If any ketoers would like to add me, I've been doing it since earlier this year and am down 50lbs so far. Happy to provide tips or support as well, if needed. :)

I love my full beard. I've had it for years and wouldn't shave it for anything. Plus, it makes me feel like a viking when I'm out running and need to motivate myself.

I've been on a keto diet since November 28th. Since that time, I've lost 56lbs of body fat. My ratio has been 5% net carbs, 35% protein and 60% fats. I'm 6' and currently 297lbs. My fat and protein typically settle around 120-130g per day and carbs at 20. I eat 75%+ of my carbs by the time lunch is over, so that I intake a…

Like a couple of others on here, maintaining a strict ketogenic diet has been a huge success when it comes to losing weight through proper eating, and little to not exercise. With my daily macro ratio of 5% carbs, 30-35% protein and 60-65% fats, I've been able to maintain the muscle mass I have, and burn the body fat that…

I'm +1 to thelowcarbrecipes. I've lost 54lbs since Nov 28th with the same ratios, 5% carbs, 30% protein and 65% fats. It's been awesome, I've been satiated the entire time, and I feel a hell of a lot better than I did just three months ago. Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter

I just finished a 5.5k walk in 56 minutes and burned 620 calories. I'm sure if I made that a run it would be 1000. But, I'm also 6' and 300lbs (thought down from 352 just 2.5 months ago)

Halifax here as well!

I just wanted to add a +1 to this. I've been on a strict very low carb (<20g/day) and high fat (60% of my caloric intake) and I've dropped 31 pounds now in 43 days, with no exercise at all. This doesn't include the 9lbs I gained and lost in that time as well. Purely a change in diet. NO diet has ever worked for me, except…

I didn't have one of those turning point "moments" this time, and I think that's why it's working for me now. In the past, it was always for a shot term goal. A competition at work, A pair of pants that didn't quite fit, but they were all short term cop-outs for a long term solution. This time, I just started, no flare or…

Not as bad as I expected, and I've already re-lost about half of it. I think I ended up with a net gain of around 9 lbs between Dec 24th and Dec 31st. I promised myself that I am sticking with this, and I feel like it's been easy to slide right back into it. Next step is to start adding some cardio/exercise to help push…

Fruit has full-stopped my weight loss on two occasions. The amount of natural sugars forces your insulin to spike, which in turn stores any fats you take in. Non-root vegetables (because of their low sugar and high fibre) do not have the same effect.

I've seen a few comments about cauliflower, so I wanted to provide *THE* way to prepare it. Take a full head of cauliflower (or equivalent frozen) and steam it until it's tender. Drain and then puree it in a food processor (or mash with a potato masher). Add about 1/4 cup of unsalted butter and about a 1/4 cup of milk (or…

My favorite side dish right now has to be the mashed cauiflower with butter/almond milk, sprinkled with shredded cheese and bacon bits. You'd never know it wasn't mashed potatoes. Bacon wrapped filet of beef are wonderful, as are my "meat salads". Basically, a bed of lettuce and an assortment of diced meats (pastrami,…
