You know, this actually brings up another question... if you cook a turkey breast or say a frozen ham, aren't they also packed with preservatives? And sodium? I honestly asking. Maybe I should go get one of those commercial meat slicers lol
-
First, thanks for all the replies. I assumed it was either sodium or additives. The post I saw from another thread pretty much suggested that it was foolish to think you could lose weight eating processed foods all the time, and I understand the concept, but the lunchmeat reference was what caught my eye. Second, back up…

Good luck with everything! I find the iPhone app amazingly handy.

If you know the secret to letting go of that anger, let me know will ya?

I believe that once you lose a certain percentage from your initial weight, MFP will prompt you and ask if you want to recalculate your goals based on your new weight.
-
Yes, you do. This question gets asked all the time, and there are many posts on why. If you search for something like "eat exercise calories" you will find plenty.

First, great nickname. That a shout out to 311? Good luck with the C25K. A lot of people on here do it. I have been trying to do something similar but have been having bad shin pains so have to take it slower than I want. But this is a great site!

I agree with the last post. I am frequently over on protein and under on the rest. I posed that question on these threads and a lot of people said MFP only allots 15% to protein or something like that, and many people don't agree with MFP ratios. Like you, one would think protein was good for building muscle. And I also…

Woo Hoo, I'm making sense today!!!

I've been thinking this one over, as I do drink in varying degrees but often. I think the best answer I can give you is thay while there are certainly other ways to unwind, they do not provide the same type of relief. For example, exercising may in fact provide stress relief, but I do not feel the same after a trip to the…

Excellent topic, it seems to be the theme for today! :drinker:

I drink diet pepsi all day, but for some reason can't stomach diet ginger (with my Crown) or diet tonic.
-
We need more posts like this

First, let me just say I completely misread the word "shift" in your Topic as something else  I have the same problem. Having been down this path before, and it's frustrating. I would see the scale go down over the week, only to bounce back over the weekend. The question is, how often are you weighing yourself and…

I think sometimes the body just needs a break, which is why so many people hit a plateau and then suddenly drop.
-
Amazing job. Thanks for the inspiration! I have a closet full of clothes with the tags still on them because they don't fit.
-
Not sure what calorie limit you are trying to stay within, but there are a lot of low cal or "lite" buns available out there.
-
THANKS!

Let me sleep on that one. As a dad you would think I could answer this.
-
She took the words right out of my mouth on both those points. Which HRM do you recommend?
-
Actually, several diet plans recommend you eat more frequent smaller meals throughout the day e.g. 5 smaller meals every 2 1/2 hours than 2 large ones every 4. This will keep your digestion and metabolism churning and fight your hunger issues.

It only took me 60 seconds to realize how full of crap I was, but you guys are too fast with your posts! lol
-
You know, ignore what I just said, that's just me blaming someone else for something entirely within my control. Yes, we DO take it too easy on ourselves!
-
Nobody is harder on me than me. In fact, I think everyone else being so nice and polite about things is what lets me take it easy on myself. It's not like I want people on the street calling me a fat *kitten*, but I also don't need my friends luring me out for cocktails after work when I should be going to the gym!
-
I would go with the HRM.
-
This is my problem as well. I disagree with the previous post suggesting you have to give it up even temporarily. But I also agree with the other post that cutting it out will probably dramatically effect your results if you drink often enough. I suppose it depends on what you drink and how often.

Jillian Michaels seems to be a favorite on here for overall toning.

I would definitely go with BBQ
