"there's an app for that" (there's a couch to 5k app on itunes) I haven't looked at it. There are a ton of sites if you google it... that's the best bet

look at the couch to 5k program (you add a few more weeks to get to 10k) I think it gets you to 5k in 10 weeks or so then like 5 more weeks to get you to 10k

I also work long days (10 is the norm but 13+ are not unheard of) I found the best plan was to get up and do it first thing in the morning. That way I wouldn't have the "I'm too tired" or the "today was too long" excuse because it was first thing. I am lucky since I have a gym (and showers) at work so it's a one stop deal.…

Yes you can have too much water, however it doesn't usually happen to most people. it's called hyponatremia. It is a concern for long distance runners (I learned about it while training for a marathon). It's related to how fast your kidneys can process the water.
