  • My training week goes like; Monday- pre work cardio Tuesday - post work circuit class Wednesday - rest and knitting circle, cos that's how I roll :sunglasses: Thursday - post work circuit class Friday - pre work cardio Weekend - rest, but I tend to walk a lot if that counts? The circuit class has a mix of activities but…
  • Also he used the blade on dry skin, I had booked to have a wash and cut but the plumbing was out so he did just a dry cut- I doubt this helped?

  • Holly crap o-o I went to a highly rated barber that has a high focus on traditional methods. He used a straight razor like the kind in Sweeny Todd, I had gotten there early and saw that there was an apprentice in charge of cleaning the blades between use so it wasn't completely unhygienic. And it's not derailing it, more…

  • Personally I think the big issue is that some diets, ie what people eat rather then a fad five day stupidity in magazines and papers, don't necessarily work for everyone. I eat low carb, and have done since before this became the latest trend, because I'm at a high risk of diabetes and was advised to by my doctor and a…

  • low carbing and using a Jawbone, so possibly a double whammy!
  • First week is most likely water weight, which you generally loose quickly. After that your body is getting into pace with your new lifestyle choices, so give it time. The old mantra comes to mind this is not a sprint, it's a marathon.
  • Medical opinion changes frequently, and more often than not takes a while to 'trickle down' to your GP.

  • Hi I have the same issue but with a Jawbone (they'll use a similar API). I've launched a case for the tech guys to investigate- I'd suggest you do the same as it appears to be something on MFP's end rather then the activity monitors.
  • I bought mine from Asda, it's nothing special. If you go into any supermarket or bargin shop and pick up an electronic scale (I think mine was on offer for a fiver) it'll do you well. Cups are inaccurate as they're measurements of volume, which can be inaccurate as what ever you're measuring may not be consistent in shape.…
  • The first and the last yeah, but I've started to be able to 1) get the guts to try on clothes at high street shops 2) have on more than one occasion bought something. That and I'm a continual day dreamer.
  • Multiple things, I imagine myself walking into my school reunion being hot as *kitten* Then there is also the wonders of going into a highstreet shop with my friends and not coming out with just jewellery (a fat girl will never be beaten on accessories) as I can't fit in anything. Lastly, also again kind of shallow…
  • Personally I don't eat my exercise calories unless I'm going to some event and want to cushion the predictable over eating. MFP generally builds in a 500 calorie deficit unless you other wise ask it to, which is widely accepted as a healthy amount. Which you have in this case, without knowing your basal metabolic rate (the…
  • Have you tried cooking it differently? Or eating them raw? I hate cooked carrot but love them raw  As I live by myself if there's something I don't want to eat- I don't buy it to begin with. The same goes with food I'd know I'd binge on, like artisan breads, crisps, blocks of cheese (I buy the little proportioned…
  • A good attitude towards it all is a must, as soon as you start to dislike doing things (clean eating/exercising/logging) you'll start finding reasons to avoid doing it, and justifying those reasons! If something isn't working for you instead of going down the avoiding spiral, address it head on and change it for something…
  • I use a Jawbone UPmove, as it was being sold dirt cheap at a local bargin shop! I did buy it as I am having issues sleeping as well as wanting to monitor my activity more closely, and it does both. It's very motivating and links directly to MFP (when it works correctly). I've also go a My Zone belt, I'm still working out…
  • My contract states an hour break, which I can break down how ever I like. I'm unsure if I want to break it as I may use it as a way to go for a walk before/after eating my lunch. It is my first day so just testing the water. I do like the peanut butter ideas :D
  • reality will hurt when it hits you. Follow the app, and also look into the C25K you'll find it very useful. Good luck

  • I've probably been looking in the wrong place, thanks for the help x
  • I'm weighing in here as I've dated as many 'girls' as I have guys. It's pretty dependant on the person! I had an exgf that was so serious had the whole ten year plan, the uni she'd go to the jobs and internships she'd apply to and a rough date on when she'd come out to her parents- they thought we were just 'very good…
  • Bit of a mixed bag for me, I'm in sales. I'm doing it partly as the clothes I want to wear aren't always flattering/available in my current/past size. Equally I like the confidence that it gives me, knowing you can pick people up really gives your ego an injection! Mostly I'm doing it for my health but the other reasons…
  • When I next go into the gym I'll see if they have any knocking about, it's rather large and sometimes you can't find something unless you go looking for it! I'm positive they'll have some, see how my form is with 8kg and 12kg, it's not like it's my first foray into weights just doing it at home with limited instruction.…
  • Thanks for all the replies! As I'm in the UK not all of them are viable but thanks for the thought, guys! Considering this I may get the 8kg, get technique down and then move along from there to the larger ones. I was worried that if I went to a larger one too quickly without getting the movements right I may be doing more…
