It can usually be a cycle for many...stress and our bowels! I remember it well. Digestion is controlled by the enteric nervous system consisting of millions of nerves that communicate with the central nervous system. Soooo..needless to say stress will affect various digestive and intestinal responses in the body! ChefSusan…

I'm laughing at whomever I was reading here it is that is trying to insist pure virgin coconut oil is a processed food! WTH? Wow...amazing... Actually there is so much scientific evidence to support...it is everywhere. My MD uses it and recommends it to his patients...he is a research fanatic! I think what it comes down to…

I don't think there's a right or wrong here...whatever gives you the most 'relief' to do or not to do...if that makes sense. Like someone else here, I go by my clothes...(I moved recently and have no idea where my scale is lol) - But that's me....you 'know' when you feel lighter and clothes feel comfortable etc.

Definitely a home cook...I'm vegetarian and boyfriend meat eater...so always looking for help!

Back when I quit I allowed myself 2 weeks to snack...and when i did snack I ate alot of unbuttered popcorn(cooked the old fashioned way in pan on stove using light olive oil) sprinkled with parm cheese. Drink lots of water...oh..and I learned how to crochet...lol kept my hands busy

Diet hot chocolate with fat free whipped cream? :o)

I don't know what my problem is...lol Still motivation is an issue...grrr....I get up early enough so that is not the problem...I do live in an upper flat so I am conscious of being quiet in the early hours...so I'm riding my new recumbant bike...today I had half day at work and lots of errands but just finished 20 min of…

Thanks for the welcome! Gotta start somewhere :o)

Ok bear with me as I was trying to figure out where this 'group' was lol but saw the option on top of page for 'groups' and then my groups. You can tell I am not a pro at this. Since I am off work today I will prob ride my exercise bike for a bit and then go for a walk later, but will be sure to check back in. thanks again…

I also need some accountability....and motivation....Winter is too easy to get lazy where I live! Hope to stay on track! So count me in if still room!! Thanks

I find it can drive you nuts to compare yourself to everyone else...we are all at different levels, at various levels of fitness etc. Find what works for you and what you will actually DO and hopefully something that you can look forward to. Learn to adapt when time, weather, injuries etc may come in to play. Keep a DVD on…

Well I have to thank you for this post. I had been on this site back before summer...lost a few pounds but got to the point that I HATED thinking about food...(not that I wasn't hungry lol) but I was sick of logging each scrap that I ate. 1200 calories was just not 'helping' me - mentally. I'm not knocking the…

have you done measurements at all? I'm feeling a bit better with clothes fitting a bit better (I'm only a couple weeks into this! lol). I've been pretty much on the mark with the calories...exercise is about 4-5 days a week at this point...but sometimes thngs get in the way and I can't fit it in...I've decided guilt is…

I have to agree with the the idea of reconsidering easing your non-meat eating concepts. I've been a vegetarian for 15 yrs..no meat or fish. Personal decision..not married to it...lol but it works for me. However I have eased up on the no fish concept over past year and now will eat some fish fairly regularly. Do you eat…

Bump as I need to wrap my head around this :o)

I'm enjoying the 30 Day Shred dvd. by Jillian Michaels..20-25 min...of circuit training...really a great workout and only on day 6 and I can already feel my pants are a little looser, right out of the dryer...lol Anyone can commit to 20-25 min a day..and what's nice is you really feel like you worked out...ie...cardio,…

What a difference...certainly earns you reason to smile more....how exciting!
-
should be a regular event......I do a colon cleanse often for overall health maintenance
-
I know what you mean...even if you have a really great 'reason' to stay on your game and motivated, you can still find yourself blah about the whole deal! So allow yourself to feel this way...for a few hours or a day or so...then the next time you realize you have been off track...decide right then to go get a glass of…

I find this entire conversation hilarious...why is it even on here so folks can argue about it? I've been vegetarian for 15 yrs...personal choice and all that. I'm also a master herbalist and natural health practitioner...and quite frankly there is no right or wrong in my opinion...(yes, my opinion) . I see healthy people…
-
Luckily much of it is actually quite healthy...you may get into more calories with rice etc...but I'm vegetarian and always find plenty of healthy, foods to enjoy...you can also ask about how spicey it will be or how you'd like it, in most places. Enjoy!

HI all...I started the 30DS Monday...I enjoy the feeling of it working me...while I have 20-25 lbs to lose I never thought I was so out of shape...but I am..lol. I can barely do the push ups, even the easier version...so I do the few that I can...lol always had weak upper strength...but anything is better than nothing. And…

Actually with pretty much every substance natural or synthetic, you will be able to find many 'for and against' articles, science and research claims to prove one way or the other, as well as people's opinions as to their beliefs and how they view these claims. Bottom line? Opt for less chemicals in general...and if you…

I just finished a 1oz bag of SunChips...harvest cheddar flavor...lol 140 calories..but for someone like me who snacks it does help to fill a void. I also bought some of those Keebler 100 calorie little packs of cookies...again...fills a need and makes me feel like I have access to food. Not sure if you are on any…

It's really a preference...whatever works for YOU to keep you on track. Personally I usually snack a little between meals...busier days, maybe not...but helps my blood sugar and mood :o)
-
Just found this site...lots on MFP seem to know about it...new to me..lol But it's called www.skinnytaste.com LOTS of recipes with dietary info after each one...so you can use or modify...all are healthier and calorie conscious. I am so happy I found it! :o) Katy
-
Modify! We aren't machines...lol Seriously you are doing this to lose weight and improve your health...so do what you need to do to get it done. Walk in place, do wall pushups, do half of what they do...etc...bottom line is you are MOVING...and once you do a 30 day shred...you will have built some muscle...burned calories…
