Or, if you'd rather be efficient, squats and deadlifts.

I definitely second auddii to check out the Eat Train Progress group - lots of good info there.

Congrats! Are you lifting? I think, given your goal, that a bulk cycle is going to get you the results you want. The scale will go up, but if you're on a good lifting program, it will be muscle, and your body fat percentage will drop.

All of these comments are so wonderful, guys. Thank you. I am reading and appreciate every one.

Whatever I need to hit my protein requirements for the day. Sometimes it's 4oz raw, sometimes 8 or more.

And that doesn't even take the environmental stressor of the heat into account, which increases one's heart rate without a corresponding increase in calories burned. I would absolutely not rely on the calorie count of an HRM worn during yoga, let alone hot yoga.

Unless you are one of the rare "responders" to dietary cholesterol and you've been instructed by a doctor to limit egg yolks and other cholesterol-containing food, there is absolutely no reason to avoid them.

Every post and blog of yours makes me smile. You are radiant.

Absolutely tremendous. You look great. Congrats!

And how lucky for those of us who live outside the mecca that is NYC. I live in Minneapolis, which, as you know, has no delicious food at all. No amazing restaurants, food trucks, or pastry shops. Not a one.

It's not magic, but I use it in place of sports drinks before/after long runs. The potassium helps significantly, it's easier to down than several bananas, and it's portable. I haaaaaaaaaaaate the taste though.

So amazing! You look great.

My husband has loved me unconditionally, big and small. He has always told me how beautiful I am and how much he adores me. He's wonderful and I'm lucky to have him. He does, though, really like that I'm more active now - we do more of the activities he enjoys like biking, hiking, canoeing, etc. He also lost 30 pounds…

umm, hello, abs. Looking good - great work!

I don't know! Now that you've replied it will stay in the list of your posts. Otherwise, feel free to print. Glad it helped :)

Yep, this. The smith machine at the gym is perfect for this. do elevated pushups, and progress toward moving the bar down lower and lower. If you don't have a smith machine, anything at home works: the wall, the kitchen counter, stairs. I think doing elevated pushups helps you progress toward full pushups better than the…

 thank you! Does being a lawyer count? Nah, didn't think so.

My current plan is to log most days. Right now I eat at a small deficit during the week and moderate surplus on weekends, but I think I need to re-evaluate it because my goal has changed a bit, body-composition wise, and it will be better met through a more consistent intake schedule. I'm not an intuitive eater, other than…

Thank you for noticing. Yes, it definitely was. He often makes up my inner dialogue.

Damn, you guys, your replies are kind of making me cry. My heart is turning less black. Stop it! ;)

Yep, totally having one this weekend. There is a newer place here that makes maple long johns topped with caramelized bacon. Is it wrong for me to post about that in a thread about losing 133 pounds? Oh well. If it's wrong, I don't wanna be right. I lift weights for donuts.
-
This exactly. I'd like to be more intuitive about it, but if logging is what it takes, I'm so used to it that I can continue. The 15 minutes a day it takes is worth it.
-
Cause it will take you nine years to read. Oops! Sorry ;)

This is so awesome. Congrats!

Of course it can. It is using data from your personal metrics - weight, age, sex - to calculate your RMR. When the band/device is not moving, the Fitbit assumes you are not moving, and therefore calculates calories based on your RMR. When the device moves (along with your body) that activity is added to your RMR to…

1. YES. It's happened to me several times, and it means it's time to change my program. I will de-load and do endurance lifting for awhile, circuit training style. Or I'll switch to 5x5. Right now I've just switched from three days a week of full body to 4 days of upper lower splits and it's got me practically giddy about…

Check out my diary (it's public). I do drink a protein powder on weight training days, but yesterday I ate 142g without any supplements. Meat, eggs, Greek yogurt, nuts, nut butter, and a bit of cheese.
