  • Welcome! I also found MPF through my iPhone app and have lost 8-10 pounds in about two weeks! I tried the 30DS yesterday, with no weights, and it kicked my butt too. Never sweated like that in my life, and ended up throwing up a bit after..haha. I won't be able to do it everyday but I'll probably try to do it whenever I…
  • I got the candy bars from Rite Aid. The Heavenly Crisp bars have wafers in them so feel lighter than most candy bars that often leave me all sugared out and sticky. Nom nom nom :3
  • She has always been lighter than me, and she did recently gain a little bit...of course she is good 10 pounds lighter (we're the same height) but I guess that could be it.
  • GUYS! Okay so right after the workout I drank a cup of water and sat down to post this thread...and then I felt sick. I ended up throwing up - I really did not want to but did. I felt more coming but I tried very hard and suppressed it. Can't believe a workout had me throwing up... Anyway I'll be doing it again tomorrow…
  • I am set to lose 2 pounds a week, but I am more realistically trying to lose around 1.5lb per week.
  • I didn't eat much fatty unhealthy food...what I was trying to say was that all we had in the house for me to eat at night was fatty unhealthy food. So I was left between going to bed hungry and eating that unhealthy food. I just went to bed hungry...gotta stock up more on healthy food!
  • Dear OP, I understand you COMPLETELY. 1. Tough love does not work on me at ALL. My mother claims it does and that's the reason why I've been losing weight the past two weeks, but she doesn't know that her comments almost made me bulimic. I love her, but the tough love thing is pretty awful on the receiving end. 2. Success…
  • Excellent job!! Funny you posted your college grad pics...I look awful in my graduation pictures and that's a part of the reason I jumped on board with this!!!
  • I don't teach school, but I've been teaching small classes after school/ private tutoring for many many years (I started when I was like thirteen). This summer I do 2-5 hours of teaching daily. And frankly, I blame some of my weight on that. The thing about teaching is that while it does not require a lot of physical…
  • Men do lose faster than women do. All the friends I know who have lost weight a lot very fast are all guys. Also, was he heavier than you to begin with? Heavier you are, the faster you can lose weight initially. And if you are losing 1-2 pounds a week, that's good! That's very much so by the book. :)
  • Excellent work!!! I am an inch shorter than you and started MPF at 179 pounds (basically 180). Around eleven pounds to go until 160, and it's so great to see you looking so good!!! Of course I am shorter so I probably won't look THAT awesome, but it's so inspiring! :D
  • Oh, cee134's reply explained it better for me. Okay, in those terms, I do it two separate ways: 1. Dated goals. As in, get down to however many pounds by a certain date. 2. Undated goals with rewards. For example, when I get down to 169.0lb, no matter when, I promised myself a treat. I have all these down all the way down…
  • I don't know what you mean by each goal being 5-10 pounds lost each (as in, the weight loss being the goal itself), but in terms of mini-goals, I've embarked on making myself daily goals for each day of the week. I took on the 150 squat mini-challenge, finished it, and felt great - so decided to make myself new goals every…
  • It was my first time doing more than twenty squats in a day (I think). I remembered in the afternoon (darn!) and went to the bathroom (haha) and did some. I ended up doing 50 this way. After I got home, I got it all in - broken up, yes, but all in. 150 squats. My lower thighs are killing me. I'm not counting my nightly…
  • I'll give this a go - 150 seems daunting (a while ago I used to do just one set of 20 - along with other moves) but since I can break it up, I'll try to do them all throughout the day! :)
  • This has been a very inspiring read, thank you for posting it. It's day twelve for me in this journey, and I've been logging and weighing myself everyday. I am afraid my body might go into starvation mode; I have been eating 650-1000 calories a day for the most part and of course, constantly hungry. People on this board…
  • Again, thank you for your kind words and concern. I am trying to combat this problem by myself for now (as it has been only few days) and become more aware of myself by sharing on MFP. Also I hope I did not come across as overly moody!
  • Thank you very much for all of your kind words. I started hoping to lose 2 pounds a week, and I think seeing myself lose faster made me ambitious to a point of purging and starving. Got to remind myself this is a slow process!
