I also think they SHOULD have the info available upon request, but I don't think a law is needed to accomplish this, that's all. A good business owner will see a need for a consumer demand, and work to fill that demand if the cost to do so is worth it. After enough restaurants do it, the others will follow suit. If your…

EXACTLY! Not every problem needs to be fixed by our gov't. If you don't want to be fat, eat at home....and if you eat a meal at a restaurant that is 1000 calories, it's not going to make you fat or kill you. It's when you do that everyday that makes you fat. People need self control and personal responsibility, not hand…

That's why you plan ahead if it's that important to you. Yes, by mandating a restaurant do something just because it makes your life more convenient, is infringing upon their rights. A business should be free to run its establishment as it sees fit. If they find their customers would like that info post it and they think…

I think it would be nice to have it available upon request, but to mandate that is ridiculous. When you go to a restaurant, you know what is healthy and what is not. I think it's perfectly reasonable to have the info online. Many people have internet on their phone. For those who do not--plan ahead or go with the salad. :)

AMEN!!! If we want to really help people, we should do what they used to do-give poor people access to agricultural surpluses. Giving people 'debit cards' so they can go buy pop, gum, and candy does more harm than good. Agricultural surpluses would give the needy nutritous food.

I don't think food companies are to blame at all. Nobody forces somebody to buy a frozen pizza rather than the makings of a healthy soup. People can afford to eat healthier, they just don't feel like cooking or would rather eat things that 'taste better.' Rolled oats are cheaper than Coco Puffs, salad is cheaper than…

No way. That is gov't overreach and ridiculous. Unless a parent is shoving Twinkies down their kid's throat, we have no say as to what a parent makes available to their kids for food. When you live in a free society, you have to recognize that unfortunate things may happen, but that is a small price to pay. Gov't needs to…

I don't think fat people are fat because they are strictly adhering to FDA food pyramid guidelines...just sayin'. LOL

Extreme coupon, like me! Contrary to popular belief, you can find coupons and sales for healthy items! Also, take advantage of coupon overages to help with meat/veggie/fruit costs. It takes work and organization, but it is doable.

From what I've read, the jury is still out. I LOVE my diet pop, and don't plan on giving it up any time soon. Anybody can find studies that anything can cause diseases. I think the key is to not overdo anything.

It's perfectly fine. I told myself this time I lose weight, I am not depriving myself. The key is to make better choices overall, which you did. Good for you! Going to McDonald's and having a sandwhich is not going to make or keep you fat...it's when you go there every single day and eat 2 or 3 that makes you fat.…

Sounds good! I think I'll try it!!!

The last time I lost a lot of weight, I followed Dr. Perricone's book. He recommended using Splenda because it has been found to be the safest artificial sweetener on the market. Unless you're eating 100 packets a day, does anybody actually think it's going to harm you in a significant way? If you put a couple packets a…

Fat helps you absorb the vitamins in some food, too. The key is portion control. I'm currently addicted to Green Godess, so what I do is put my salad in a bowl, measure out one T. of dressing, pour it on top, and then I put a lid on the bowl and shake it up. The dressing coats everything nicely. I'd rather eat a half of a…

I had a very heavy family member once tell me, "Over the years, I've always told myself I'll start tomorrow." That is the motivation I need. I see myself falling into those same bad habits. TODAY is the day because there will always be a tomorrow. It's hard, but you gotta do it. Good luck :)

Also...if you wrap a sandwhich in foil, the bread won't get soggy. That's how I pack my hubby's lunch every night. He says that trick work fabulously! :)

Get a thermos and pack minestrone soup. A can of Progresso's is only 200 cals and is really good! It would stay warm enough in a thermos. Or bring a container of salad.

I LOVE Just Dance 2 for the Wii...it's a workout I can do with my kids and I sweat like crazy doing it! I know it must burn a whole lot of calories!
-
I've done workouts from TurboFire and P90x. TurboFire is better cardio and P90 is better for gaining muscle. I don't particularly care for the TF ab workout, but LOVE the AbRipper x. I think I'm going to mix up the 2.

Sometimes it takes that long for a body to start shedding. Don't quit now! Even if you aren't seeing results yet, know that you're making your body healthy which is really the most important thing after all. Good luck and don't quit!
-
ABSOLUTELY! I do Turbo Fire and I only do it when my hubby is at work or if he's outside in the garage doing his P90X. lol I am uncoordinated and I surely don't need him seeing me tripping all over myself and taking too many breaks! Turbo Fire is SO hard and I have to rest a little more than I'd like to. Hopefully, once I…

I think that's excellent! Any kind of activity is good, as long as you do it consistently. Good luck!

Good job! That's the place I hope to lose my weight first! I hate how chubby my face is....it's the first place I gain weight.
-
When I do it, I'm going to put it under cardio, high intensity aeorbic workout. I know I saw Turbo Jam listed, just not TurboFire :(

Hi, I'm kinda new here. Well I got TF for my birthday in April. I did it for 3 weeks and was really seeing results. Then softball started for my daughter, and I kinda lost track and stopped doing it. I'm starting again tomorrow and I cannot wait! It's a really fun but really tough workout. I think I'm uncoordinated, but it…
