I think about making the goal I have set for that day...how many miles I want to run, what pace I want to maintain, keeping my heart rate in a particular zone. I think about losing inches from my belly and how working out will make that happen. Or, I just zone out...enjoy the music I'm listening to and enjoy the time to…

Husbands and wives need to have activities that are their own things. She should respect that lifting is your thing. If she wants to do Zumba as hers, that's fine. But it's not a bad thing, and is actually healthy for a marriage, as long as you do have activities that you share. If going to the gym at the same time is…

When I feel good, I work out a lot. When I'm in pain, which can last for weeks, I don't do anything. Last year I lost 35 pounds, but had a 4…

I allow one day per week where I can splurge a little...have a dessert...drinks...cheeseburger...pizza...whatever. I don't gorge myself, but allow one treat so that I am not depriving myself and am even ok with going over my calorie limit a little that day. I have also found that I can kick my cravings for bad food with…

I would track your measurements to see if you are getting smaller. If you are staying within your calorie limit as you say and you are exercising regularly, you could be adding some muscle weight. It may take a couple of weeks to see the scale numbers drop, but I wouldn't worry about it to much if your losing inches. I…

We have similar stories. I am 37, male, 5' 8" tall, and started my weight loss at 202 lb back in March. I lost about 25 pounds by eating healthier and exercising more with a combination of running, swimming, and weight training when I found MFP a couple of weeks ago. I am now at 170, wearing size 32 pants for the first…
