I leave mine open because I love looking at other people's diaries. There's some voyeuristic pleasure in it, but also I like getting new meal ideas!

It probably goes without saying, BUT - the above ingredients are all blended. I buzzed them with a hand blender.

I would suggest ordering a child's portion of something.

You know what? I know people say that white chocolate isn't "real" chocolate, but screw 'em! I love it!

Hey, just enjoy it! Go for a couple jogs, eat an otter pop for dessert and you'll be golden. Those calories will be a distant memory :)

1 slice of whole grain bread with a tablespoon of organic peanut butter

yes! I think a scoop of cilantro-ey, tomatoey fresh salsa would be delicious.

I don't hate any part of my body, but I find my back fat to be like a stubborn little intruder that WON'T GO AWAY.
-
Another delicious pb treat is to mash up 1 tbsp of peanut butter with half a banana. Eat it with a spoon. Thank me later.

Mesh strainer works, and additionally you could dunk the strainer into a bowl of water and swish it around. I would probably repeat that a couple times till the water runs clear.

I think this is wise advice. If you crave something, have a little bit! That's the only way a healthy lifestyle can truly be sustainable.

Real, full-fat dessert. Look at my food diary and you'll see what I mean. I don't crave refined sugar till after dinner. Homemade choc chip cookies, full-fat ice cream. I love it too much. I measure my portions, carefully though. Good thing I like to run!

Raw, whole kiwis with the skin on! Such a great snack. Don't know why I hadn't eaten them that way before.

I made spaghetti last night. I put my plate on my kitchen scale, and put cooked pasta on the plate. It measured as 2 oz. So this should be about 210 calories, right?

That's funny. My left shin has always been my problem spot, too! I finished C25K in November, and I think my left shin started hurting in week 4 or so. Over the second half of the C25k program I got aches and pains in new areas (calves, glutes) because my body was getting accustomed to the distance. Your shoes are probably…

How about just plain coffee? Throw some yummy stevia and cinnamon in there with just a tiny splash of nonfat milk, and you're set.

You're a total badass. Wow!!!

Couch to 5k. It REALLY works!!

I have an office job, and there have been several instances lately where I've sabotaged my diet with extra treats that I otherwise wouldn't have been craving. It's hard because if I want to have dessert later that night, I had better make sure to exercise or I'll be way over my cals for the day. Some recent examples:…

Thin Mints Gooey chocolate chip cookies right out of the oven Scoops of garlicky hummus made with good olive oil

I think you should eat some filling healthy foods before you go and plan ahead to eat a certain amount of treats. Have some whole grains, lean protein and an apple, and plan to have 1 cupcake when you are there.

Yes...I guess I was figuring that once I hit my goal weight, my RMR and calories burned through exercise would reduce so that my maintenance calories would have to stay low. As long as I am eating whole foods, I don't feel hungry at 1200/day. But now that I am thinking about it, even with the new body weight taken into…
-
This is great advice. Thanks.
-
I am interested that you see the 1200/day as a short term practice. If you go back to 2000 cals per day, wouldn't you be building up excess calories and eventually gain the weight back?
-
Yeah, it's very strange. Well, what we know is that the universal rule is that 3500 excess calories equals one pound of weight gain. I guess our basal metabolic rates + height + weight + level of daily activity generally evens out to 1200??? Weird.

I keep seeing 1200 as everyone's goal calorie amount. How can that be?? I weigh 129, trying to get to 120. I really think that this program makes it clear that whole foods are the only way to stay within your calorie limits comfortably. Filling WHOLE grains, veggies, fruits, lean protein. If your calories are eaten up (pun…
