  • How much weight training are you doing? Lean muscle burns fat! I agree with zig zagging your calories. Don't eat the same number of calories all the time. Drink at least 64 oz. of water every day. Eat 5-6 small meals per day - about 300 cals each if possible. Make sure you are eating at least 1200 calories per day. Are you…
  • Agreed!!! I almost choked laughing when I read how much she paid for it! If I paid that much for it...I would MAKE myself complete it! I choose to do "pull downs" rather than pull ups, using a resistance band. The program can be modified to suit pretty much any fitness level. If you have to push the pause button, come back…
  • This post was worth repeating!!! I couldn't have said it any better than that! You should be very proud of the accomplishments you've made and keep going! YOU are worth it!
  • Sounds like hip flexor to me also. I would recommend seeing a physical therapist specializing in sports injury. They will give you some exercises to do that will get you going again. I would NOT recommend a chiropractor for your issue. If you have a pinched nerve or something, the PT will help with that. Keep tracking your…
  • You aren't alone for sure!! However, there is a difference between a healthy obsession and an unhealthy one. The important thing to learn from this is that FOOD IS NOT THE ENEMY!!! Food is fuel for your body. Obsession about carbs and protein is not going to keep you from gaining or losing weight. The obsession in itself…
  • Well, the amount of fiber in foods actually cuts down on the total NET carbs you consume. I'm usually always over on fiber. I think the only side-effect of too much fiber would be excessive gas.

  • We will all help you along the way, Lisa!!! Good times & bad, we'll be here! Congrats on starting on this journey...it is SO worth it...and so are YOU!
  • This is the BEST advice!
  • First...congrats on the weight loss to begin with! That's a major accomplishment...don't write it off just because you've gained a few pounds back. It happens to all of us. Are you tracking your calories to know if you're burning more calories overall than what you're eating? Our bodies adapt pretty quickly to routine. In…
  • Your best bet is to stop eating at least 3 hours before you go to bed at night. That way your body has time to digest your food before you go to sleep. Our metabolism slows down when we sleep and whatever we eat right before is a candidate for being stored up as fat.
  • I have to agree with jtuner....exactly what I was going to ask! Usually MFP figures cals burned higher than what a HRM does. If you have one that uses the chest strap and you have to enter your age, weight, height, etc. then it should be pretty accurate. But again, I agree with jtuner, something doesn't sound quite right.
  • The main reason(s) for this problem are improper stance and/or shoes not fitting correctly. You could go and get fitted by a professional to make sure you have the correct size shoe. Otherwise, simply loosen the top laces of your shoes to give your toes some wiggle room and keep the tops laces snug to ensure for good arch…
  • Yep, about the same calories in an ounce of vodka as there is in an ounce of tequila. I may have to check this margarita mix out though. I found some premixed Master of Mixes Lite Margarita mix at our local Walmart and it's ok. I'm checking out Baja Bob's!!
  • Girl, you aint right! lol
  • Amen to this! Spoken like someone who has lived it and is living it. I applaud you!! Kudos!
  • I'm sorry but....blah blah blah. Eating healthy and working out takes dedication too. Why not do this the healthy way? The natural way? HGC is synthetic or pig hormones and IS NOT natural.
  • I would never recommend anything other than eating healthy and working out. Too many people are looking for the "easy" way out and it RARELY ever works. And if it works, it isn't lasting. My motto...we didn't get fat overnight, we aren't going to get skinny overnight. Do the work and appreciate the results. But work to be…
  • I agree 100%!!! Very good post & thanks for sharing!
  • The older we get, the more our metabolism slows down. Add in some strength training during the week to build some muscle tone. And you may need to eat more often/more calories. You can do this!!
  • We were posting at the same time. I threw my MIO in the trash. Hope the one you have is better than the one I had. If you are going to invest $50 into a HRM, I suggest spending another $40 and getting a Polar w/ a chest strap. Just my personal opinion.
  • There are a lot of things to take into consideration with calorie burn - age, weight, height, gender, individual intensity, amount of lean muscle mass, etc. However, with all that being said (LOL!!!) I usually burn between 400-500 calories with Plyo. Are you using a HRM with a chest strap? Those are more accurate than the…
  • I make a quick & easy pasta stir fry. 4 oz. uncooked Barilla Whole Grain Thin Spaghetti (cooked per box instructions) In a medium skillet, put 1 tbsp. lemon juice and 1 bag of frozen broccoli stir fry frozen veggies or stir fry veggies of your choice, add 1 tsp. red pepper flakes, 1 oz. sliced mushrooms, and 1 can bean…
  • You are not complaining or being a cry baby. I think we all go through similar things. It's hard when we get to a certain point in our health & fitness that we feel we've accomplished something - only to have a setback - and then have to pretty much start all over again. Well, that's what happens. Our bodies can get…
  • You are definitely putting your body into starvation mode. The late night eating isn't helping either. You should try to stop eating 2-3 hours before you go to bed at night and ALWAYS eat breakfast within an hour of waking up. Breakfast is what gets your metabolism going for the day. Our bodies need fuel every 2 to 3 hours…
  • Whatever....smarty! lol. Always at least one in the crowd.
  • You are 100% right! And you don't need to apologize...we all vent here from time to time. That's one thing, of the MANY, that I love about this place!! lol And I gotta agree with skygoddess also...I hate the loose/lose thing. Get it right, already! It's not that difficult. LOL!!!
  • I totally agree with what Kim said! And if you plan to stick with mainly the crackers, put some cheese on top for the added protein. Most dry wines run between 75 - 85 calories and most sweet wines run between 100 - 119 calories, both per 5 oz. serving, red or white. Hope that helps to figure your calories as you go along…
  • You should have at least 1 - 2 rest days per week. I usually only take 1 rest day. Your body needs time to recover. It helps your muscles to repair/build plus if you overtrain, you'll be defeating your purpose of trying to lose weight (if that is your goal). A rest day can be doing absolutely no exercise, or just doing…
  • That is correct! Additionally, eating too much of anything adds up and if you eat more calories (even of "free" foods) than what you burn off with exercise, you will gain weight. Period.
