  • Welcome to MFP! Great people and support here! Feel free to add me, if you wish.
  • I would definitely stick with Level 1 until you can get through it fairly easily with minimal breaks, if any. Level 2 and 3 are killer so take your time! That DVD yields great results if you keep at it so dont give up! Ive had it for over a year now and still fall back on it from time to time. I love her other DVD's also.…
  • Definitely can see the difference! Great job!
  • I did and lost a pound. But, I think the loss is because I was up a lb in water weight the day before and really watched the sodium on Thanksgiving. Plus, I made sure I went for a long walk that morning to burn of some calories to minimize the damage. So, now Im back to where I started a few days ago......the journey…
  • Just saying Thank You works just fine. Yesterday, a relative I hadnt seen in a while said "you look really great". I didnt know if he was commenting on my weight loss (if he had even noticed) or that I just look fine in general. If I had started talking about my weight loss and he wasnt referring to that, then I would have…
  • My calorie setting was to losing 1 lb per week. I have changed it to .5 lbs. Hope this helps! Thanks guys!
  • Glad to see Im not alone....getting rid of the larger size clothes was a pivotal moment for me...no turning back now!
  • Wont that cause a weight gain, potentially?
  • Great idea! I should have done that!
  • Im curious, how does that help if it adds calories to your daily intake?
  • Welcome to MFP! Sounds like you are off to a great start!
  • Ive always been cold natured but it definitely has magnified since losing weight. It doesnt help that my blood pressure is low (90/60). I keep my heater on in the office in the summer when others are cranking up the A/C!
  • Incorporate cardio in with your weight workout. I used to start with the treadmill at the gym and then progress to weights/machines. However, as soon as I switched that (start with weights then cardio), my weight loss has sped up and Im losing more inches. Something to do with burning off the sugars first...I dont know the…
  • I live in NC but in the Outer Banks. Hello fellow NC user!
  • Im not happy with my arms either after losing 41 lbs and within 20 lbs from a healthy goal weight. Ive heard arm fat can be the last to go. Keep at it
  • Hit the thrift stores and/or buy a few key pieces of clothes to get you through this season. Just last weekend I cleaned out my closet of all of my 'fat' clothes from last fall and winter which left me with virtually nothing to work with. I work in an office and have to have professional attire and also need casual…
  • Id like to get down to a size 8 because Ive never been that small as an adult. I started at a solid size 16 and am now fitting into a 10 in most clothes. It's hard to really know what size you are because everything fits differently brand to brand and because some stores offer "vanity sizing" to make you think you are…
  • It's all in your mindset. Tell yourself that you are going to DO it, not just TRY. If you set small goals (even daily goals), hold yourself accountable and rely on your support system you will get there. The journey to lose weight and get healthy can be a long, bumpy one but it is worth it! YOU CAN DO IT!! :)
  • Thanks for the feedback and comments everyone! In some respects, I think my husband turned a blind eye to my weight gain...He always tells me he is happy with the way I look. Even when I show him pics of me a year ago (we were together then!) he does a double take. Did he not notice the weight? Doubtful, but I guess he can…
  • Congrats! I love the 30 Day Shred. I have progressed through the three levels a few times and always go back to it. Its a great work out and fun!

  • Im a tall 5'3" on a good day! lol September was a struggle as I hit another plateau. Im about 20 lbs from my goal weight and I guess it's to be expected to have the weight come off slowly at this point. I think I need to go back to the basics....Jillian Michaels DVD's everyday. Ive had more success with those than spending…
  • Wow! Its amazing how your body changes shape as you lose weight. Great job!
  • You look awesome...great job! You are so right about the power of pictures to gauge your success. I recently came across some pics of myself taken years ago and could not believe the difference even 40 lbs makes. Congrats on your success!
  • You are not alone!! Im right there with you....5'3 and at 151 lbs finally today after sitting at 154 (+/- 2 lbs) for a few weeks. Just be sure to keep a small, if any, calorie deficit. When you are getting really close to your goal weight it is even more important because it is too easy to get under 1200…
  • I have the same issue! As Ive lost weight, my naturally wide hips look even bigger now that my waist is getting smaller. Squats, lunges, side leg lifts might help tone up that area. There are worse things than having wide hips though. Keep up the great work!
  • I always find that Bandolino jeans fit me best and they have boot cut. I usually find them at Belk Dept store but Im sure they can be found elsewhere as well. Price is usually $35. They have some stretch to them as well. Good luck!
  • I bought a HRM at KMart for $40 (Sportline S12) but was not happy with it! I recently bought a Polar FT4 from Amazon for $65 and LOVE it! Easy to use and it has a chest strap (was leary about this but it is comfortable and gives an accurate HR). It gives the HR, calorie burn, your target zone, length of exercise, etc and…
  • I would definitely tell him. Better he find out from you directly than realize you dont have it on and then you have to tell him. A few years ago I lost my engagement ring. Searched everywhere for it and was really upset! I told my husband (then fiance) about it and he was awesome about it and said "you could lose your…
  • Mine was seeing my relative having limited treatment options for an illness due to being overweight. The doctors said he would have so many more options if only he was at a lower or healthier weight. I decided right then that I would never want to suffer through an illness or disease because of something I did to myself.…
  • I recently bought a heart rate monitor and found the same thing to be true. I burn many more calories biking than walking even though walking feels like more physical exertion. My heart rate stays in the target fat burning zone during biking while I have to be walking pretty fast with arms pumping to get it to that level.…
