  • They are not the same as sugar, but they can still cause blood sugar spikes if you are monitoring that. Check out this resource: http://www.ketogenic-diet-resource.com/sugar-alcohol.html
  • I lift weights/do strength training on the other days per the guidelines of my fitness instructor at the gym! When I lose 100 pounds, I want to start doing more intense weight lifting. Thanks for the advice though!
  • You guys are giving great advice and you really make me feel better too! I think it's tempting sometimes to compare where you are with others so to hear you guys say that my four minute achievement is awesome makes me feel great. :) Thankfully I wasn't totally wiped out the next day or anything, so I think what I'm going…
  • I can definitely see that. When I did my first jog interval, I made the mistake of stopping and my legs started spasming, so I walked a little longer and that went away. I think what I might do is up the amount of time I jog in the hour. Last time I only jogged for maybe about 10 minutes total throughout the whole time.
  • That is great advice, thank you so much! I was thinking about upping the incline. I mean I do work a great sweat as it is now, but I think the adrenaline from jogging my longest time (4 minutes, I know it's laughable to some) just kept me going haha. I'll tinker around with it some more :)
  • I have similar voices, mostly because of comments I've received . . . I was told last year that it didn't matter if I lost weight or not because my body was ruined and would never look "normal". You just have to remember that it's not about what other people think when they look at you at your goal weight. There are always…
  • I just made hawaiian pizza with alfredo sauce. It was awesome and I have zero regrets.
  • 2 litres a day is pretty high in my opinion OP, I think you would benefit from adding more water instead seeing as soda can dehydrate you. My other warning is my friend's mother damaged her esophagus lining from drinking about two litres a day of Diet Coke. I haven't drank soda in a month and I feel much better for it. If…
  • Exactly. I did lose about 60 pounds when I was a junior in high school, but it was because I hated myself. Every hour I was working out, it was all about how horrible I was and how awful it was for me to be the size that I was. So, I quickly gained it all back because self-hate does not allow for long-term life changes. It…
  • Here is why I need fat acceptance: Bodies are ever-changing, wonderful creations. I am very fat. Super fat. And I am working to change that, as I’ve realized that over the years I turned to emotional binge eating as a way to deal with trauma. But here’s the thing, everyone who thinks that shaming will make people lose…
  • All men have all different concepts of beauty. There are men out there who want women so fat they're immobile and find them devastatingly attractive. You don't have to worry about finding someone who likes you in SPITE of your body. You will find someone who loves you for your personality and the way you look. I met my…
  • He never wore a shirt when we went out in public together!
  • There is no easy way to do it. I just decided that I wasn't going to drink it anymore. It's hard because my fiance drinks coke regularly but I don't drink anything but water and ocassionally some milk (well, and alcohol sometimes). Once you stop drinking it, you start to realize how addicted you were to it . . . I was…
  • It depends on what your needs are, like everyone else says. But I really like Charity Miles. It tracks your progress AND you can help out charities while you do it! Last time I did it I walked my dog for 2.565 miles and donated 6.41 puppy and kitten vaccinations. I think it's a great way to get more out of your workout.
  • I'm 22 and I need to lose over 100 pounds! Add me if you want <3
  • - Be on top and not have to worry about crushing my fiance. - Actually be carried over the threshold when we get married - Anything I do now but with much less effort - Have children! (PCOS makes it difficult and it's not a good idea to be extremely overweight and have children because it can put undue stress on the baby)…
  • I think some times it might be emotional related. Like, today, I saw a chubby young girl working out with a trainer, and I got very emotional because well, that's what I used to be, but I hated myself too much to do anything about it and battled with abuse and binge eating. But most of the time, I'm not really thinking…
  • That makes a lot of sense. It's more like an "overwhelmed" feeling, not necessarily sad, so the endorphins thing probably is the reason why. Thanks!
  • I don't think I was being outlandish. One of the first responses a woman gets if they say they're upset is, "Are you PMSing?" or something flippant like "go buy some tampons." Then again, I'm 22, and I mostly hang out around younger guys, so that's probably why.
  • I have been putting a lot of thought into my rewards! When I reach my ultimate goal weight loss of 200 pounds down, then I want to get a tattoo. As for the mini goals, I'm not so sure. I do know that when I lose 100 pounds I want to start Crossfit/competitive weightlifting. I would love to be strong!
  • Last year I was trying to get some exercise by biking around my neighborhood and a family stood on the porch and gawked at me, pointing and laughing. It made me so upset; I went inside and started crying . . . I was trying to better myself; why did they think it was appropriate to laugh at me? Not to mention they were all…
  • You've got the right idea, friend :)
  • As a fat person I appreciate knowing that others aren't looking down on me, I really do! But when I'm at the gym, I'm just there to work out, like everybody else. The other day someone gave me a thumbs up and started cheering me on when I was doing push ups, and I appreciate that! But also, I'd like to be ignored, like…
  • I'm very fat and my workout clothes are simple. I wear leggings from walmart (Faded Glory brand - 12 bucks for two), Danskin bike shorts (these are super stretchy - no idea how they fit on me, honestly) over the leggings, a long tanktop from forever 21 ($5 for one), and another loose Men's tanktop over it. The essential…
  • Do you have a gym? Because you can get a free consultation (usually) to set up a regimen. I put together a routine under their supervision of cardio 2-3 times a week and strength training 2-3 times a week. If you talk to a trainer at the gym they'll help put one together for your goals. That would probably be your best bet…
  • I have PCOS. I think I have been using it as an excuse for my weight gain for so long. But no disease can warrant someone being THIS fat, I think. (Just speaking for me personally.) I have found that a lower carb diet like Keto works really well for keeping energy levels up, but it would hurt my stomach, so now I just get…
