Somehow I'm still losing...didn't work out as much this week as I wanted to, but I guess it was enough! Weighing in at 222.5 today for a 2.5 lb loss! Now if I could just get over this nasty cold...

Hey Southtown - sorry to hear about all the illness and whatnot, but glad everyone is well and you're on top of it! I had a little help with my loss as well in the form of a mild intestinal flu, but I like to think that a good chunk of the 5.5 lbs I dropped since last week was my own doing :) So, yeah, down to 225 today,…

Tuesday mornings right after I get to work. I wear the same outfit and shoes every Tuesday. I don't eat or drink anything until I've weighed in.

Hey welcome to the party megsie and grace! Nice work, Andy - cool that you are an archer! I loved archery in college. Southtown, good attitude - get through the wedding and then you can refocus. As for me, I'm up 0.5 lbs today to 230.5. Big picnic this last weekend, a birthday party as well, and I think my own birthday…

Assuming that your kids are in a Christian school because you are a Christian family, the only advice I would give is to pray together for God to reveal His will in your lives. Neither of you should pressure the other, but be open to the will of God and He will help you make the right decision for your family. I'll keep…

Looks like everyone is doing well this week! Yay! I'm down two more to an even 230.0. How exactly that happened I'm not sure (birthday week and all...some extra calories were involved), but I'll take it and press on. I really need to get a run in tonight!

I feel you brother - I'm 6'4" and "Healthy" weight range for me would be 152-205. That does seem low for me. BMI does not take into account your muscle mass, frame size, etc. I'm taking the approach of getting down to 220, then taking a good hard look at what that looks like/feels like. That will at least get the life…

Good job everyone! I'm weighing in late due to business travel. Down to 232.0 lbs today for a loss of 1.0 over the last week and couple days. Looking forward to checkin in next Tuesday...

Hi all, Weighing in at 233 today, a loss of 2.5 lbs this week! I've lost 10% of my body weight in 11 weeks - woohoo! Southtowngirl - looks like a nice loss after last weeks "gain" - good job! Xarra - don't sweat it - it happens. You'll get it back! 1009...- Alright! andy - that's awesome! Everyone else - keep up the great…

Better to err on the side of caution. I made the mistake of running too far too soon when I first took up running, and it led to an injury that killed my momentum and led to me taking years off, which is part of the reason I'm on this site to begin with. As others mentioned, you may be able to train to run-walk it, though.

Well, first question would be "What is your starting point?" What does your present weekly mileage look like?

Tuesday. It's the same day my wife has her Weight Watcher's meeting, so that way we weigh in on the same day and can compare notes and share encouragement.

Do you have a game system? If so, there are some great workouts for that (I like EA Sports Active 2). If not, there's always workout DVDs!

Go to a public place with an elevator. Try to get on last. As the doors close, turn and face everyone in the elevator and say "I suppose you're wondering why I've gathered you all here today..." and then just improvise something, or just leave it at that. Also fun, wait until the elevator is empty, then stand in the middle…

If you have a video game system, (Wii, Xbox 360, PS3), EA Sports Active 2 is a great workout with a 90 day program and customizable workouts. I really like it!

Based on what you said, I agree with Rybo. RICE and anti-inflammatories. Wait until you feel 100% before starting in slowly again. It is better to lose a few weeks of cardio now than to lose months of it later! If you need to feed the exercise bug, find some good chair workouts to exercise your upper body and core without…

Runner's knee is a broad category of injuries. It would be helpful if you could describe the injury in more detail (when does it hurt, where in the knee does it hurt, how bad does it hurt. Myself, I developed Illiotibial Band Syndrome a number of years back from going too far too soon, and was able to fully recover by…

I really like EA Sports Active 2 for the Wii. Total body tracking, heart rate monitor built into the arm sensor, and nice boot-camp style workouts. The exerband that comes with it is kinda cheap, but for less than $30 on amazon it's a great value!

Big thumbs up!

Weighing in at 235.5 this week, for a loss of 2 lbs. That takes me to 25 lbs over 10 weeks, and I had to swap belts! Looks like everyone is doing great this week. Southtowngirl, don't sweat the 0.2 lb "gain." Keep up the good work everybody! You guys totally rock! Andre

Also, I would suggest going for one pound per week. Your body needs fuel to run and you aren't going to regulate well if your body thinks it is starving. I have my calories set for one pound per week myself.

Hi there, and congrats on making a choice to get yourself healthy. Pat yourself on the back for that. Realize that this is a marathon, not a sprint. I started 10 weeks ago. Yes, I've lost 25 pounds in those 10 weeks, and it is easier for me because I am 6'4" and male. My first two weeks were my lightest losses. The body…

+1 on the laughing cow...many varieties that compliment various foods!

No. it will not always suck. If you stick with it, the new choices you are making will start to become habit. The results will come. You'll start to feel better about yourself, your diet, your exercise regimen. And you will look back on how you used to eat and live and you will realize that THAT is what sucked. We're here…

Awesome! Love the motivation!

Thanks everyone, yes, it does feel good...extra motivation for my long run tonight :)

Hmm...do they have lockers like Disneyland does? If so you could bring a small cooler with water and lunch and swing by the locker when the need arises.

Awesome!

I have a Polar M52 (older model, like 1999) Two issues here: 1. Chest strap The older chest straps are done when the battery dies as they are sealed and can not be opened. Polar can send you a new one and will take your old one, of course for a fee. There are newer chest straps out there (some by Polar, some not) which are…

A day late with my weigh in, but better late than never...weighing in at 237.5 for a loss of 2.5! See ya'll next week...until then, let's shrink those fat cells!
