I need a little bit of "fattening" stuff to keep my sanity. It satisifes and fills me up more than anything else. It won't work for everyone, and some days it all goes to heck and I over do it. Write it down, take credit...it's the guilt and blaming myself that is the real problem. I tend to say screw it, if I've fallen off…

Hi! I'm Shelly and I was diagnosed with RA this week. I will be starting meds soon, but I have to wean my 9mo dtr first who I'm still breastfeeding. I think I am more upset about that than I am about my diagnosis. Looking for some support as I start down this long road. I need to feel better to keep up with 3 kids 4 and…

I log in breakfast, then pre-log what goes into my lunch box. What I don't eat, I delete. Kind of makes me a little more accountable...don't want to have to come home and add extra stuff I shouldn't have eaten that day. Dinner gets logged in that night or the next morning.

Mine were breastfeed for 1 year (I had to supplement too). Once they could use a sippy cup, we do water or on very rare occasions, fruit juice. Now that my 2 oldest are no longer breastfeeding, they drink milk (non-fat or 1% per my pediatricians recommendation). My 3 yo and 22 mo both like and ask for water. On rare…

Any advice on trying to lose weight while breastfeeding. I don't want to drop my supply by cutting too much. What's appropriate at this stage of the game?

They sell this stuff at Tractor Supply or Walmart called anti monkey butt powder. Sounds stupid (the picture of the monkey is stupid), but it really works. Also shower to shower powder works really well.

After 3 kids in 4 years --- here's the deal...you will gain weight when you're pregnant, but it can all come back off (they say it takes 10 months to put it on so it can take that long to get it back off.) There's no certain amount, some gain more than others and it will vary from one pregnancy to the next (I gained more…

I started Metformin several years ago. I lost 40 lbs in 6 weeks without really trying. But after that...I'm on my own. The metformin has made it so if I really try hard, I can actually lose weight. Before, no matter what I did, nothing seemed to work. Mostly it has alleviated a lot of the overwhelming fatigue I was…

Whenever I need a recipe for anything, I go to allrecipes.com. They have a great search app and most of the recipes have nutrition details. You can view other people's comments too for ways to modify it, etc. It's great for when you're thinking "I've got____, but don't know what to do with it!"

I'm Shelly and I am a big girl too! Just had my 3rd child and I'm back on MFP (decided to take a break during my pregnancy). Got a little more baby weight to lose, and then back to my under 200lbs goal. Feel free to friend me...we can support each other!

Why cut out all grains??? Celiac or diabetes...there's still some you can have. Just wondering?

Looking up recipes and just trying new stuff is the best way to build up your recipe box. I watch cooking shows some too. Not so much for the recipes, but for the techiniques and just seeing how other people put stuff together. Then it's easier to make stuff healthier or ad lib some with what's in your cabinets. Of course…

Everyone's IBS is different. You'll have to figure out what triggers your symptoms by being a detective. Track your food and your symptoms. Also keep track of your periods.....certain times of month make my IBS worse. Since salads set me off, I just don't eat them as much. It's a little harder to diet when you can't…

These kids obviously already have unhealthy relationships with foods. If you take them away from their parents, are we equipped to get them the psychological help they will need to deal with the emotional turmoil, or will we just be giving them more excuses to eat? Maybe there are very extreme cases where this would…

I'm so glad she''ll be ok. Just remember she's responsible for her behavior and you whether or not you talked to her more or spent more time with her doesn't change the dark place she was in and her choices. She's getting the help now she needs from professionals. Please take care of yourself and remember our thoughts and…

I totally understand the heat and humidity...Kentucky is all that and more! I try and not set myself up to fail. Don't try and be perfect all at once. If logging in all of the time is a problem, work on that first. Then work on keeping your calories in line, then work on exercsing more consistantly or drinking more water.…

Nobody said you had to eat chicken and veggies all of the time. There are lean cuts of pork and beef as well. Try an all vegetarian meal or maybe some tofu (never tried it but some people love it). I have found some great recipes on the forums here or on skinnytaste.com if you need to spice things up! If I ate chicken,…

Even if you can't take any medications, you sound like you could still use a little support and monitoring. Some of the PCOS websites have docs who are familiar with PCOS. I think that you are just going to have to stay diligent, even when you aren't losing weight just to keep from gaining it. You may find that your body…

Totally understand----but since it's not changing anytime soon, I guess I'll have to work with it. Sigh.

I find that eating out and /or fast food are not entirely avoidable. And I don't always want to avoid it--it can be a wonderful social activity. However, if I know ahead of time, I look up their website and try and make some informed decisions. If I can't look or there is no website, I try and guess at some healthy choices…

I didn't look at your food diary or anything, but just as a side note, maybe you should get your thyroid checked and stuff. Having kids can get it a little messed up sometimes. Might help!?
