  • I kept mine open for a long time, but as time went on, I noticed that when I would have bad days, I would just not log them because I felt embarrassed, like I was failing the world. Of course this guilt coupled with my not keeping track of what I was ingesting was taking bad days to being bad weeks and eventually bad…
  • If I eat too soon after waking up, I feel sick to my stomach the rest of the day. If I eat too much (more than an egg and half a cup of greek yogurt) for breakfast, I feel sick to my stomach for the rest of the day. I'm sure for some (even a lot) of people it's great and all, but for me (and many others), it's far from…
  • Had a fantastic spinach salad with tomatoes and chicken and broccoli and all the goodies. I do love my salad.
  • Breakfast: Breakfast egg rolls and Cracker Barrel's cheesy hashbrown casserole Second Breakfast: 2 glazed donuts and half a dozen donut holes Lunch: Chinese buffet Snack: Mashed potatoes with an extra dollop or five of sour cream Dinner: Stuffed crust chicken supreme, 5 hard shell taco supremes, and a frosty with a side of…
  • This is a great video. Favorited it for later use. Did a modified version of this and boy am I feeling it.
  • Soda. I don't even like it that much, but if it's in the house, the next thing I know, I'm laying in bed with an empty 2 liter and a Big Red mustache.
  • Depends. Generally just peanut butter or regular butter and maple syrup (boysenberry syrup if I've been able to find it locally). Sometimes I like to top with mixed berries and some whipped cream. Then some times I just add a bit of brown sugar and maple syrup to the batter and eat the pancake plain (This is really nice…
  • Eh, personally I don't use these names because I'm trying "get away with something," and I have no problem splurging and eating all the delicious, greasy, salty delicacies when I want to. I enjoy turkey bacon and I enjoy banana pancakes.. I call it turkey bacon because on the occasions I eat it, I eat with my eggs for…
  • I got a litle too lax this week- very little exercise, eating out multiple times, eating pre-packaged instead of making my own, etc, and it really affected me in a negative way. I"ve been more lethargic this weekend, my stomach has been making really unsettling sounds, I'm extra grumpy. Just all around, I don't feel…
  • I tried to work on my temper today. When I got too stressed out or frustrated, I left the room for a couple of moments, and focused all my thought on steady breaths. It's something I really need to do more often. My constantly being on the edge of a stress overload isn't good for my family or me.
  • Hmm, I've of two minds with this. On one hand, I see no reason there can't be a few of the things he likes around such as the whole milk. There are things I enjoy (cucumbers, tomatoes) that my husband doesn't, and things he likes (mushrooms, nuts) that I don't, but I keep both on hand for snacks and such throughout the…
  • Well, it's my goal weight, so eventually it will be accurate.
  • I picked the weight I was maintaining when I was most active. Of course, even then I thought I was a fat, disgusting mess of a human being... luckily my outlook on life has brightened a bit since those days.
  • I'd like to be in a tight 10/loose 12 by summer, which will be the smallest I've been in about 7 years. My final goal would be around a size 6, but I'm not glued to that number, if I hit 8 and I feel good and I look good, and I jog for a bit without feeling like death, I will be satisfied, and on the other side, if I hit…
  • Alcohol and pizza were really my big shockers. I mean, I knew pizza wasn't good for me, and it had a lot of calories, but 350 calories per slice? I used to eat 3 or 4 slices, 2 or 3 breadsticks, a side of cheese, and generally some sort of soda or energy drink. I mean, I would feel super full and know I ate too much, and…
  • I hope it's not too late to join in. SW: ~208ish CW: 202.1 Weigh in dates: 2/1: 203 2/8 2/15 2/22 2/28 Total Weight Lost: About 5 lbs since January 8th. Just For Fun: What are you going to do for yourself when you lose 5 pounds this month? - I'm going to Old Navy, and I'm going to buy a new pair of pants to workout in.…
  • Does anyone have any good non-deep-fried eggroll recipes? especially one that has a good crispy factor for the wrap?
  • I am doing ok. I am definitely doing a lot better than I used to (little to no eating out, drastically reduced amounts of freezer pizza and mindless snacking throughout the day), but I definitely need to start getting better about my sodium intake. As someone who rarely adds additional salt to a meal, I always assumed my…
  • Tim and Eric <3
  • The stretching was really nice. It's easy to overlook the benefits and pleasure a good stretch everyday can give. I'm going to be trying to do this every morning.
  • I love DDR! That was *the game* for my circle of friends in high school...I still have the steps for "In the Navy" memorized (yet I can't remember where I put my keys...go figure) My husband and I have been shopping around online to find a set of nicer mats. (Always hated the ones that came with the game.)

  • This is a great thread. I am proud that I didn't eat the rest of my son's birthday cake that has been sitting there, looking at me all day.
  • Someone must be cutting onions near me... This is truly inspiring. I love the emotional honesty of it. It's hard. It's going to suck sometimes. But keep at it, and eventually, things will change. I love it. Absolutely love it. Also, congratulations on your success and your beautiful family.
  • This is perfect. You've really captured all the various stages. Keeping this bookmarked for future reminders that it won't happen overnight.
  • Wow, this was a lot more demanding than I expected. I did the first couple and thought "Eh, this isn't so bad," then by the end I was just trying to remember how close the sofa was behind me so I could just comfortably collapse after. It was strangely fun though, which is not something I say often regarding exercise. I…
  • My favorite pants are a pair of Danskin from Wal-Mart. As far as tops go, right now I generally use Old Navy's basic ribbed tanks and their basic fitted tees, but once I loose a little more weight (down a size), I'm going to pick up a few of the fitted workout tanks from Old Navy. They have a lot of cute varieties and…
  • I'm 5'6ish and most happy I've been with my body was when I active in high school around 140. I was still a bit pudgy, but my basic shape was satisfying enough, so I think around that same weight with an emphasis on more muscle definition would really make me very happy. I could probably go a bit lower (125-130ish) and…
  • Oooh, I like that. That's going to go on my never ending list of good quotes.
  • I might be completely wrong, but I've always heard that you should shoot for no more than 1% of your body weight per week. (200 lbs > 2 lbs/week. 150 lbs > 1.5 lbs/week etc) I'm sure someone much more knowledgeable can give you much better, more accurate, more thorough advice.
  • Oh good luck! Big kudos to people attempting and/or completing that! The commercials for that always scare me! Maybe one of these days....
