Everyone should have a good heart rate monitor that tracks your calories burned during any type of exercise. You even get some cardio effect while doing strength training so you can log your calories for that as well. Each person burns cals differently, so it's best to get one - preferrably one with a chest strap. It's a…

P90X is awesome & will kick your butt!!! I completed 2 rounds and about ready to start my 3rd round w/my hubby! Keep us informed on your progress! Tina

That's awesome, congratulations! Glad to have you join our MFP family. This is an amazing site!! Can't wait to see your pics. Amy_B is right, you'll need to use Photobucket or something similar so you can copy/paste the codes over here. Good luck!! Tina

Your personal development actually should take priority. If you don't take care of yourself, you won't be at the top of your game & may not be around to take care of everything else. Wake up 30 min. earlier and get some form of cardio. Hop on a treadmill, stationary bike, or walk/jog up & down the stairs. Beachbody has an…

The veggie slices from Galaxy Nutritional aren't vegan. I've tried the Rice Vegan cheese and I couldn't stand it either. I managed to finish the package but I melted it on my veggie burgers so I had plenty of other things to help cover the flavor - lettuce, mustard, tomato, etc. LOL! I think I'm just about finished with…

Strength training in general adds muscle definition. However, lower weights with more reps builds more muscular endurance where higher weights with less reps builds more muscle mass, if that makes sense. Using lighter weights doesn't tear the muscle tissue like lifting heavier weights. So less muscle tissue tearing/less…

Check Cracker Barrel's website for nutritional information. Otherwise, you'll have to find something in the database here that is similar - or never eat at Cracker Barrel again. lol. i've never eaten at a Cracker Barrel, and I don't plan to ever start!

All Chinese and all Mexican foods!! Oh, and margaritas! And pizza. And cake, cookies, pasta, any potatoes (chips & otherwise!) OK, I'm drooling now........  LOL!

I totally agree 100% with "healthy_is_best"! Very well said!

Sounds like you are entering them into the correct catagories. However, if you can afford to get a heart rate monitor, that would be your best bet and then you can enter them exactly as they are! I love, love, love TURBO JAM!!! It's one of my fav Beachbody workouts. How do you like them and how long have you been using…

Brian, I have tried this recipe and mine did not turn out well at all. I had to toss it in the trash. Maybe I did something wrong. I'll have to try it again. Anything to use besides peanut butter or any kind of nut butter? I can't really eat any of them. :-( Maybe that's why my first pie sucked, cuz I left out the peanut…

I totally agree. He won't change unless or until he's ready...or until something happens to him where he HAS to change. Just do your thing and let him do his. I'm very blessed in the fact that my husband is on this journey with me. We workout together and eat healthy meals together. Lisa, You're still welcome to vent…

You could also check out an exercise DVD from Beachbody called "Tony & The Folks!" It's priced reasonably and you could order it from me. My website is located on my profile page. My mom was doing this workout for awhile, but our little church exercise group sort of dissolved when everyone got busy doing other things. She…

Hi Grammie! I don't have any mobility related issues, but I'd like to give you just a few ideas of some exercises you can do. But, I would like to say that it's awesome that you are an avid swimmer. Keep up with that! You should try to incorporate some strength training in with your swimming. I found this site on the…

It most def could be gluten intolerance as well. Don't rule it out! P.S. I avoid bananas at all costs now....no more naners for me! LOL!

Wow. YOU are the one who would ultimately benefit from purchasing the program. Do what you must, I believe each one of us here have nothing but your best interest in mind. But if you prefer to get ripped off, then by all means, go for it. Best of luck to you on your fitness journey. Tina

If you purchase from a Beachbody coach (like myself! ) you will pay $119.85 + S/H. So around $130 depending on where you live. Plus, you will have 30 days to try it out and if you don't like it, just return it within that time frame and receive a full refund. If you want more info, just message me or the link to my…

I have a lot of the same issues and I've noticed that some dairy products bother me while others do not, also starchy foods really aggravate it to the point of my gut making obscenely loud noises at the most quietest possible times. I've talked to my doctor about it and I didn't like her suggestion (colonoscopy) but I…

Ya know, I almost quit watching it too. This season has just been disappointing for me. I don't start watching now until they get to the weigh-in's so I'm only watching the last hour of it each week.

SA-WEET!!! I may have to drive up there for that, it's only about 1.5 hrs. away from me.

Great idea Marj! What I like to do is get a bulk size bag of the natural, raw almonds (no salt, not roasted) and split them into single serving snack baggies, then add a serving of dried fruit (prunes, apricots, cranberries, etc.) to each snack baggie. You have your protein, carbs and good fats all in one serving for a…

Sounds yummy!! I would probably replace the yogurt with the protein powder. A scoop of protein powder will add less sugar, less carbs and less sodium than the yogurt. You could even use 1/4 cup egg whites, or egg white powder. You can get some decent protein powders at your local grocery store, but double check the…

Think about all the reasons WHY you want to be healthy and fit, then write them down. Keep this list posted somewhere that you can see it every day. Don't just jot something down, but really honestly think about why you started this journey to begin with. Yes, work gets in the way, life gets in the way. But if you schedule…

This is the closest thing I could find: Curly Fries (Carnival/Fair Food) Serving Size: 7 oz., Calories: 620, Fat: 30g, Carbs: 78g, Protein: 8g

Did you initially see a doctor when you hurt your knee? If so, I'd check back with him/her to find out when it would be ok to start exercising again and which types of exercises would be ok. I definitely would not continue to exercise with it being swollen and causing you pain. Ice and ibuprofen will help temporarily, but…

First of all, welcome to MFP!! Glad to have you here and you'll be glad you joined! I agree with Bonie. If you've eaten 1200 cals or more, you will need to really take a look at what you're eating and how much. If you make your food journal public, we can help you out with that part too. You could go for a walk, hop on a…

As long as it fits into your calorie range for the day, ENJOY IT!!! The word "diet" is a bad 4-letter word. It makes people think they have to cut out ALL the foods they love. It's not true. Stop listening to the Discovery Channel....they are idiots. Seriously.

I'd also like to add that a lot of fat-free foods normally increase the sugar/sodium levels in order to try and preserve flavor. So just choose healthier foods, good fats, etc. and you'll be fine. A calorie pretty much is a calorie - it's energy. The energy (calories) will be burned first from carbs, then fat, then protein.

It really depends on the machines. If you can enter your own personal information into it, then it gets pretty close. But otherwise, it uses an average woman's weight, height, etc. to record the data based on how hard you work. I only burn half of what my treadmill says I do...but I'm ok with that because I know my HRM is…

Not being snarky at all, just wanted to clarify. Muscle weighs the same as fat. It doesn't matter if it's 5 pounds or 1 pound. However, muscle is more compact and takes up less space than fat. But I agree with everything else!
