I tend to burn more than the machine says, but I use interval training.

I have DDD and had my lower three discs removed and fused with bone spacers 4 yrs ago. OH MY!!! WISH I'D DONE IT YEARS BEFORE!! I fought getting it fixed due to hearing nightmare of other back surgeries. BUTTTTTTTT: I don't smoke (huge deal in recovering from surgery) I did all therapy before to build muscle, no matter how…

I checked the post, understand it. Somedays its hard. Its almost easier to not eat than to eat healthy. Does that make sense? I know its an excuse but I really need my deserted island to hide on right now since life won't quit picking on me. I ate more today, need to add it. I'm going up my calories with zig zagging. I'm…

Right now I do then after they are fed in the morning, but when school starts I've got to figure out something else. When the weather is good we can walk in the park. When the timing is right we can go to the Y for classes use the pool, depending on what's going on. I've got a treadmill at home, just thinking it will be…

I know the quote doesn't get the bottom of your post, but that is my favorite verse. I wear a bracelet with that on it! Phil 4:13

can you use a tanning bed? i've used one before a few times with sun block on the tan areas above the waist and nothing on the lighter spots to get them evened out. Its a lot of work, but depends on how much you want to do. My legs just got darker, but that couldn't be seen anyway.

oh didn't mention that if i don't brown bag my lunch for work, i'm stuck with school food! Yuck! I never eat out for lunch during the school year. Left overs or protein shakes and peanuts here.

Money is tight so I cook at home or do Taco Bell fresco dollar taco. I only get to eat out when my Mom want to which once a week, or two weeks. She knows I"m broke but doesn't like to eat alone. I pay for it in computer repairs and other electronic services. :) Still not sure if she can set the time on the microwave w/o…

this zig zag thing is what I think i need to do. I basically started on a plateau and I need a way to keep up with the diary. Some days my brain may be too tired to remember what I was supposed to do. The first few weeks of school I'm almost a zombie when I come home.... thanks for the idea!

diabetes, high blood pressure, heart attacks, strokes....need I continue?

thanks for that! That is what I'm going to try, maybe keeping 1400 +/- 200 a day. i'm hoping i can do better on diet, but its hard with kids and money is tight right now, protein powder is the only "diet food" i can really afford.

I lost friends on my first weight lost journey. They continued to gain weight while "being on a diet" and I worked and lost. I didn't even mention my losses just happy with them with the couple friends who were supportive. Even after gaining some back those friends are at a distance. I'm not sure if its jealousy or…

Nope, don' t do that, just say tomorrow is a new day! We all screw up, call it a major cheat day and face tomorrow fresh. If you let guilt get to you, you won't get through this. I'm on my second time of losing weight that I gained back with comfort eating, I can't beat myself up for that now, I have to take it one day at…

As a driver I would appreciate street runners to take the ear buds out. I almost got one that darted in front of my car a few days ago. I stick with my treadmill since dodging logging trucks on my road is hard on the ankles when you have to hop in deep ditches.

I have the exer-fit ones from Earth. I love them because the heal sets lowers than the ball of your foot. If you have lower back pain, this changes your posture and for me at least, relieves the pain. I can walk miles in these flip flops. I do walk 2-3 mi in the park with them when its not so stinking hot outside! I've had…

Since I've got size 11 feet, i got lucky and bought a nice pair of nike cross trainers ($90) for only $30 on clearance since it was the only size left at a local mom& pop store. I put a Birkenstock insole in them and no more foot pain, which has plagued me for years!! For any woman who is most comfy in her Birks, go online…

For frame of reference I'm in Missouri, I think the relative cost of living here if fairly low. 1. What is your usual weekly grocery budget? How many people are you feeding? Spending about $125/week for 4 to 5 people (2 adults, 2 kids and 1 that comes& goes) I shop as cheaply as possible taking advantage of Aldi's, the…

sounds wonderful, adding stuff to my shopping list for this week!!

My workouts are interval training on the treadmill with handweights, trying to do some 30DS but its killing my knees even w/o jumping and I do crunches just don't log them.

I have evil trolls in my house. Sometimes I think they hop on the scale with me just to tick me off!

What I would give for plate of my Grandpa's Sunday cooking! Cured ham, mountains of mashed potatoes with milk gravy, green beans with lard or ham scraps, salads with full fat homemade ranch dressings, and Grandma's pies for dessert! I grew up spending lots of time in my grandparent's country store and home cooking…

Thanks for sharing! I keep trying on my fav jean shorts....the day they finally fit and I can sit without rupturing my spleen  I'll be sure to post it!

Sadly I am a veteran of back pain. I had two discs collapse and surgery to remove them and bone fuse L4/5 and L5/S1. I battled it for 5 years before resorting to that. Nerve pain doesn't always shoot. The doctor said only moist heat and rest then proper therapy exercises. My pain made it impossible to bend, lift and at the…

Heels just plain hurt! I can't do them at any weight. Can't even do cheap flat shoes. I live in Birkenstock, Earth and Nike with Birkenstock insoles. The cost of shoes means I can't have many and I love cute shoes!!! I guess the good side is that not only am I tall, but 4 inches taller than my husband, so heels might…

Bless your heart! Focus on the positive, anything you can find. Don't let your friend make you feel bad, you may have saved her life and you did what you had to do as her friend. Stay healthy but really, give yourself a break and don't stress about the weight thing. Sometimes life just really sucks and you have to survive…

I've got the polar ft4 with a chest strap. Using it 3 weeks now and like it so far. Got it on amazon for around that price.

I am in about the same boat! I'm interested to see what suggestions come up. My hubby who body builds just keeps telling me to keep doing what I'm doing and it should drop off. Something about slow being healthy..... Still frustrated just the same!!! I've been watching my sodium more, but some days its really hard to keep…
