I don't know the correlation between sugar denial and red meat cravings, but my diabetic father-in-law has trouble denying his sweet tooth so he eats something high in protein after indulging said sweet tooth. Apparently it helps keep his blood sugar from going crazy. Maybe dessert should be eaten first. lol

Oh and for a less processed option: frozen grapes are a nice sweet too.

Does she like chocolate or more straight up sugary treats? I find that just two rectangles of Hershey's Special Dark after dinner can really help. Other times, when chocolate isn't what I seem to want, I like Twizzler's.

One of the dangers of a cheat day or meal is if you do it as a "reward."

I disagree. Changing the amount you eat is a huge lifestyle change. Perhaps not as significant or important as changing what you eat, but still valid. If you teach yourself to eat a smaller portion of what you normally ate that is a change and a start toward self discipline.

I've been on thyroid medication for over 10 years but I never put forth the effort to lose weight until last year. I was going to the gym 5 days a week and working with a trainer 3x a month and still not losing. I had made some majors changes in the types of food I was eating but not really counting calories. In June this…

I haven't been able to find oyster sauce in my local grocery. I'm not a big fan of the 5 spice, don't care of anise flavor. Do you think they make a 4 spice? lol

Stir fry sauce has no soy in it? I made something tonight with a little beef broth, balsamic vinegar, toasted sesame oil, ginger paste, minced garlic, sambal and corn starch and it was tasty but something was missing. Probably the soy. lol It just needed an extra depth of flavor.

I go the weekly route for weigh-in. Same day, same time, unclothed etc. But I too am ocd (masochistic) about it and weigh myself daily and multiple times. Still, I only count the weekly for my weigh-in.

Correction: the Aunt Millie's white slim bun is 100 cal.
-
Aunt Millie's slim buns white is 90 cal and 160 sodium and whole wheat is 90 cal and 140 sodium, then there is the 8 grain slim bun at 90 cal and no sodium. I have tried the 8 grain this past week, it's not the tastiest bun I've ever had but what I put inside made up for that. lol We used it for chicken salad sandwiches…

Stay with it! I started my journey over a year ago and though I was working out 5 days a week I wasn't seeing any weight loss results, I wasn't gaining weight but I wasn't losing it either. I struggled through the winter to stay motivated and got back on track this spring. I had made changes in my diet, eating more veggies…

I agree with the majority. Eat the oatmeal before and banana after. Bananas are great for recovery.

Does yours ever come out too full of water? The first time I made it, based on a friend's directions, it was so wet and gloppy that the next time I made it, I squeezed the excess liquid out (as I do with thawed, frozen spinach) and it held the spaghetti sauce better. I probably should have let it cool a little more first,…

Some company's offer half loaves but I've only seen it for white bread. And as you say, not all stores carry them.

It's gotten worse for me since I quit smoking. I'm a night owl too, it's a long time between dinner at 6 or 7pm and then bed at 2 or 3am. Chewing sugarless gum helps sometimes. I should probably figure out how to better spread out my calorie intake so I can have something late at night.
-
Absolutely!! You are so on my wave link! 5'2" and fabulous!
-
Check your calorie intake. Also, are you getting enough sleep or are you under any stress?
-
But don't you see the contradiction in this? Why are you even ordering the Big Mac and fries? But hey, who am I to talk, I weigh 300 lbs, obviously I hadn't quite worked it all out yet. lol
-
Well, you see, having the diet soda allows you to have the hot fudge sundae, because you gave up the sugar in a regular soda. lol Seriously though, I agree, if you're going to be bad, be all the way bad.

Mine too sista! I think that only A cups can get away with it attractively.

So what qualifies as NSV? Losing inches, going down in a clothing size?

There is an option to enter "strength training" under the cardio exercise. It will allow you to put in the time and give you the calories. It seems a really low number to me, meaning I think I burn more in a 30 minute routine than they do, but at least it gives something. Entering each individual exercise with weight and…
