Carmel Truffles could I have had. 3? Well, I'll have one bar and if I'm still hungrey, I'll have another and still save 100 - 150 calories. I look at something I want that's high in calories and unhealthy, and then look…

I agree with the other posters that, no I would not have a surgery to lose wieght, but I would to remove excess skin :)

Taco Bell :embarassed: I know fast food in general is not good, but their Cheese, Bean and Rice Burrittos are sooo good in my opinion. It's been two whole weeks since I've had ANY fast food, and for being in the Army, thats amazing!:noway:
